MICA FURNITURE

We contacted George at the Mica Furniture Inc. because he had been recommended by a number of people in the community. George came to our home and we showed him that space and told him what we envisioned for the room. He sat down right then and there and came up with a drawing and a plan. The after some tweaking, the drawing totally matched the ideas we had for the space. He told us the price and we thought that it was reasonable and fair based on talking to others who had used both him and other providers. In fact, we had an appointment with another provider the next day which we cancelled. George told us the unit would take about 5-7 weeks to be built and invited us to his factory to see how the units were built. We went to the factory and met George's son Harold, who we dealt with for the rest of the time. George was very proud of his operation and took us to see every aspect of the construction. About 3 weeks later we received a call from Harold telling us that our unit was ready to be inspected at the factory. All the units are assembled at the factory for the customer to inspect before installation. Harold told us it would take 4-6 hours to install and we made an appointment for installation. The workers showed up on time, but the installation took a bit longer than anticipated (approx. 7 1/2 hrs.). They even hung a TV on the wall within the unit and ran the wires in the wall so they would not show, for no extra charge. The unit was beautiful. After the men had left, I noticed that the pocket doors did not go all the way into the unit, as I thought they would. I called Harold and he told me that was not a problem, but he would have to order special tracks which would take about a week to get. It actually took three weeks, but that was not a problem for me. I also noticed that the center drawer in the knee-hole was a bit low and me knees hit it when I sat at the desk. Harold said that was not a problem and that would be fixed when the tracks were installed. They were just installed and work the way I envisioned them to. The center draw was also fixed. There was no charge for any of this additional work. Now we are waiting to make an appointment with the "finisher" who will come and fix and nicks and scratches that occurred during installation. There is also no charge for this service. All-in-all, my experiences with this company have been excellent. The job was a reasonable cost and done on time. My concerns were addressed promptly and to my satisfaction. Harold told me if here any other problem, no matter how long we have the unit, to call and they would be fixed. The only negative I would say is that they insist on final payment the day of installation BEFORE the installation is done. I'm not used to paying for something in full before the job is completed. However given that all problems were addressed promptly and adequately, it turned out not to be a problem. I would definitely recommend them.
