Working with Kevin was a pleasure. He is honest, reliable and very good at what he does. We had our kitchen cabinets refaced and a new granite countertop installed. Kevin was punctual, dependable, honest, and trustworthy. Our 43 year old kitchen was a challenge with its odd shaped cabinets with many rounded corners and beveled edges that he was able to overcome, square it up, and make it beautiful. We changed out some appliances and he was able to resize and modify cabinets with his carpentry skills to make them fit. He works alone and I had no problem giving him a key to my house so he could get the job done on time as promised. ( he actually finished a day early). The cost was reasonable and included everything except the counter top -- we used his recommended granite contractor who had our counter tops ready and installed in a few days so Kevin could finish the installation on time.

The bottom line: Hudson Valley Kitchen Refacing surpassed our expectations, delivered on their promises, executed the work professionally and on time, and ultimately gave us the kitchen of our dreams������������ at a cost that was lower than the estimates and bids from two big box stores known for home repair and supplies! We first met with Kevin and, although we were unsure about hiring an unknown independent contractor, he approached our outdated kitchen with thoughtful creativity and a master craftsman������������s eye for detail. That first meeting lasted for several hours. He truly listened to what we wanted and helped us brainstorm on some of the design challenges we had no solutions for. You will find that he is not just a random contractor trying to get you to accept one of his five or six pre-determined kitchen designs that he always does. He approached our project as a true collaborator and designer and proved to be a first rate fabricator as well. He changed the entire look of our kitchen by adding a top row of smaller glass-door cabinets that added much needed storage and solved the issue of the previously empty space created by a vaulted ceiling. (Building those cabinets was something that neither of the other bidders would do. They told us they could only do refacing.) Kevin tied in the new cabinets to the old so well that it all looks as if they were always there. He also changed the depth of our shallow drawers replacing them with stronger and better quality soft-closing drawers. Kevin also created a lighting design within the upper cabinets that gives the entire space a soft, rich glow. The materials he uses are first rate and well constructed. He arrived every day on time and ended his day around 4:30, cleaning up after himself so that we could use the kitchen every night. He works steadily but welcomes questions and patiently explains the process as it happens. His personality and demeanor really puts the consumer at ease. Kevin earns your trust and confidence in him with each passing day. Know that your trust in him is well placed and truly justified. The results speak for themselves. We really love our new custom kitchen and have received loads of compliments about it. We highly and heartily recommend Hudson Valley Kitchen Refacing without reservation. Working with Hudson Valley Kitchen Refacing was a pleasure. Kevin has the eye that is needed to offer advice and the talent to deal with the unexpected items that came up when refacing our 50+ year old kitchen. Kevin���s carpentry skills were very helpful to our job; our room has a stem wall and he suggested adjusting the height and fully closing the pass-through in the wall. Drawer widths and several cabinets were also reconfigured. This has given our kitchen an updated look much beyond that of simply refacing the cabinets. The job started on time, finished on time and was done in a clean, personable and professional manner. Kevin insures that the granite company that he uses performs to his high standards. An added bonus for us: likes dogs. This is a man that takes tremendous pride in his work, and my wife and I are very happy with the finished job. I would not hesitate to recommend.

The job was so much more than cabinet refacing. Kevin is also a master carpenter. He built an island and a bay window seat, both of which look phenomenal (as do the cabinets). Not only did he do all he carpentry himself, but he also uninstalled all my old appliances, re-wired the electrical for new appliances, and installed the new appliances...all without charging extra. The remodel was done on time with little disruption. Kevin was fantastic to work with. He genuinely cares about his customer's satisfaction.
