Our experience with Direct Relocation Services started off great. The salesperson - Richard - was very attentive and treated me (in CT) and my elderly parents (in GA) very nicely. Unfortunately, the experience deteriorated very quickly as we approached moving day and our full-service move (**do not worry... we will take care of everything** Richard said), especially as the estimate started to increase more and more. What started out as moving a 2-bedroom apartment from GA to CT for $7,450 soon grew - of course, after Direct Relocation Services received our 35% deposit - to $13,494.00 (AFTER the virtual walkthrough 4-days before the move), to $15,429.00 (BEFORE pick-up), to $18,817.05 (AFTER pick-up), to - finally - $19,767.05 (BEFORE drop-off). We soon learned that back in GA no boxes had been labeled, hang-up clothes from closets literally had been dumped into numerous (and more expensive) garment boxes rather than hung-up appropriately on metal rods, and countless items had been wrapped poorly (and thus broken). To top it off, Direct Relocation Services transferred my elderly parents belongings to another company for the long-haul, which then delivered the items using an unmarked 18-wheel semi (again, for a 2-bedroom apartment) which - due to its size - could not even drive into the first local storage facility we rented. In the end, we still cannot find many items (i.e., legs to a dining room table, etc.) and we are still going through boxes because the movers labeled absolutely nothing. In short, this appears to be a clear example of a moving company - Direct Relocation Services - taking advantage of an infirmed elderly couple (I was not there for pick-up... remember, Richard said, **do not worry... we will take care of everything**). Oh, and when I tried to pay the company AFTER pick-up using a wire transfer (60% of the **new** remaining balance and AFTER they already had my parents belongings in their possession), my bank declined the charge because of a history of issues with this vendor (I guess that is why they usually only take cash or something called a postal service money order). And after moving day arrived, every time I tried to call Richard? Crickets. So much for customer service. So, not only would we NOT recommend Direct Relocation Services to anyone, soon we will be filing formal complaints with State Attorney Generals in both GA and CT as well as pursuing possible legal action against the company to recover losses. UPDATE: Direct Relocation Services emailed me minutes after this review was posted. Of course, the vendor claims no wrongdoing and even emailed the **final estimate** of $13,494.00 after the virtual walkthrough. Of course, there is no mention of the THREE (3) price increases AFTER my parents belongings already had been takin into THEIR possession. The email also included a PDF containing a series of cherry-picked texts and/or emails between the vendor and me. Nevertheless, nothing said in the email changes my review. The only way I would even possibly consider removing this review (and possibly consider NOT pursuing legal action against the company to recover losses) would be if (1) Direct Relocation Services acknowledges (a) THEIR original estimate ($7,450.00) was off in the end by $11,367.05; (b) THEIR final estimate ($13,494.00) was off in the end by $5,323.05; (c) the difference of $6,273.05 between THEIR final estimate ($13,494.00) and THEIR final invoice + THEIR long-haul partners final invoice ($18,817.05+$950.00=$19,767.05); AND (2) if Direct Relocation Services provides a refund ASAP of $6,273.05 (the difference between THEIR final estimate and THEIR final invoice + THEIR long-haul partners final invoice). Any other response from Direct Relocation Services simply will be forwarded to our attorney. Alas, I will let you know if/how the vendor responds.

Jorde, Glen and Richard were very professional and helpful in the pricing and loading process. At the time of this review while a few minor issues happened they were resolved. Communication with Jorde was always easy and he always returned my texts or phone calls. Delivery has yet to be made so another review is forthcoming.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES HIRE THIS DISCUSTING COMPANY. Hired to move us from Georgia to Wisconsin on July 20, 2021. Truck broken canâ t come till next day. Next day, truck still broken. Next day truck still broken. This is a 3,600 sq. ft. house that needs to be packed and moved. Suppose to arrive Tuesday, arrived Thursday after 3:30 after moving someone else. All of our things thrown in boxes, no paper wrapping. They were told NOT to touch anything on the fireplace mantel, they packed it all. My jewelry and medications are still buried in a box. Finished the next day AFTER we closed and no longer owned the house. Then they had to load truck. I had to hire some neighborhood kids to help load. Truck then went to a warehouse somewhere in Georgia for over 2 months. Daily I begged for my things to be delivered. All I got was a run around, excuses and rudeness. When things finally arrived there were all sorts of extra charges of course all in CASH. Total move was just under $30,000 for 800 miles. I have a number of rare 1960â s lucite chairs, DESTROYED. Tried to put in an insurance claim. IMPOSSIBLE. The insurance company makes it impossible to file a claim. First they make you download an unknown browser on your computer then there are all sorts of rules on filing.

They are a disreputable company and you should avoid them at all costs. I will never trust Home Advisor again because of the Horrific experience we had.

This company was terrible! To begin with, the truck that arrived was not large enough to handle a four-bedroom home. The on-site personnel was great tried they really tried to complete the move, however after the second day they had to call another company to finish. So this makes three companies involved they two actual movers and the direct location company. Now we accepted our furniture three days later. We only received the first truckload it took nearly three weeks to get the rest of our furniture. They either lost or stole multiple items, we have been attempting to get compensation for the missing items. I have sent the paperwork at least twice the first time they were unable to open it. I made sure the second set was sent as a pdf so it would open without a problem. Some of the items missing were very expensive we are considering a complaint with the BBB. I requested additional insurance and this was ignored so I should have known at that point there would be a problem. We had not moved in fifteen years the price quoted ended up being almost doubled. Pictures of our home were online so they had no excuse for not realizing the quantity of furniture involved. If possible I would not even give them half a star.
