D & R Electrical Svc

Phillip called ahead when he was coming and arrived at the appointed time. After going over what needed to be done he had a good suggestion for an improvement to my original plan concerning where the switches for the fans and lights should be located. He went to work and worked effiiciently. He had to stop once to make a trip to Home Depot for parts. Otherwise he had everything else he needed on his truck. He completed the work. Everything works as it should and he cleaned up the area before leaving. I am satisfied with D&R Electrical and would certianly use them again.

Over the past several years, D & R Electrical Services has been to my home 3 separate times for 3 different projects. All 3 were completed with perfection and with great professionalism. This latest project was to install recessed lighting in a bedroom. This was a particularly difficult project because there was no access to the very narrow space above the ceiling. Without that access you could not determine how the recessed cans would fit between the joists and trusses, which ran both laterally and diagonally for this particular roof style. Can placement had to be away from the walls to allow dispersion of light outside of wall cabinets, and outboard of a center mounted ceiling fan to avoid the strobe effect. All this had to be done without knowing what was above the ceiling. A tough set of project parameters. Randy was my electrician and he informed me up front that I might have some 'extra' holes in the ceiling that I might have to repair should he have problems finding acceptable locations for the recessed cans. He said we could cancel the work order if we wished, based on the fact that he did not have above ceiling access, or he said that he had done a lot of recessed lighting and he would use all his experience to get the lighting installed with minimal inconvenience to me with regard to repairs. I decided to trust his experience. Randy walked around the house several times looking at how the roof was constructed and measured dozens of times on the ceiling trying to find the best locations to start the holes for the recessed cans. Bottom line..., by lunchtime the project was completed with zero required repairs. Lights, switches, etc. all installed with perfection. This guy is good! Thanks Mark and Cassie for placing the right person on this tough job. You all will be back a 4th time for another project.

Lance and Co did an excellent job. Showed up on time worked through rain to complete my job.

The job took two full days. The job came in well under the estimate. We feel much safer having had this work done.

Excellent job start to finish, and I am very impressed with the work and attitudes of everyone I talked to. The electricians were professional and very capable and worked hard to ensure the job was done right. They went the extra mile to be sure I was happy with the job. I have already asked them to come back soon to fix some work I had done by another contractor that was not done right. Thanks to Angies list and D&R I have a new electrician I can trust!

Mark provided a good written estimate, scheduled start of the project within a few days, always showed up on time, and was upfront with necessary changes. Josh the lead electrician was extremely professional and accomodating. We had a problem with a light fixture/fan purchased at Home Depot and he waited until we could run up to Home Depot and exchange it for the correct fixture. Very pleased with their price & service.

By 3:00 we had the pendant lights hung, the chandelier and I think 1 fan/light in one bedroom. I was beginning to wonder how long the job would take and asked Lance and he said it would be done "today" as he had other jobs the next day. Not to go on and on but that is how the day went. We had a friend coming for dinner at 6:30 and he was still here, 1 fan in the living room and both bedrooms done. He had cut the poles to fit and the chandelier was hung. We ate dinner, visited, and our friend left around 8. Lance was still here. He discovered the 2 switches I had bought would not work as he thought so he made several calls to his boss and they arranged to use switches off his truck at no charge to us. However at 9:30 he was still balancing and syncing the Living Room fans. After he was completely done we threw the boxes in a construction dumpster across the street and he cleaned up his small pieces of wire. I had by now taken a shower and was giving myself a manicure. He wrote up the bill with further consultation to his office and I paid by credit card. He left at 10:15PM. In retrospect, I should have called his office mid day and asked them to send him help. He obviously needed a helper to hand the fans, assemple them and install switches. I picked this company due to the reviews and am not unhappy with the result, just the inconvenience of being home the entire day and such a long install. If I were to use again, I would find out how long they tingk the job would take and ask for enough people to be sent to complete the work in a realistic time frame. We could have unpacked the fans and lights and helped put them together if we had known at 9:00 AM what we knew at 10:15!

I called and explained what we needed to have done. The lady answering the phone was very nice and told me she would talk with the estimator and call me back. Within an hour or so she called back and explained the charges. I told her I wanted to proceed with the work and she scheduled me for the next day and gave me a 3 hour window in the afternoon. She wanted to make sure she had my cell phone number so I could run errands if need be and still be contacted. She said the technician would call me 30 minutes prior to coming to the house. The next day, Lance the man performimng the work called and asked if he could come a bit earlier than originally planned since he had finished his first job early. He was able to come about a half hour earlier then proposed which was absolutely fine with us. Lance was courteous and worked steadliy making sure that everything he did was satisfactory with us. He cleaned up after himself, explained everything completely, and even offered to help us move some furniure back into place. He gave an estimate for another project we want to do and we will certainly have this work done by D&R. We would recommend them to anyone looking to have electrical work done.

They called about 20-30 min. before arrival, and when they arrived within 30 min. of scheduled time, they walked through each project and checked to see if we had the correct light fixtures, fan, remotes that would work with what we had. Unfortunately, we didn't. Old houses never have the "right" wiring, etc. But they were great and very adaptable. One of their guys went to Home Depot to pick up what they needed for new wiring of light fixture, and I went to Home Depot to pick up different remotes that would fit our Hunter fans. While we did this, the other technician continued to do the repairs. They did a great job, cleaned up, did a final check of everything, and even gave a quick lesson on how to use the new remotes. They made suggestions of how to label the different remotes and gave us options. Very professional, and neat and clean. You could tell they knew what they were doing. While they were there, we asked about the new flat screen tv that we were getting, and they said they do install them, too. They looked at our current setup, and they gave us suggestions on how we could install the new, bigger system. We will definitely be bringing them back to install our new flat screen tv!

Absolutely fantastic service, very attentive, and great workmanship. We bought a new hot tub and realized after it was delivered the outlet from our house wasn't working. I called D&R Electrical and the technican came the same day to look into the problem, realizing we wanted to use the new hot tub as soon as possible. This happened on a Friday, which is pretty incredible. Not being able to find the issue with our electrical outlet, the company re-arranged their schedule and came again on Monday to set-up a dedicated outlet for the hot tub, and we are up and running. I truly would recommend D&R for their exemplary service, friendly technicans and prompt and courteous service. We will def use them again for our future electrical needs.

Came on time. Reviewed what needed to be done on the job. He examined a new timer I had purchased and advised that it would need an additional device. He provided the stock number so I could run to the local Home Depot and purchase while he worked on other issues. He advised that plug covers be added and installed them. He then installed a fan switch for a sophisticated fan. He was very conscientious about cleaning up and being sure everything worked before leaving.

Josh and Randy were not only punctual, but I forgot they would call before they came and I was out riding my bike with my phone. They had tried to get in touch with me twice and I was also sent a text message from the receptionist by the time I could get to my phone. Once I contacted them they set me back in the queue and were still on time from the original estimate. They looked at everything we wanted done, then gave us an estimate. Then they just went to work and it was like they were not even here. They finished, cleaned everything up beyond reproach, reviewed the bill with me and then before leaving asked to contact them if I have any questions. They truly did an awesome job and I would highly recommend this company to anyone. I also had spoken to the receptionist several times before they came out and she was VERY helpful and her hints allowed us to save a few dollars by purchasing things ourselves before Josh and Randy came out. My wife and I wish more businesses were this well run.

Lance was on time and was aware of the things that needed attention. He went right to work and even answered a ton of questions non related while he was working. He did the work and informed me of what he had done the cost involved. I was pleased with the price and the amount of work that was done in the time frame it was done. I would use them again!!!

A fantastic vendor who is very customer oriented. Responsive and easy to work with. Quality work was evident throughout. Workers were very friendly and freely discussed their work and asked questions to satisfy the customer needs. Very happy with their work and highly recommend them. This is the 3rd time I have used them in upgrading my home

The two men that came were VERY nice & Professional. They went above and beond. I will use them again in a Heart Beat!

Josh and Ian arrived promptly and went to work immediately on my electrical issues. The primary problem was that 3 outlets, including 1 gfi outlet had all failed within several hours of each other. Josh found the problem fairly quickly then he went to work finding the cause which he found in the electrical panel and some rewiring was needed. After repairing the problem in the panel Josh and Ian began looking into some other issues and resolved each of those for me. They were in the house 3 hours and 90% of the charge was labor. They were efficient, knowledgeable, concientious, personable and didn't waste any time getting the work done. The really nice thing about these guys, and as I see it for the company in general, is that if a problem has anything to do with electricity, even if the problem itself isn't electrical, these folks will work on it. Garage door openers, fans etc..... Both employees were very personable and competent and Josh is a standout! If I have an electrical or associated need in the future, D&R will be my first phone call.

Our service provider was Adam, a true professional and very experienced. He called 30 minutes prior to arrival, arrived on time and went right to work. He determined where our problems were, replaced our GFI and then from there fixed some very odd electric issues we had. This included a tangle of electrical wires which were part of a 3 way system that was wired incorrectly. Our lights, fans, and outlets on the lanai had stopped working. It was truly a puzzle but he was able to sort through it and correct it!

Arrive in time and still working outside when I left to work!!They did all they said and fix the problems. Really good service.

I gave my 90-year-old mother the contact information of D & R Electrical Services as I had given her a membership in Angie's List for a gift and she didn't know how to access it from her computer. She needed to have her electrical panel replaced in her home or she wouldn't be able to get homeowner's insurance. She called and was asked numerous questions about what needed to be done. D & R gave her an estimate of $1100. She also called a couple of other places that gave her an estimate of $3700. Yikes! So anyway, D & R came out at 9am and worked diligently until 6pm to complete the job. My mother said he worked very hard and cleaned up perfectly. She was dreading having the electricity off all day because the temp was in the mid-90s. The worker turned on the electricity around 3pm so she didn't die of heat while he finished up the job. The estimate was right on coming in right under $1100. D & R also volunteered to take pictures and present proof to her insurance company that she did indeed replace the electrical panel so that she can get homeowners insurance. I would say that is a great company with great customer service. My mother said she wouldn't hesitate to call D & R Electrical Services again if she needs any electrical work done on her home. The electrician showed up on time and was extremely professional, polite, and very thorough. He listened, completed the job quickly, explained what he was doing, and made good suggestions. He cleaned up after the job and made sure I was satisfied with the work. I will be using them again.

For about two weeks, power would go out intermittently for 2-10 minutes in several rooms of my house. I checked all the obvious stuff (circuit breakers, GFCIs, etc.) but couldn't find the problem. I called on a Monday. They arrived the next day. It took them about 90 minutes to find and repiar the root cause -- the electrical line from LCEC to my house was loose. They were polite and professional and answered all my questions.

I called late in the afternoon and even though it was at last minute, Josh was there within an hour and a half. He was there when promised, he was courteous, professional and meticulous in his work. He was extremely pleasant and respectful to both my wife and myself.
