Affordable Window Systems

The entire experience was excellent. Peter was very easy to talk with, gave good advice and worked with us on the pricing. He answered all our questions honestly and completely. The windows and doors were delivered in a timely fashion and as promised. Polusa Construction did the installation. Greg and his team were very pleasant, professional, and cleaned up everything. We could not have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Affordable Windows to anyone!

It was a wonderful experience, from the minute Peter Merhige gave us the sales pitch (he was extremely knowledgeable on high-impact solutions) til the guys from Polusa Construction finished the installation. The Polusa crew showed up on time, were very professional, cleaned up after themselves, and did a fantastic job getting the windows and doors to fit. We would highly recommend these folks to anyone!

Twenty inoperable jalousie windows are now gone! Pete took the time and demonstrated all the benefits of the sate of the art residential windows he offered at the cost of contractor grade lesser quality windows. His winning personality and great support staff made working with Affordable a no brainer! Custom built for my home, whereas all the other companies I interviewed wanted to customize my home to their windows. I'm still in awe of Double hung windows at single hung home improvement store prices! My Affordable Windows experience simply put, I don't think I could afford NOT to have them! Affordable contracted POLUSA out of Sarasota to do the actual installation. NASCAR pit crews could learn from this team! Never an idle hand, one continuous fluid motion of quality workmanship! Each team member inspected each other's work and if anything even the most miniscule error was spotted, 10 hands were there to remedy the situation. I know this review is supposed to be about Affordable Windows and it IS! Who they contract to do actual installations is just as important as the superior products they sell. Affordable Windows customer service is 2nd to none as well. Even after all work was completed they still are as considerate and helpful in remedying issues caused by other contractors.

I researched very thoroughly on Angies list and selected Affordable Windows to do the work. Peter Merige was very knowledgable and likeable and he proved to be an excellent choice. Affordable Windows applied and got the required permitting. They told us that Greg from Polusa Corp would be here to do the final measuring and subsequently the install. We were given a date for the install and, that day, the team arrived about 9.30AM. There were four men in the team led by Greg and they were an outstanding team. they set to work immediately and each man knew his task and was expert at it. We were lucky to have them working for us. By about 4.30PM they were finished. No tiny detail was missed. Everything was left immaculate. All furnishing had been covered carefully before they started work. Despite undertaking such a huge task and getting it professionally completed in one day, they then asked if we would like assistance with any furniture etc. my husband is disabled and was not well on the install day and they worked quickly to let him get back to bed and cosy. They also removed some old hurrican blinds which had been taken off the house prior to their arrival. This relieved the stress for me as they were all heavy and awkward to handle. Zero was charged for this extra work. Greg then arranged for the Lee county inspector to come and check out the installation. He asked when we would like to have the inspection and I replied ASAP. The next morning the inspector came and remarked what an excellent job had been done.

They have been very attentive with any issues and has corrected everything to my satisfaction. We had a window that was mis-measured and they knew that I was travelling and went far beyond what I ever expected and got the new window installed before I went out of town for two months. There installers and office staff and Peter are all very knowledgable, professional, and polite. We are more than pleased.

WONDERFUL. We visited the showroom on Christmas Eve. Despite sending his office staff home early for the holiday, Peter Merhige, the owner, spent two hours with us explaining all the choices and answering all questions without rushing us. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He followed us out to the house the same day to take measurements and write up a proposal. We were so impressed with the product and the obvious work ethic of the owner that we signed immediately. The day of construction, the crew arrived at 7:55AM and started working at 8AM promptly. Within twenty minutes they had already begun replacing windows and cutting through the concrete wall in preparation for the installation of the sliding door. We saw three men at the start, but by 8:30 there were seven more and every one of them was busy. They did an absolutely perfect job. We could not have asked for better service. Each time we felt the need to call the office with a question we were treated by Peter and his staff as if we were their only customers. We would not hesitate to recommend Affordable Windows to anyone in the area in need of windows or doors.

We couldn't be more pleased with our new windows and doors. Our thirty year old house looks almost new. Affordable Window Systems was the third vendor we interviewed (all highly rated on Angie's List). We wanted vinyl windows, but the first two vendors recommended aluminum because we have some narrow windows and because the vinyl frames were thicker than aluminum, we would have less light. This was a major concern for us. When we met Peter, the owner of Affordable Window Systems, he showed us vinyl windows that had sash lines on the top that were almost as narrow as the ones on the botton so they had the appearance of the narrow aluminum frames the other vendors recommended. Peter came to our home and spent about an hour looking at each of our windows and sliding glass pocket doors. He explained some issues that would be encountered with the installation and what the solution would be "just so there would be no surprises". We were very impressed with Peter, the product he offered, and the proposal he presented so we signed the contract. He sent the installer (Greg from Polusa Construction Corp.) out to do the measurements. We also were very impressed with Greg. Peter scheduled us for the day that was best for us and the installers arrived on time. They worked hard for two days and did an amazing job.They had to "build" a new frame on one side the sliding pocket window in the kitchen and it looks great. The frames of the four new sliding glass pocket doors had a metal riser that protruded upwards about an inch from the floor. Greg went to Home Depot and got wood to build a threshold for each door so no one would trip over the riser. He did a beautiful job. They would have finished our job on the third day, but on the second day we saw the interior/exterior doors and we thought they were not the doors we orded. One was a door to the outside from the garage and it was opaque but the glass looked different from the opaque windows in the bathroom and we were concerned that you could see through the glass. The other door was a bathroom exterior door that had a full length glass panel and I thought we were getting a half glass panel like the existing door. Peter came out to our home and listened to our concerns. He explained that opaque doors have glass that looks somewhat different than opaque glass in windows but that you can not see through the glass. He said the full glass panel in the bathroom door matched the four sliding glass pocket doors so there was symmetry when you see all of the doors from the lanai. But he said if we were unhappy with the doors after they were installed he would take care of it. Greg and his crew came back on a Saturday, two days later and installed the doors. We love them. Greg and his crew did a terrific job. They were meticulous with all details related to the installation and they kept the workspace very clean at all times. They cleared out all of the debris each day and hauled it all away. The inspector came a few days later and remarked on what a good job the installers had done. We hightly recommend Peter and his company and Greg.

It was expensive. Then they brought the wrong-size door and I had to wait another month. Then they finally showed up with the right door and installed it. The door works okay. They showed up when they said they would. The inspector has yet to come and he hasn't showed up yet. It was supposed to be inspected project by the County. It has been pretty crappy.

We did not hire this company due to the fact the estimate was a lot more than we had figured. (our mistake) They were very, very knowledgeable, and a real first class outfit. Decided to put this repair off until next year. Two other estimates were less but still above our budget.

Very pleasant company and knowledgeable. Good communication, respectful, polite, and friendly. My need was just outside their field of expertise, and they could not perform the task required.

The windows are wonderful The screens not so much, the manufacturer cannot seem to make the correct size But Peter and Cathy are pursuing and I am confident all will be done to my satisfaction

They were great! We were very happy! They came in with a crew to do the install. They took out and replaced the windows in one day. To me, that is a miracle!

It was relatively good, it wasn't perfect. Generally they did a good job except that they didn't put a ding on the floor, some of the adjustments of the doors I self adjusted myself later.

We had our family room & Kitchen sliders replaced with impact glass back in February. Were so happy with the completed job that when an old awning window broke and had to be replaced we called Peter to get a price on replacing the remaining windows in our house. Polusa Constructrion did the install again. They are a very punctual, efficient and hard working group. And Cathie in the office at Affordable Windows was spot on with her follow ups on a solution for our requests. This is a great group of people to work with.

Buyer beware with this company, affordable should not be in the name of the company. We did our research before meeting with this company representative and the prices were extrememly high. Every time we got a call back we were offered another one time because we were so wonderful discount. Obviously they try and bill as much as possible hoping you will accept the price. We don't do business with this type of company. We were also told that we should replace all our windows, they were contractor grade windows which we knew was not true. At least honesty is not in the company name.

Everything went extremely well. Excellent work. They offered a 100% satisfaction guarantee where they would not deposit the check until I was completely happy. Something that's unheard of today. Great company.

Everything went great. We had an in-home visit by the owner Peter M. in late February and followed up with a show room visit to see all the different options offered the first week of March. We signed a contract at the show room with an estimated installation of 4-6 weeks after the ARC of our Homeowner's Association approved the project. Unfortunately, the project was delayed a few weeks as we had to wait for the April ARC meeting to get approval. After approval in mid-April the installation was completed on May 23 within the estimated time range of 4-6 weeks. The installation crew consisted of three individuals and they were very professional, friendly, and efficient. They completed the 8 windows in one day. The installers were very conscientious with everything they did and did a great job on clean up as they progressed from one room to the next. We found no damage to the interior paint and only a few nicks on the exterior that will require minor touch up on three windows. Prior to selecting Affordable Windows we had two other estimates from local companies and I spoke with 3 other companies at local home shows during the past year. We found the pricing competitive but Affordable was not the lowest estimate we received. However, I felt the product was the best in our price range.

They had an outrageous bid. They came out right away, took about two days to get back with the quote and they were personable.

The owner of the business, Peter Merhige, came to our home and made the presentation. I was in the middle of a plumbing project with my next door neighbor helping me and Peter waited patiently for almost an hour until I finished working on our plumbing to make his presentation. We wanted to see the actual window before we made a decision, so Peter invited us to his showroom to see all the available windows he sells. After seeing all the different windows, we decided to purchase a more expensive window because the quality was so much better. The people who installed the windows, POLUSA Construction Corp., were very professional and some of the hardest working people I have seen. They finished the job ahead of schedule, with minimunl damage, and cleaned up the mess when they were finished. Our Insurance Company wanted pictures of the windows so I took the pictures and since I do not know how to down load them on the computer and E-mail them, Kathy Leslie at Affordable Windows volunterred to E-mail the pictures for us. We are very happy with our new windows. We have noticed that the A/C does not run as much and as an added suprise there is much less outside noise. We will recommend Peter Merhige and Affordable Windows to anyone who is looking for their products.

Never heard back from them. After reading wonderful reviews, I called Peter. His office manager answered and could not have been nicer. She took down my information...I live out of town and needed windows replaced on a condo on Sanibel. Peter called me back. I sent photos, measurements, etc. He called back with some prices, which were great. He was going to check availability on when the windows could be ordered then installed...and that's the last I heard from him. I called back several times and spoke to the office manager each time. Again, very, very nice. She said she saw my "file" on his desk, and she'd put it front and center so he couldn't miss it. He must have missed it. Haven't heard from them in two months now, after calling and calling, so I'm very very reluctantly going to have to go with another company. Both Peter and his office manager were so very nice. Maybe he's just swamped with bigger projects than mine, which is fine, but it would be nice to know.

We highly recommend this company. Peter was excellent in explaining all about the product and what to expect when replacing the older doors with newer, thicker high impact doors. They installed a molding that looks fantastic. They were efficient, courteous and timely. They were also neat in their work. We were pleasantly surprised by the reduction of outside noise. We live near a school and at pickup/drop off time cars line up along our street with their radios and motors running?now we don?t hear them. Also, now it is so easy to reach over my kitchen sink and open the slider window with one finger?love it!

Not well for me, maybe you will have better luck? Maybe you should call a few hours before your appointment to confirm that they are on schedule & they are going to show up.

The windows are high quality and look great. Mike and the installers were very professional and nice to work with.

We found the Company on Angies List, the owner Peter was excellent in explaining all about the product which convinced us to have them installed. We had five white vinyl windows installed, they look great, well made with the latest features. One of the special things we liked is that they are "Storm Proof" and do not require Storm Shutters, it is worth the money to have this feature plus their insulation from heat and cold. We are considering in the future to have this type of window installed in the rest of the house and will use the same Company.

He was prompt & obviously knows his stuff. Considering he had to travel quite far for parts the price was very reasonable. Also it is nice to deal with owner operator.
