Shep's Home Repairs

We live in Atlanta and my 89 year old Mom still lives in her home with caretakers. Trying to handle repairs from a distance was a nightmare. I got Diana's name from Angie's List and she has been the answer to a prayer. She fixed all the little things that needed doing and now checks on the house every few weeks to see if anything needs to be done. Mom's caretakers also know to call her if an emergency comes up. She is professional and the nicest person, taking the time to visit with my Mom.

Diana came and did the estimate for several small repair projects on time. She was extremely thorough in helping me decide the best way for the projects to be done. She subsequently returned on the scheduled day, on time, and finished the work as agreed to. She worked straight through the day (and it was a very hot day) and finished on time. She gave me some good advice about a couple of other projects while she was here. She did what she said she would do and did it competently.

Wonderfully! The furniture is sound. She worked efficiently and interpreted the directions quickly. It was her first Ikea furniture assembly, but you would not have known it by the way she tackled the job. The end table had been partially constructed and Diane had to take it apart. She figured out where I went wrong and assembled the table correctly. There were tons of screws.

She came when promised and finished the work in a timely manner.

Fantastic! Diane arrived on time and was fully prepared. She was able to identify alternative screws to attach the grill. She did a great job.

I sent an e-mail and never got a response.

I was extremely pleased with the professionalism and the quality work this contractor did for us. The price for the work was outstanding and everything we had her do was done right the first time. I can t help but recommend her to anyone in a real need of a contractor who knows what they are doing.

Found this vendor on Angie's List and called to schedule time to install ceiling fans and look at other possible projects in the home. Shep came on the day and time scheduled with a cheerful attitude. Each ceiling fan was a challenge due to previous homeowners unique electrical skills, but Shep addressed all challenges as they arose and did not get frustrated. She worked from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM with no lunch break. She tested everything before she departed and showed me how to change the bulbs and operate the remotes. She was very personable and professional. I plan to ask her back to work on other projects.

I left two messages on separate days but never got called back.

We were delighted to have found this contractor. She was very fast at fixing this problem and we were really happy because we knew it couldn't be replaced with the same model as it was discontinued.

Diane was a pleasure to work with. She pressure washed my house and painted the trim on the exterior, for a very reasonable price. She was neat, pleasant, easy to work with, and gave us a really excellent product. Her attention to detail, was quite keen. I would definitely hire her again, for various jobs around my house.

Excellent. Diane was very diligent in getting these projects done. She was on time and reconfirmed the appt. the night before. She was very good with letting me know when to expect her and what range of capabilities she has. I would recommend her highly for light handyman/woman work. She came up with some nice suggestions for my next round of projects which may save me some money and that is very much appreciated.

Diana first helped my husband move a lot of heavy items out of the damaged area. Then, two outside metal corners of the shed had to be removed to get to the rotted wood. It was very difficult to remove all of the wood, and Diana had to lay on her back on the ground to get at some of it. Once as much as possible of the rotten wood was removed, she replaced it with new wood. She cleaned up the work area and helped my husband move back the heavy items that had previously been up against that wall of the shed. We had a couple of other needed problems for Diana to work on, but she was totally drained by the shed repair which ended up being much more extensive than we realized it would be.

Diana was always on time, cheerful and ready to work. She's very neat and her price is very reasonable. She went above and beyond what was asked of her. I would hire her again.

Diane is prompt, reasonable and excellent in her work habits. If she cannot do a job, she will tell you (hasn't happened yet). Honest and now she is going to repair fascia, replace gutters and paint the outside of my house.

Diane did a very good job, and we plan on using her services again.

They were on time, did the work we had discussed even found a few other areas that needed fixing. They primed and painted the new wood and cleaned up everything. I have already recommended them to several friends and will definitely call them next time I need repairs to my house.

She's an absolute jewel! I found her through Angie's List and decided to give it a shot after disappointing experiences with various subcontractors. She tells you upfront what and what not she can do. She even climbed onto the roof to get the gutter cleaned! She did an amazing job in putting the new vanity in by cutting new holes for the pipes and fixing and covering the ones left by the previous handyman. She can be a bit chatty, but the quality of her work, her dedication to get the job done, and eye for detail (she figured out why my gutters aren't draining properly) out way by far the occasional conversation. She's coming back to replace cabinet lighting (can't find fitting replacements) and to finish up the hardware for the vanity. I whole heartedly recommend her even if she may not be able to do everything. If she cannot give an estimate for the whole job, she charges $20 per hour.

Contractor called evening after appt expected, said she spoke to a peer who told her beam was not decorative, but was a support beam. She stated she was not able to do structural work and disqualified herself. Unfortunately, she did not call earlier in day to cancel appointment. May hire her for appliance repair. Work done by another handyman and it was NOT a structural support beam.

Female handyman returns phone calls promptly, arrives on time, discusses your priorities and explains what she will do. She works hard and cleans up after herself. (Note that there are some types of work that are not within her expertise, for example: more complicated electrical work such as installing recessed lighting), She will let you know when you call if there is something on your list she doesn't feel qualified to do.

I checked Angie's list before hiring her, and agree with previous posts. She is on time, professional, knows her stuff, humble, and her pricing is reasonable. When she shows up, she's ready to work. Because she works by the hour, she's fast, efficient, and does a quality job. Walking through the house, she noticed a few things that I haven't even put on my list of repairs yet, and she fixed them on the spot. I may never have to look for another handyman again.

Diana said she would begin at 9 AM and she did. She is a very pleasant, knowledgeable handy person. She is very clean and left her work area the same as she found it. I am happy with all the repairs she made in my home.

It was an overall good experience. She worked hard, showed up on time and the work was done well. I plan to hire her again.

She arranged to come to my home at 8:00 AM, so I wouldn't have to miss work. She arrived at my house at 8:00 AM sharp. Boy was I suprised, a repair person on time. She repaired the dryer and was gone by 9:00 AM. The charge of $85 seemed reasonable for her labor and the part. I was happy when she told me she does a lot of different handy work. That was the second time she came to my home and I was happy both times, thanks to Angie's list.

She was very prompt and thorough. I didn't have the exact right piece for the fan to be hung, so she fabricated the proper length of the hanging pipe and wired it so it looked good. She was up and down on a 10 foot ladder all day, and never complained. I liked her. She has a good work ethic and attitude. I thought her price was reasonable considering she worked a full day.
