Response from Active Landscaping & Irrigation
The member purchased 2 tuneups for 2 properties, which were both performed timely and properly. Upon doing one inspection our irrigation tech realized the pressure check valve was leaking. Our procedure in this situation to avoid high water bills for the client and preventing possible larger breaks is to turn the system off. We have this procedure to protect the vulnerability of the client's system and avoid more repairs. Our technician followed this procedure and a proposal was immediately provided to the client to replace this part including several other items this property required to have full system coverage. The proposal provided included replacing the pressure check valve, repiping/raising various heads, adding a new head in a area with limited coverage and replacing a broken head. The line item for the pressure check valve also included the required certification fee to have the pressure check valve certified once installed. The client is mistaken by indicating that we only provided a proposal to replace the pressure check valve. Unfortunately, at the price of $75, it is not possible that the member received the required certification and had the remainder needed repairs on her system to have full coverage. We at Active stand by our prices, quality parts, and experienced/knowledgable staff. We strive to remain steadfast in being industry standard competitive. We feel we provided very competitive pricing for all of the work proposed to the member. She most likely did not have these additional items done at this time, and that is her choice.
