Michael (plumber) was very personable and knowledgeable regarding my toilet situation. (I was elated when he covered his shoes to walk on my carpet.) When Michael quickly diagnosed my toilet problem, he replaced the flapper. Thus far, the toilet is working great even though it is 29 years old. They installed the water heater and thermostat, but they put in the circuit breaker backwards, so there was no electricity. They came back the next day to fix it and it works. There is a noise in the pump because they had not bled the water pump correctly, so there was air in there, so the flow was not as good as it could be. They came back and fix it as well. They did do the job, but I would not give them an A grade. The cost was reasonable, but then there was additional cost for labor, I feel they could have been done faster. At the end of everything, it was all fine. They did give good responsiveness. They came several times. I would consider using them again. We live in a high rise condo and they work here all the time, so we would probably use them again.

Great experience! Mary Beth was able to send Mike over within an hour of the time that we called them. Mike did a fantastic job fixing the problem. We even had him do preventive work on another hose bib.

He quickly diagnosed my problem and had to snake the main line. He double checked that the problem was resolved and gave me some hints on how to keep my sink draining game properly. Mike was polite, courteous and very knowledgeable. I would defiantly use them again.

I called for an appointment and, fortunately, one of the company's plumbers was working in the area. While I wasn't experiencing a plumbing emergency, I appreciated that the scheduler in Charles Swain Plumbing's office was able to schedule my service call on such short notice. I cleared the work area under the kitchen sink and marked the location of the external sewer access before the tech arrived. Operation was a success, but it didn't happen without a fight. After the manual snake failed to work, Joe had to bring in his large sewer machine to clear the stoppage. I'd hire the Company again if I needed a plumber but would make sure I recorded an agreed upon start and stop time since they charge by the hour and round up to the nearest half hour. I did get a $15 credit as a first time customer.

They showed up on time and they got the job done. My interaction with them was fine. It was relatively painless. The work turned out great.

Came out quickly and installed new water heater. No problems and completed job as promised.

We were very happy. One guy came out and my husband assisted. We had to move the washer and dryer. The whole area was left cleaner than it had been in years.

They were very responsive and took care of the problems right away.

The service man charged me (I believe) over priced on the Mowen faucet cartridge. It was $57.18 but that seems much higher than the ones I had previously purchased on my own. I went to Home Depot and priced the item. there are two varieties (one brass and plastic and one all brass). The brass/plastic was just under $20 and the all brass part was only 2-3 dollars more, Home Depot no longer carries the all brass part any longer due to many issues customers have had. I called the company, they informed me that they only use the all brass cartridges. The representative said he'd have to speak to the service technician and said he'd call me back. The representative informed me that having finally spoken to the service technician, he said that it was a fair price. The representative informed me they only use the all brass because of issues they have had with the brass/plastic cartridges. Explained that I was provided the opposite information from Home Depot regarding the issues. I have replaced these cartridges on my own in the past. I've never paid that much for the piece. I am also displeased with their lack of follow up in their responsiveness to customer complaints.

They did a fantastic job. They were very professional. Joe was the tech and he did a fantastic job. Their price was lower than other companies who I contacted. They installed a very good product.

Russell showed up and did quality work and said that I didn't need to have to replace the the Canister Valve that I purchased (in addition to the other parts purchased).

Disaster! I got no response on the bid for the water heater, so the Charlie Swain (CS) tech shows up to do the other two jobs before I had received the information necessary to decide if and how I were going to proceed with the sink removal. Because of this, I ended up paying for a service call ($96) to only install the two shower heads (supposedly a couple of 5-minute jobs). That charge was supposed to have been folded into the sink removal charges. Then, he leaves me with a job that totally lacked professionalism. I texted photos to their office on 8/30. I asked how to hide up the yellow tape and keep the collars from falling down from the wall. That is over a week and there's been no response. I was about to remodel my bathroom and, obviously, take pride in my home. They didn't. I have yellow tape in my soon-to-be perfect white bathroom and the collars keep falling down. Installing the shower heads was the easy job that "anyone" with the right tools could do? The only good thing I can say is that the tech showed up on time and was pleasant. When I finally got a quote on the water heater installation (the tech had to call his boss to get it), it didn't include the electrician, roofer, or several other necessary items. I learned of the other tasks and materials when I got bids from CS's competitors, who seemed far more familiar with both installation of external gas water tanks and the permitting process in my community. I would never have known that all the other stuff was necessary until it were too late, if I had accepted CS's bid. I'm still not sure that CS even knew what else was needed. Lastly, when I was told that CS would put their verbal bid in writing after I had decided to proceed. I had to commit before I got a written bid?

Overall it went very well. Estimator arrived exactly when scheduled. Plumber arrived exactly when scheduled. Only problem was a problem with the color of the toilets being incorrect, which was not detected until late at night under artificial light. When I called they were very understanding and said they would make it right. They ordered a new unit and corrected the problem within a week. Very pleased overall.

I wish every company who came into my home to perform a service was as great as this company. Professional, clean, competent and above all, he took pride in his workmanship and craft. Plus, the price was great.

As a previous customer of Charlie Swain, I had high expectations. Those expectations were fulfilled. I highly recommend this company as honest, reliable, capable, and fair.

I had a problem with my plumbing plugging for years and could not get a straight answer from my plumber who wanted to charge me $350 to scope the line. This guy showed me how the vent was the problem. The line has inadequate pitch so when the vent gets plugged up, the line does not drain right and plugs. It is not just the money for the problem my old plumber was costing me, it was the aggravation and time off from work. Thank you Charlie Swain.

I'm renovating my bathroom, and had to replace the tub. I couldn't get the tub drain set and I had been "Playing" with it for over a week trying to figure it out. I spent a lot of money trying to do it myself, until I just couldn't do it anymore and gave up and called in the pros. And this guy was definatley a pro. He was in and out in less than an hour and a half. I think it took him longer to fill out the paperwork than to seat the tub and drain. Everything's worked great. They guy was nice, he charged me fair. will DEFINATLEY use this company again.

There is no Charlie Swain. The company is now owned by Plumbing Mart out of Boca who ?wanted a presence in the north area?. They came twice for the leak under the sink and replace toilet insides. The installer said ?even the new connections (under the sink) can leak immediately? and sure enough it did. Came back to fix the leak and fix the toilet again. I bought new parts for the toilet twice but they stripped the first set ( found pieces from the kit in the trash) and wouldn?t install the second set . Now after two attempts the toilet runs for over a minute before it fills. They wanted to come back a third time to fix it again but I am done with Charlie Swain/Plumbing Mart.
