Don't usually write reviews, however this company was simply amazing! I did a lot of research online. Read countless horror stories, so was really skeptical. Brought in a few different movers for bids for a move from New York to Florida. All were professional. Also, all but one, were relatively competitive on price and all gave locked-in quotes which was reassuring. Joseph Barton, Inc. and their representative (Victor Calcano) was the only mover to stand out in a number of places. Joseph Barton, Inc. was the only mover willing to take our 2 cars and put them on his truck. The rest of the movers either subcontracted out the job or left it up to us to get an automobile transport company. Moving is stressful enough. Didn't feel the need to add additional complexity to the situation. Next deciding factor was giving us the whole truck (no other families' belongings were also going to be on the truck) for the entire moving process. That meant certainty in terms of arrival time far in advance. Most of the movers give you a window of arrival of up to 2 weeks (it can take up to 14 days before you see your belongings depending on in what order you were loaded on the truck, how many families are on the truck, and to what destinations those other families are moving to.) As a result, you don't know the exact day of arrival until the actual moving day. By having a known arrival time far in advance, it allowed us to book the rental car and hotel room for a certain set of dates, thus saving money and allowing us receive our belongings much sooner (in only 4 days). Finally, they promised the most employees (8) to show up to pack and unpack us, which meant they would get done as soon as possible. Throughout the whole process, the communication between us and them was excellent. On the day of the move, they showed up on time (8 A.M.), and with the amount of employees promised (8). The employees (led by Junior) were extremely professional, friendly and courteous and never took a break! They were able to carefully wrap all the furniture and move all our belongings from a 2 story (4 bedroom house) in only 4 1/2 hours! Every other moving company that moved people into or out of our neighborhood usually took all day and sometimes part of the night as well to finish the job. By finishing early, it instead allowed us to finish other jobs that we had planned for the following day that day! The moving-in day went just as smooth (they, again, arrived on time with our belongings and cars, and with the number of employees (8) promised). Mr. Calcano, also surprised us, by arriving with the crew to help oversee the move-in, and address any concerns or problems that we might have had (Even though we didn't encounter any problems or have any concerns, it was still very nice to see someone that we knew from the company show up and be there just in case we did!)!. His crew, again, literally did not take a break whilst still carefully moving us in (nothing was broken)! They finished up the move-in in only 4 hours! We were able again to again utilize the day by doing some unpacking and getting some much needed rest. Was dreading the moving process and Joseph Barton, Inc. made it as stress-less as it could possibly be! I can't speak highly enough of Joseph Barton Inc. (Mr. Calcano and his crews)! Would definitely recommend them to anybody in Florida or on Long Island - N.Y. (they also have an office in Farmingdale on the Island) that needs to move!
