Jerry is a thief. He took money from my insurance company and then never finished the work. I never saw him or heard from him after he got the money. He should be in jail.

Our nightmare started in December of 2014 when we arrived at our vacation home in Florida to extensive water damage and mold.  Jerry Davis and his Dry First team came in as soon as we discovered the damage to assess and dry out our home.  Before any payment what-so-ever, Dry First arranged to have the plumbing issues repaired and secured the house while we waited on the insurance company to release funds to start the work.  It took our insurance carrier 3 months to concede that we had a valid claim. Jerry agreed to return our home to the pre-water damage state at a price equal to the insurance proceeds. Again, we had not paid him a dime as yet. Once the insurance company began to release the funds and the work actually began, we discovered that the mold was much worse than we originally thought.  Jerry assured us that he would do what he said at the cost he had promised even though the work would be more than originally thought.
Going through an event like this is not fun for anyone and there are always frustrations along the way, especially since we live in another state and the damage was extensive throughout the home. That said, Dry First, Jerry and his team did a great job on our home.  We couldn't be happier with the results.  The entire team was professional, courteous and really listened to our concerns.  We honestly love our home now more than we did before the event and Dry First did the work for the price they promised!   I would not want to live through that again; but, if it happened again I would definitely call Dry First!

Response from Dry First
"Dry First responded to an emergency situation at Ms [Member Name Removed]'s home and, in addition to mitigating water damage, completed the corresponding repairs/reconstruction to her home BEFORE we received any funds from her insurance company. Upon completion of all work Ms [Member Name Removed] signed a Completion and Satisfaction Form, then Dry First submitted the estimates and invoice to her insurance company for payment. Since March 2011 we have been paid only $3,000 of a $5,426.64 bill. Ms [Member Name Removed] has refused to cooperate with Dry First in dealing with her insurance company for the balance due of $2,426.64. We have turned over this account to our attorneys for collection. It is our belief that this action has resulted in this ONE and ONLY negative review Dry First has ever received on Angie's List. Also, for the record, for years Ms [Member Name Removed] refused to post her name and comments to her review and Dry First had no clue as to whom or what customer this review referenced. Only recently did Angie's List post the name of the customer whom posted this review. As evidenced by our other Angie's List reviews, Dry First works extremely hard to maintain a very high customer satisfaction rating and we will continue to under promise and over deliver superior results to our current and future customers."

These guys acted professionally the whole length of the project.   Came out same day I called to survey the project.  Upon seeing the extent of what needed to be done they recommended a public adjuster to handle my insurance claim and arranged a meeting between us.   Took some time for the job to be completed after the insurance claim was settled.  The work performed directly by Dry First was done timely and was excellent but the work on the floor, took longer than agreed to... to be fair the floors look great but they used a subcontractor for the floor installation / refinishing in the house and there was a lack of supervision over the subcontractor.   The subcontractor worked for just one day, on what was estimated as a full week job,  and then didn't return until threatened with termination. When I called to complain about the delay Dry First admitted they were unaware their subcontractor had abandoned the job but  they acted immediately to locate the guy, or find an alternate, to finish the job.

This is not your average contractor. They actually return calls, show up on time, keep you informed and care .
Jerry Davis explains in detail the scope of the job and what to expect in terms of insurance delays which can be daunting.
However working with 5 star claims adjusting (Keven Downs) makes that process much easier and rewarding in terms of payout.
In lieu of too much detail, the work was performed to my complete satisfaction , the workers showed-up on time or called when they would be late. They were some of the hardest workers I have seen in a long time ( you remember when people really worked right?). They were respectful and left things looking like nothing ever happened.
Take it from someone who has a very dim view of contractors, THESE GUYS ARE GOOD.

It was excellent. The quality of the work that they've been doing is excellent plus the workers that they sent out were hard workers. They do a good job and they're very clean. They met all the deadlines that were informed. I found their number in the yellow pages and we called them. They answered and then my husband looked on Angie's List and he saw that they've got very good reviews on Angie's List so we made the right decision. It was an insurance claim. They only deal with people who have water damage.

Dry First sent someone out promptly on Labor Day to begin the dry-out process after a broken toilet supply line caused substantial water damage to several rooms, both upstairs and downstairs.  They came every day for five days to adjust equipment and check progress, until everything was dry and ready for repair.  They removed all damaged carpet, flooring, ceiling materials, and baseboards, and cleaned up thoroughly after themselves.  The business owner came by several times to check on the work personally.  Everyone was knowledgeable, cheerful, and helpful.  I hope we never need their services again, but I would hire them again without hesitation if necessary.

Very happy with the inspection. He didn't have to go into the wall. He made some suggestions like have the window caulked first.

It went fine with Dry First. We had good luck with them. They took care of everything. The last time we used them was probably 2 years ago. We are in a condo and the upstairs was flooded out, some 6 floors, we had to take care of the wall. They dried the walls all out and did the mold inspections and had to get a lot of new things for them like the carpets and stuff because they were all moldy. They did a good job. Everything is fine now. Overall they were pretty good. The price seemed alright, of course it was covered by insurance anyways so that took care of most of that anyway. The price seemed to be normal. The quality of the service turned out to be fine. They were good at it. They were good to talk to and seemed to take care of everything the way I asked them to do. The punctuality was good. Anytime we have had trouble we call them and they come right out, took care of all of our phone calls real nice. The professionalism was very good. I think we would use this provider again in the future, sure.

Came home from a 2 hour dinner and discovered toilet overflowing and water everywhere. This happened at approximately 9:00 pm and when I called Dry First they stated they would respond immediately. It did take them a little longer to arrive then they stated but once they arrived they worked hard. Todd was fantastic--he explained everything in great detail and assured me that they would be able to do the work with no issues. Todd and 2 of Dry First employees worked until 1:30 in the morning ensuring everything that was wet was removed, baseboards removed and holes drilled to speed they drying process. They never took a break and I was very impressed with them. They even took my area rug with them and brought it back cleaned and dried out. It did take a while for them to return to collect the final equipment and bring my carpet though. Also, response time on replying to my inquiries of cost estimate was a little slow. The water remediation and dry out work was excellent and Todd provided first rate service.
