All of the details cannot fit into this limited number of characters, but a summary is as follows (plus, we are still coming across new damage everyday, and we were not given an inventory by the company, so we do not know exactly what is missing): - we reached an agreement for the company to pick up our property, assist with packing of certain items, move furniture, and then put it in place in the new house; the details of the move were such that the moving company had to hold the furniture in storage for a certain amount of time. We needed to extend the time that they were to hold the furniture, and though they initially said this wouldn't be a problem, they then charged almost $1,000.00 even though the furniture was already being stored, and there was no extra cost to them; - we paid the deposit and final payment with a cashier's check, but paid this additional amount with a credit card. After the payment was charged and deducted from our account, they said they need a photocopy of the credit card and my driver's license. They said they would not deliver the furniture unless this was done. This was just a few days before the move; - the furniture was supposed to be delivered late morning, but did not arrive until around 9:00 p.m. at night; - the truck driver was not the person who picked up our furniture, as agreed upon. He was not wearing a company shirt nor was there any way to guarantee that he in fact worked for the company. Though we had no way of knowing who the driver was, he demanded payment immediately or threatened to leave with our furniture. When we simply asked to see that our furniture was in the truck (merely opening the door), he again threatened to leave. We had no choice but to pay him. He started to bring in the furniture, and when we asked him to place certain pieces in certain rooms, he told us he wasn't our interior decorator. As soon as he unloaded all of the furniture, he walked out, leaving several pieces which were too heavy to move in improper places. Some of the furniture was upside down. He was rude, intimidating, and we were physically scared. We chose not to continue arguing with him because we were scared and just wanted him out of our house. - he also did not provide an inventory - several pieces of furniture were damaged, and a few boxes were missing. We also got a box with someone else's property in it. - several pieces of the damaged furniture were damaged in such a nature that is not normal or incidental to a move. For example, there looks like tread marks on one of the mattresses and water marks on the box spring. There is no proper explanation for this. We are a couple in our 60s who paid a good amount of money for what we thought was a full service move. We did not get close to the benefit of our bargain. This company appeared to try to do the bare minimum to make a buck, and they didn't even do that. Throughout the process, we were afraid we were going to get ripped off, and ultimately, that's what happened. We contacted the company to try to resolve this informally and have received no response. We may have no choice but to proceed with litigation.
Description of Work: They were hired to move our belongings from Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando, Florida, with services to include picking up furniture, assisting with packing, and placing furniture in location in new house. We felt like we were intimidated and extorted for additional money; furniture was delivered late, and not placed where it belonged. Several heavy pieces were just tossed in the main room, with some being left upside down; several pieces were damaged and/or missing; staff was rude throughout most of the process; staff changed terms of agreement just a few days before property was to be delivered, and threatened to not deliver furniture unless we agreed to new terms. I would never recommend this company again. They should be allowed to have a license to do business.

Response from MOVIN ON UP INC
We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to (member name removed) if she felt inconvenienced in any way. We would also like to address the following complaints (member name removed) had regarding our company and the service that was provided. (member name removed) received a visual estimate and was given a fixed binding estimate for her move from Weston, Fl to Oviedo, Fl, which was originally scheduled for a pickup and delivery for the same day January 30th, 2104. So the reason (member name removed) did not receive a copy of her inventory is because one was never made due to the fact her job was supposed to get direct delivery. We don’t provide any inventory for local jobs. (member name removed) even signed on the paperwork that she didn’t wish to have an inventory of her goods taken. The reason why (member name removed) was charged an additional fee for storage is because her items were never supposed to go to storage in the first place. Our company already had (member name removed) items on our truck ready to deliver when she called and stated that there was a discrepancy with the landlord of the new home she was moving into and she wouldn’t be able to move in the same day. Therefore, we had to have our movers drive back to our warehouse unload her items into our storage and then reload them again for when (member name removed) was ready to receive delivery. All of this incurred additional expenses to our company with the gas and labor of the men. In regards to the furniture arriving late (member name removed) was never promised a guaranteed delivery date she called two days before she wanted to request delivery of her goods and we informed her it was based upon availability. (member name removed) would have had her items the same day as her pick up if she hadn’t request for her items to be placed in storage. The reason why the driver was different from the driver who originally picked up (member name removed) items is because that driver was not available the day of her requested delivery he already had a different route that was scheduled prior to (member name removed) request for delivery. If (member name removed) didn’t request storage she would have been delivered by the same driver and same crew on the same day as originally agreed upon. However, like previously stated other arrangements had to be made on (member name removed) part. Our drivers usually do wear company shirts at all times as (member name removed) knows based upon the crew that picked her items up. However, the driver had previously come from another job where it was raining so he took his shirt off. It states our company name and licensing on the side of our truck so (member name removed) would have known he worked for our company. All of (member name removed) items were taken off the truck and placed where she wanted them. (member name removed) then continued to change her mind about where she wanted different items placed and the driver informed her he could no longer continue to keep moving items around. If there were any damages done to (member name removed) items we sincerely apologize and request that she contact our claims department who will be able to assist her with this matter. Here is their contact information CID No: 40511-02 (866) 300-1299. As far as a refund is concerned we do not feel our company is entitled to give one to (member name removed) in reference to her move. We provided the service to the best of our ability as far as reimbursement for damages the claims department will assist with that. We also think it is unacceptable of (member name removed) to ask our company for such a large amount especially considering all the expenses we incurred for her move. She even asked our dispatch manager to unethically give her an invoice with a higher amount than she actually paid for her move so she could give to her landlord and have him compensate her for a higher amount. The manager refused so we believe that this may be a tactic to get the remainder of that money from our company instead and that is offensive.
