In July we noticed a leak around our toilet. A plumber was called to repair the leak but also informed us that we had some water damaged drywall and suggested we get the drywall repaired. He felt that the water damage could possibly be behind the bathtub and baseboard. We went to ANGIE'S LIST to locate a handyman who could fix whatever would arise rather that contacting several contractors to come in to fix any damage unveiled. After researching and reading reviews, Michael Hale of MY HANDYCRAFTMAN business was highly recommended by Angies's users. We gave him a call. Our bathroom is beautiful. A complete renovation was the only recommended solution. Damage was pointed out that we were not aware of. Tile, vanity, toilet, lighting, and shower fixtures were replaced. A couple of minor leaks were repaired also. Mark took care of the labor. He was very experienced in all aspects of the construction job and kept us informed in each new phases as it happened. He listened to our ideas and made it happen. He was a pleasure to work with. His work ethic was amazing. He came to work early and put in a hard days work. Michael Hale stopped by periodically to check the job and make sure we were satisfied. We have several other projects in the near future that we are planning and MY HANDYCRAFTMAN and Michael Hale will be our contractors. The complete job was eight days and the entire price was very very reasonable.

Exceeded my expectations in all areas

My original appointment was missed because the original installer didn't have my correct phone number so didn't show up but once we got in touch we rescheduled and then he got injured on another job so i rescheduled with a different handyman. Once we got all that corrected, the work was flawless and I was very happy with the service. All the work was done exceptionally and the handyman was a great person all around. I will certainly use them again when I have more projects to tackle.

My Handy Craftsman, Inc. provides great customer service and superior quality craftsmanship. They are knowledgeable about products and services, and home remodeling in general. All the remodeling work is completed on-time or ahead of schedule. The workmanship they provided on the kitchen and bathroom has been very satisfying. Tony was our Handyman an did a great job. Very professional, punctual, and did a great job. Definitely would recommend.

They were very prompt and professional. I had convinced myself that I was in need of a new door and was extremely surprised when they were able to work with the hinges and repair the door without the need for replacement. I will definitely use them in them in the future.

He was prompt everyday, starting at around 9 am. It took him from Monday to Thursday morning to finish. He was very nice and professional and addressed all our questions. He cleaned up his area everyday as he finished. My dad is a construction guy and he was also impressed with how well prepared he came. My only wish is that it was a little expensive even with our discount but they were so prompt to come out right away ready to work if we agreed with the quote.

Very responsive, professional, and friendly service. right on time. Hired them to fix a two-panel sliding glass shower door. Unfortunately, the work was messy, left the bathroom sink, toilet lid, and floor dirty where tools/parts were placed. quality of repair was ok at best but not great. one door is still slightly crooked and both do not slide smoothly. the silicone glue on one panel smeared about two inches into the glass. the door is better than what it was before the repair but will have to eventually get someone else to fix it right. These handy men are ok if you need a quick fix but the quality is just a patch up job.

Home owner (me) purchased the new 6x6 posts, base plates, and top flanges. I looked carefully at the job and my basic skills and decided that a professional carpenter would be the smart thing to have perform the job. I looked on Angie's List and found My Handy Craftsman listed as an A company with 295 reviews. I called and spoke to Jeff and he set up a date and time for his carpenter to do the work. Bob showed up on time and proceeded to perform the work of demolition and installation. Then, at the end of the day, my wife decided she wanted capitals on the tops and something on the bottoms. She provided a picture out of a magazine that represented what she desired. Bob took the picture and said he would design something similar that would fit our porch and look right, and that he would get with Jeff and set up another date for that work. Bob was going to purchase the needed materials and bring them with him. A date was set for one week after the initial service. Bob arrived on time with a design and the materials. He did one post, and I called my wife out for inspection. And she did not like it - it was too small. Bob did not get upset, but proceeded to query her as to exactly how to modify the design. That required a trip to Home Depot for additional material, but Bob came back in short order with the stuff and proceeded to tear out the first attempt and install the second design. Again, the wife inspected and approved! So Bob got on with it and finished by the end of the day. I expected to be upcharged for the modification, but the original agreed upon labor charge was all that was billed. Of course, I had to pay for all the material that was used (and some was pure waste due to the design change). I am doing the painting of the new posts, so Bob did not do any of that. All in all, we are very pleased with the new look of our porch. I can recommend My Handy Craftsman for all your carpentry needs.

It was a big job. They finished the job within a week. Two- to three workers were working on any given time. The same workers were there for the most part, but they had to swap out the painter once because he got sick. The owners are very nice and easy to work with. I have already personally recommended them to friends.

Receiving a return call did take several days, but after receiving initial call, things went smoothly. Service provider arrived and knocked on front door exactly at set appointment time. He gave reasonable estimate for work to be completed. Did a fantastic job, bringing each job to completion in approximately time estimated and to my full satisfaction. I will be hiring this service provider in the near future.

I called they advised that would call me back never heard from them again.

Michael provided a written estimate within four days of his on-site review of the work required. There was an overage on the materials estimate which was then applied to the labor costs. There was a lag between the time of estimate and the work date due to our wait for the manufacture of the mantle and the receipt of our electric fireplace (NOT due to any delay by My Handy Craftsman). Once these materials were received by us, the work was scheduled for the following week. Chris performed the work over multiple days and was punctual and professional throughout. Jeff Hale (owner) was quite responsive to our needs as was were Michael and Chris. We will use these folks again.

I called to schedule an estimate for some drywall work. As stated by another reviewer, they wanted to conduct the work on the same day as the estimate. I agreed to meet them and make a decision at the time of the estimate based off of the positive reviews on this site. I was then told that they would have to check the schedule and call me back. I never received a call back. It is completely unprofessional conduct and possibly some bad practices going on with these guys. They should just state that they do not give estimates and will charge you whatever they feel comfortable without allowing the customer to conduct any due diligence. If you're comfortable with that, then call them up and maybe they will be able to conduct the work without giving you any idea of the total cost first. For the average person, it is a waste of time to even try to contact them. Better yet, they should just remove themselves from the handyman category and go straight into general contracting/remodeling if they feel that providing estimates is not something they want to do.

Called to see if they could come out and provide an estimate for drywall and minor carpentry work that I need done in my home. The gentleman who answered the phone asked me few questions of the work involved and informed me that the rate would be $60/hour approximately with a 2 hour minimum plus cost of materials. He asked me if that sounds like something I am interested in and I said yes and asked if he could come provide an estimate. I also informed him that I am in the process of calling around to get estimates. He then asked me if I would mind calling around other places first and call him last. He told me that he and his team do not like to drive around town doing estimates and then sit back and wait to be called. They like to do the work on site right away same day they come out to do the estimate. I then asked him how does it work for people like me who need an evening estimate, say after 5pm as I work a typical 9-5 job. I was concerned with the idea of starting a job in the evening based on that rule. He informed that his employees do not like to do estimates after 5pm because they wish to be home with their families. At that time I thanked him for his time and ended the call. While I see they have good reviews, I am disappointed that to even come out and do an estimate it seems difficult in the sense that it appears they will only come out and do an estimate if they get the ok on the phone to go ahead and use their company for work. It is unprofessional to me that the company would not want to even come out and take measurements, see what work needs to be done, etc, and then present an estimate to the customer and allow him/her to choose that day or later if they wish to use the company. But to treat a customer with that presentation of we will come to your house to do an estimate only if you wish to use us, is not a good way to do business. Furthermore, it is important too for business to consider that many, many individuals/families work during the day and rely on the evening time to take care of these matters or an early morning time at least. Using the time to do estimates during the typical 9-5 without an early am or evening time is a for sure way to lose customers and business.

All good things: He was prompt, efficient, and professional. The cost was reasonable, and the work was competent. I will definitely use them again.

The tech was Richard; he was fantastic. He is one of those guys that can do anything. After the drywall repair he suggested re-tiling the bathroom floors and a few other jobs. He did them all well, and I would have him in my home again...no questions. In fact I gave him the key and he came and went as he needed. Completely trustworthy.

Fantastic work! Bob did a great job. He painted two new wooden outside doors. One side was painted the color of the house and the other side was painted white. He also painted the ceiling of our small shower. He hung a new windsock, because I refuse to climb the tall ladder anymore. Also, he fixed the aluminum railing where the screws went into the cement. It is now tight and very safe.

Called Jeff on Monday to make appointment to repair drywall, he was polite and helpful. After sending him pictures of the distressed area, we scheduled for someone to come out on Thursday to do the repair work. I get a call Thursday morning from another guy who was on his way to do the work, and asked me some details. I send him pictures (which he should have gotten from Jeff) of the area that needed repair, he said he isn't equipped to fix this. I called Jeff back and told him about the issue, Jeff said just to find someone else to do the project. Wasted my time and his, I wish he would have been more upfront.

Mostly it went great. Nice and competent work. Only negative was they are supposed to come out, look at the work, quote you and then start the clock, but the clock seemed to start when he got there on my 2 hours so I ended up adding an extra hour on to get the things I wanted done. For the last hour was there was no minute wasted, so I felt better after that. I probably will use them again.

Once the job was scheduled, Bob, who handled the estimation and the work scheduled the work in a reasonable amount of time, was on time every day, was diligent, worked through to get the job done and did good work. Our fencing was tough to replace as there is a large amount of existing foliage right along our property line. In addition, there was a tree stump growing right into the old fence and it had to be trimmed with a chain saw. Bob took care of that and got the fencing up and it looks great. There was no high pressure sales, just some good advice and we really appreciated the work that was done and how it was done. We would definitely use this company again and have also referred them to some friends.

Constructed intricate front walkway and it turned out just as I hoped - then they renovated the entertainment room with new flooring, entertainment center built out of cabinets, paint and ceiling repairs - went beyond the minimum by fixing some baseboard and window molding on their own - room looks great.

They sent someone else out very quickly and in 2 days had everything done. And he kept everything clean the whole time.

I Messaged Jeff who arranged a time for someone to come to the house .Richard rang the night before to check on when he could come.Richard came out and gave an estimate Took Pictures Etc.Made arrangements to come back at our convenience to start the work,Worked for 7 hours none stop then arranged to come back to finish .We had a problem with a burst pipe my husband rang Richard he came in an hour to fix it !This was nothing to do with the install so we were grateful .Finished work and tweaked a few things we asked very easy to talk to and ask questions .Very pleased with the result .

Absolutely awesome experience. Adam came to the house as promised, very punctual and politely professional. Worked practically non-stop from the time he arrived until departure, and the final product more than exceeded my expectations. I was amazed at how much a difference his efforts did. A true perfectionist in every sense, and strived to please in even the minor details of the job. Went well above and beyond, and at an extremely reasonable cost. I'll be keeping his information for future projects, that's for sure. Owner Jeff was very polite and appreciate through all the phone calls, to make arrangements to come to the house on short notice. Great experience from start to finish, and I'd recommend Adam's work to anyone in the central Florida region- does an amazing job, and quality like that is very hard to find any more.
