 + -1 moreLeak was under concrete floor slab. They recommended Sleuth Inc. to locate leak, which they did. McGill returned to jack hammer floor slab down to pipe and repaired leak. Although the quality of their service was very good, they did not use any safety procedures such as wearing protective glasses or hearing protection while jack hammering.

 + -1 moreSewer line was routed and got flowing again. Service person advised the blockage was past the customer connection to the public sewer and advised having the county check their side. County checked sewer line with video camera and actually found major blockage customer side causing minimal water to flow.

 + -1 moreThe guys couldn't have been more professional in their work and in general. They left the work areas cleaner than when they came and removed all old fixtures. They were careful around my house and with the new fixtures. Price is competitive with other plumbing companies. But the professionalism here is worth it. I didn't have to lift a finger and they had the job done in no time at all. I would give them an A+ if I could.
Description of Work: Had two toilets replaced and a problem with rusty water coming out of the tub faucet analyzed and repaired.

 + -1 moreIt went ok. Drain cover in shower could no be removed as hold down screws would not move. Cover had to be cut out and replaced with new drain. I think the price was too high.

 + -1 moreThe employee (can't remember his name!) showed up during the promised time. He looked at the water heater and showed me it was a pipe leaking and running down the back of the tank, and that was what was causing the water to come from the tank. So instead of us having to replace the water tank, we were able to simply replace the pipes - much cheaper! I really appreciated the professionalism and honesty we got - would recommend to others. The plumber could have come in and simply replaced the tank - but he took the time to took at it first, and show us we could fix it for a lot cheaper.
Description of Work: We had a leak coming from our water heater. Given it was 13 years old, we figured we needed to replace it.

 + -1 moreMy handyman actually found a way to at least slow the leak on a temporary basis. McGill did finally come out and do the work, but left the sidewalk where they'd also had to dig, unrepaired for well over a week. Then I had what looked like another leak a few months later inside the building. I was quoted $18,000 to replace all the pipes in the building. When another plumber came to give me a bid he found that there was no leak and that the water came from a bathroom up above where the tub had overflowed one day.
Description of Work: Hired them twice. The first time I had a water leak in a pipe the yard of a rental I had. They couldn't come out for a couple of days. The leak got much worse and started spouting. They charged me emergency rates to come out even though it was a couple of days later because it was after five pm., and then said they couldn't do anything to stop the leak without doing major work and left until they could come back in a few days.

My handyman drove by, saw the situation and began to dig a trench and devised a clamp to slow it down to a small leak again. He then let me know what was happening. I called McGill and was told that no-one from the building had ever returned their call. They finally got on the site and said that they really didn't need to get into the building at all. They fixed it, but this was after about two weeks. They water company charged us over $1000 for the leak. I called McGill and suggested they not charge me for the earlier emergency visit as they had done nothing, made a mistake about accessing the water line, and took two weeks to do anything constructive causing me to have to pay an enormous water bill. I ended up paying them over $1000 for the work they did, though they did discount the first bill and charged me non-emergency rates saving me about $15.00 altogether. I had another problem, after this, and called them. They did an emergency repair then said someone would come out and look at it for a quote to replace that pipe. Weeks later I still hadn't heard from them. I called the company, then a few days later finally got a repair estimate to replace every pipe in the building for over $18,000. They do good work, as far as I can tell, but the time lag is incredible and they make mistakes that have cost me money. I won't use these guys again.

 + -1 moreHe was efficient, but rather abrupt - did not want to hear my concerns. My main reason for the "C" on professionalism is that he had really dirty shoes which tracked dirt all over my white berber carpet and white throw rugs. I wish he would have worn shoe "booties" to cover his shoes.

If there wasn't a new water softener I wouldn't have known they had been there. The only problem I had was they didn't leave any paperwork like an owner's or operator's manual.
