Mr. Freeman is my knight in shining armor. I have been using his company for about five years now. I have never encountered a plumber so kind and genuinely interested in helping people with their problems. Plumbing is not a glamorous job and when people need a plumber its not under the best of circumstances so I can tell you if you are in that situation, you need JW Freeman Plumbing! His company is courteous, prompt, professional and you need not have any worries if you call them. Their prices a very fair and they are thorough. They also stand behind the work they do. I have, and will continue to, recommend them to everyone I know, they have never let me down. If this sounds like I am an extremely happy customer, I am, and that is because they are the best!

The guys who came out were prompt, professional and very friendly. They diagnosed the issue quickly and fixed it effectively. Their communication was top notch. They even contacted the water company on my behalf and followed up with me a couple times after the work was done. They really went above and beyond.

They gave me the name of the leak detection company who came out the next day after I called them. They found the leak at 1:30 I called JW Freeman and they were out in two hours and found and repaired the first leak and then the second. They stayed till the job was done. They cleaned up after themselves and I have never been so impressed. They will be my go to plumber from now on!

My biggest problem is with the bathtub leaky faucet. A different plumber said that to fix the leak, he need to break the ceramic tiles around the bath tub. It would take 2 hours of work and a new roman tub faucet. The total cost is about $500. And then I need to have a tile person to replace the open tiles. When BJ (from Freeman Plumbing) came, he said it is Delta faucet and just opened the handles and replace the stem unit assemblies. It took him 20 minutes to do the work. For that work, it costs me less than $100 with parts and labor versus $700. Saved me a lot of $ and time.

They came on time, finished in less than 3 hours and left it spotless. I was so impressed I have just hired them again to start on 2/27/15 with a major bathroom renovation which involved replacement of toilet, bathtub and shower head. plus removal of shower tile. I recommend them strongly as they do what they tell you they will do for a reasonable price.

Mr. Freeman answered the phone himself ( Yaaay! Someone who still answers the phone rather than letting it go to voicemail - much appreciated). He was very thorough in determining what I needed to have done and scheduling was quick and easy. Chris was the name of the plumber who came out. We hit some glitches with a sink that wasn't deep enough, another sink he found that was rusted through and a third that needed to be moved but wouldn't budge. Chris installed what he could and we ordered the new sinks. A few days later he returned and installed what was left. He did an excellent job, was prompt, courteous, and the price was quite reasonable. I would definitely recommend this company to a friend.

Jim took the time to help me, also saving me a service charge/labor charge, by giving me advice on how to fix the problem. I had used them once before a few months ago, but I don't assume that Jim knew that, yet he was still willing to help me. I will call them again when we need a plumber.
Description of Work: I called the plumbing company to inquire about the labor/service charge because I only needed help with a small issue and didn't want to pay too much. My previous Delta faucet in the shower had cracked and I had purchased a new one and attempted to replace it myself but got stuck on one thing. After hearing this, Jim (or James) asked me to text him a picture of the faucet and he would try to talk me through replacing it myself. That is exactly what happened and I was able to replace the knob myself.

At first the technician believed that the T&P valve had gone bad. He said that this was common and would be fixed if replaced. So he replaced it. That did not fix the problem at all. I still had to pay for the new valve even though I may not have needed it since nothing may have been wrong with the one that was removed. (I should have seen this coming as the valve was already fairly new to begin with). Then the technician said that if the problem wasn't the T&P valve, then he would see if it was pressure related. He checked the pressure and said it was too high and that was what is causing the drip. To fix this, he needed to install a pressure reducing valve. The pressure valve was installed, which lowered the pressure throughout the house (as expected). The problem appeared to be fixed although it was hard to say as the drip itself was already so minimal, some time had to pass before the water would build up. I asked if we could put the old valve on seeing as it was pointless to change it in the first place. The technician said "no" since he had already installed it. A few days later, water had begun to pool again, although at a slower rate than before. I did not call the company back because I am not a fan of "guessing" what the problem is and changing equipment piece-by-piece hoping that the problem will get fixed along the way. As a side note, the technician was very professional and courteous and I liked the company except for not understanding the problem enough to give me a concrete fix. When I have a problem, I want the answer, not possibilities that may or may not work that I will have to experiment with my wallet until it is figured out. I understand that not all problems and fixes are black and white, but upfront honesty would have been helpful here. (i.e., "It could be a number of issues causing the drip. I can try ABC first and it will cost XYZ. If that doesn't work, however, we will need to try something else which will cost ..."). This is preferable rather than telling me that the problem is definitely a T&P valve and it only costs XYZ to fix.
Description of Work: I called because there was a small amount of water dripping from an overflow nozzle inside the garage. Per the Invoice: "Drained and rotated heater. Replaced T&P valve. Reconnected hot line to heater with flex connector. Tested heater and re-lit pilot light. Installed pressure reducing valve at water meter and set pressure to 65 psi."

Response from JW Freeman Plumbing
We are very sorry to hear that our technician did not communicate the possible issues causing your T&P drip clearly. There are three things that can cause a T&P to drip and we try not to sell extra work that is not needed so we start with the least expensive most common issue first which is to replace the T&P valve. The next is that the city may have water pressure coming into your home at a PSI that is too high for the spring on your T&P to handle. When that is the case, we always replace the T & P vale while installing a pressure reducing valve since the old valve has been exposed to a very high pressure and the spring will usually go bad very soon or can not handle even regular pressure anymore. The price of 380 always includes changing the T&P even if it has not been done yet. We also can not reinstall old parts. The last and most expensive possibility is that there is a check valve on the water main in the yard somewhere that is locking the system so that as water heats up at the heater and expands it has nowhere to go and drips out of the T&P. When this is the case an expansion tank will need to be installed at the water heater. Many times, all three of these are an issue at once and need to be addressed together, especially in certain neighborhoods where it is very common, however, we try not to make repairs that are not necessary so that the customer is not overcharged. Again, I apologize if this was not communicated clearly beforehand and we will do our best to make sure it is addressed in the future. -James

The plumbers were and professional and explained what they were going to do before they did the work and showed me the work after completed. They were punctual and patient as I put my dog away. They were clean and neatly dressed. The only thing that threw me was the cost. I admit that I didn't call around to compare prices, I was impressed with the Angie's list rating for this company, and I didn't call anyone else. When I questioned them about the price, they told me that I saved money because two plumbers came and got the work done faster than if one had come. I did like the plumbers who came out, they were very pleasant and helpful.
Description of Work: They fixed a leaking tub and replaced parts from the tub: seats/springs/packing nut/handle. They changed bolts from a toilet that had rusty bolts and grouted around the bottom of the toilet to stop leaking there. They replaced the waxing and closet bolts from that toilet. They cleaned the hair out of a bathroom sink drain. They added acid to a toilet bowl that had mineral deposits.

After a very frustrating experience with another plumber who kept stringing me on for two days and couldn't give a firm date for service, I called JW Freeman. I received a call back from James within 5 minutes of leaving a message. He took my info and gave me an appointment time for the same day. Not only did BJ and Simon call ahead and show up on time, they were polite, dressed nicely (no plumber's crack here!), personable and fixed my problem in a timely fashion. The price was extremely reasonable and well worth the work they performed. I'm so excited to say that I now have a new plumber!! Already planning on having them come back for some regular maintenance and preventative work. Thank you so much!! Yes. I am gushing!

Everything went according to plan. The crew were professional, friendly and worked quickly. The price we paid was a little more than we had been quoted from a few other plumbers, but the plumber who gave us our quote went out of his way to explain exactly what they'd be doing and why. He even modified his plan at no cost to us after we requested separate lines from the attic to the toilets (normally they extend the pipes from the sink to the toilets, but we didn't want to put holes in our cabinets). This isn't the first job they've done for us and it won't be the last!

I can't say enough positive things about the work James and JW Freeman Plumbing did for me. They repiped the entire house, acted as a general contractor of sorts in arranging for a gas hot water heater install (including coordinating GRU to install gas to the house). I was out of town during all of the work and James was very responsive and a pleasure to interact with (answering all of my questions in a very timely manner). As I write this review, I am actually requesting them to come out again and install a new toilet for me.

Called James about noon said he would send someone out between 3 and 5 got a call about 2:45 that they were on their way. Met BJ and Joey who quickly started diagnosing the problem, like true professionals, within an hour drain was cleared. They even pointed out issues with my hot water heater supply lines that they quickly repaired. Very friendly, very quick, very professional.... They worked non stop. These guys clearly new what they where doing A+++ all the way? James even phoned to check on his guys will definitely call JW Freeman when ever I need a plumber.
Description of Work: Cleared a blocked drain that had plagued a rental house for some time making laundry, kitchen and pool bathroom practically unusable. After drain was cleared they used a drain camera to double check. Another service, a national chain, wanted to charge $500.00 just to use the same camera to diagnose problem.

Pretty good overall. They failed to properly install a few items and had to be called back to do more work as a result. They removed water hammer breakers and failed to replace them. The biggest thing is that they failed to obtain a permit and had no inspections as a result.

Thanks for your feedback! We would like to improve our services in anyway that we can and your feedback is gladly accepted. We are also happy to address these items. We did fail to install a piece of insulation on an exterior pipe. Our team had worked until after dark to insure that the water would be back on that day and in the poor light it was overlooked. As soon as it was brought to our attention we gladly fixed it. We did not pull a permit because it was not required for the amount of the system that was being replaced and find that most homeowners do not like having to schedule time to meet with an inspector if it's not necessary. We did however offer to pull a permit and have our work inspected for no charge after concerns were raised but the offer was declined. The water hammer breakers that were part of the old system were removed because they were in the way of the new system and were not replaced because they are not required for the new type of piping in that location. We will however be returning the ones that were removed and or installing new ones, whichever is preferred. The price of the job was a written quote that was agreed to several days before work began. After we began the project we performed additional work (installed a customer supplied lav faucet, replaced the hose bib in the front yard, added a hose bib to the utility room) all as a courtesy with no charge for the labor or materials. We very much enjoyed working with you. You are very knowledgeable about your home and many of the things that you told us about it were very helpful in the installation and design of the new system. You were also very courteous in preparing your home for us before we arrived and were very helpful while work was being performed. If there is anything that we can do from this point to improve satisfaction please let us know and we would be happy to do so. -James Freeman

Both times that they came went smoothly. The first time they weren't able to use the camera because of some heavy rain. The second visit cost us nothing. I was very happy with their service and promptness.
Description of Work: Our shower drain was backing up. After using Drano and a pipe snake ourselves to no avail we decided to call in the pros. They came out the same day we called and flushed out the pipes; when they left, it was draining fine. Fast forward three showers and the drain was backing up again, just as badly. We called and they came back to take a second look. This time they put a camera down the line and saw that our pipes are in pretty bad shape (which didn't surprise us as our home is over 40 yrs old and in need of repiping anyway). They were able to clear the drain some, but without a complete repipe, the problem will keep coming back.
