My neighbors were coming back to town, so I turned their a/c down to cool their place off. The next morning I went to check their place and noticed it was still warm and the temp had not changed much. I tried calling the a/c company that they had a card for, but the gentleman told me he would not be able to help because he was a small company. I called Comfort Experts because they were recommended by another neighbor and within hours they had a crane, a new a/c and a crew getting it all done.
My neighbors came back during the repair and were very happy that they didn't have to sleep in a hot condo
after traveling all day. I am very grateful for their willingness to help out right before a holiday and under the rush circumstances. From 9/22 to 11/17, I received only one call (10/20) from Comfort Experts. During that same time period, I called Comfort Experts seven (7) times and each time was told I would receive a call back. I also received the following information about the delays:
--frequent rains backed up service calls,
--"something" needed renewal (Air Advice subscription),
--the full monitoring report was not received,
--the air monitoring data was not reliable,
--the company was changing to another air monitoring device, and
--unknown delay in receiving the new air monitoring device,
On 11/17 I talked to Comfort Experts' office manager and requested a refund, which I received in the mail on 11/21
.
This review concerns the company's "indoor air monitoring service" only and not their HVAC maintenance service. This review is a condemnation of the owner and operations manager's customer service--that is, not assuring a proactive policy to keep the customer informed (by calling the customer and not waiting to receive a call from the customer) of delays. I subsequently hired an indoor air quality monitoring service from Angie's List, and that service is still in progress.
I purchased a building in mid 2009 and did a complete renovation including New heat and air conditioning system installation and two mini split systems later in that year.
After two years I replaced one mini split system. The system continually broke and repairs cost a few hundred dollars every time it sopped working, After 3 or four repairs I finally decided to replace the entire unit with a better quality system for $2,150 after only 2 years of age.
Over the course of the entire four years the air handler system continued to break down and leak destroying my hardwood floors.
The company claims it was unplugged...which is ridiculous! The PLUG was never plugged in by the installer.
Recently I found out that both condensers need to be replaced and after being analyzed by two AC companies the recommendation is the same; The air handler system was installed so badly that its almost impossible to change a filter. They also recommended replacing this system soon due to poor quality system and improper installation.
After spending approx. 13,000 for the original AC systems I now have to incur another $4,000 after less than four years of age.
Unlike their accusations I have serviced and maintained the units regularly after I stopped using Comfort Experts in 2011 and I have documentation and pictures to support. It baffles me how anyone can assume I did not maintain them, Just another example of the lack of excuse for any reason as to why this equipment failed, the mini split after 2 years and the 2 condensers after only 4 years of installation.
"Comfort Experts has serviced many of Mrs. [removed member name] properties for a number of years (from 2005-2012.) It seems Mrs. [removed member name] has taken to the internet (years after the services were performed) because she was a close neighbor of our company’s owner, and is now involved in a personal dispute with him. Rather than make attempt to resolve any short-comings professionally she has decided to slander us online as part of a personal vendetta. In reference to the commercial property that is the bulk of her complaint; we did install the systems in 2009. Although we did perform a number of service calls on the referenced property Mrs [removed member name] was never charged for any of the work that was under warranty. In 4/2010 & 7/2011 she was charged a discounted commercial diagnostic rate of $ 89.00 for service calls that were caused by operator error. 4/2010 we were called out for a water leak, someone in the building had unplugged the condensate pump to the unit causing the system to leak. In 4/2010 someone had put the batteries into the thermostat remote the wrong way and could not get the temperature to adjust from the remote. 2/2012 we performed a coil pull and clean on one of the units evaporator coils. It had become impacted with dirt due to infrequent filter changes and a lack of maintenance. Mrs. [removed member name] was never charged for any work that was performed under her warranties, and declined our numerous recommendations to have her systems maintained in the manner recommended by the manufacturer of the equipment. Without proper maintenance & filter changes it is not uncommon for HVAC systems to fail, regardless of the installation. As these systems were installed per code specifications it is unlikely that their failure was a result of the installation by our company. If proper maintenance had been done on the systems she would likely not have to replace them so soon. As to the 05’ home that she has referenced, again, it is unlikely that a system & duct system would function properly for 9 years and then cause something as catastrophic as a ceiling collapse. As we have never been contacted regarding this and have no reference other than an 05’ install it is difficult to comment beyond speculation. As a company we stand behind our warranties and our work 100%. It is unfortunate that Mrs. [removed member name] cannot distinguish between her personal and professional life and has chosen this route. After a conversation with an Angie’s List representative we have been informed that the only way to remove a falsified review is to take legal action against the reviewer. Although this is a somewhat unfair practice we understand Angie’s Lists position on the matter and will be perusing legal action. In response to the information that was added by Mrs [member's name remove] on 4/29/14. My name is Jennifer Sea and I do in fact exist. I am more than a little confused as to why anyone would think I was a made up employee, but I have in fact worked at Comfort Experts for 4 years. If anyone is concerned that our company would manufacture a person to respond to an review I can be reached at 321-722-2111. The facts presented by our company are based on our service records and invoices from when Mrs [member's name remove] was a client of ours, not on personal feelings, and what was done afterwards is not being disputed by us."
bad motor and the price would be $800. $800 was a lot to spend
so I said I would call around. Another company would replace for under
$700 so I went with them. When the other company came out they did some
work and determined that the relay board was bad, not the motor. Final
price of close to $300. The Tech for comfort experts was quick in his
assesment and never found the root cause of the problem, would have cost
a bunch to fix and not actually corrected the issue. I won't be using
them again.
