They were rude and unprofessional in waiting until late in the day to cancel and not reschedule
Description of Work: Supplier set up an appointment to come to my house to fix a computer problem. About two hours before the appointment they called to cancel the appointment saying their tech didn't want to drive that far. We had been told it was 11 miles. When asked for a reschedule they refused.

Each month I call Geeks On Site to clean up my Computer. No matter what anti-virus program you have it will not keep your Computer running perfect with no viruses. The Computer started not connecting and running very slow causing me not to be able to use it properly. I called Geeks On Site and someone immediately logged onto my Computer and started cleaning it up. This means using malware removal, file deletion, virus removal, trojan & rootkit removal as well. They block suspicious sites and pop ups so my personal information is kept private and not hacked. They also advised me of a better antivirus program to better help keep my Computer from being hacked. They also give me personal tips and pointers on which kind of sites not to visit and which emails not to click on to avoid getting a virus or worse!! I have a windows 8 Computer which has a large memory capability. The Geeks On Site help me by freeing up more memory for me and deleting the files that are not needed. I pay monthly for this service and it is the one thing I am very glad to pay for. When they are through fixing my Computer, it works great and is back up to speed. It is well worth the price to have the peace of mind knowing that I am safe while browsing the web. All of the Geeks On Site people are very nice and professional. I would tell anyone to use their services. These guys "Rock" when it comes to service !!!!!
Description of Work: Cleaned up my Computer from viruses. Also removed all other files that were cluttering up my Computer and causing it to run slowly and malfunction.

Great! Our older computer crashed a day later and Andre came back at no charge. Now it works fine.

The service provided was very unsatisfactory; therefore in February 2015 I called 1-888-360-4335 to request the cancellation of this contract. Ever since I have been calling the same number every month when I receive my credit card bill and the monthly billing still continued to appear. Last month early June I was told that the contract has been cancelled but still the billing appeared again in June and July. I was told today that they called me to confirm that I wanted the contract cancelled but never answered my phone. My phones, both home and cell have the capacity of receiving a message, something I have never seen. Today's conversation was especially exasperating since after inquiring for the cancellation I was told that it had been cancelled. Since when does one need a return call in order to confirm ones request for cancellation? In other experiences, one get a confirmation number and that settles it. I certainly cannot recommend their services for both reasons of lack of competence and certainly lack of people skills. I was refused refund for the billings since my first call requesting cancellation.
Description of Work: Tried to fix some screen appearances and resolve problems with my photo software. Screen appearance was solved temporarily, photo software was not fixed. Offered a monthly contract for 24.95$.

The technician was very clear in helping me understand what he was doing to help improve my WiFi speed.
Description of Work: The Geeks On Site technician checked my computer systems for why the WiFi signal was so slow. I was using a signal range extender but did not have the right placement. He helped me find a good placement and the speed was much better. He also helped me check my other devices: laptop, ipad, and iphone. He also explained how to shop for new computer hardware whenever I was ready.

Mike the geek on site did an outstanding job making sure everything worked properly and I knew how to print on the Wi-Fi network. He was prompt and very professional. I would recommend Geek on Site for your computer problems.

At 10:30 PM my problem seemed to be corrected. I still requested a tech to come out to my house. as that was part of the service. There would be no extra charge if it did not go over 1 1/2 hours. The next morning Thursday , May 21 I was having the same issue and after many attempts I was finally able to speak with a supervisor. She was very focused and understood the issue and was most apologetic for what happened. She also informed me that no tech was scheduled to come to my house. as the person I spoke to never logged it into the system. She then scheduled one to come on Friday AM between the hours of 11AM and 1 PM. I was given his name and was informed I would be called 15 minutes before he was to arrive. She followed up with an email. All of a sudden on Thursday my problem was totally corrected but I received a flash Alert from Comcast that my password which was supposed to be deleted that someone had violated my computer using my password. This was a huge violation. I sent out three emails to the supervisor about this and she never responded. I changed my password. The tech did arrive without a phone call of his coming here. Geeks use him is this area. He is a contractor. He checked everything out. He was professional and knowledgeable. It was a horrible experience with Geeks.
Description of Work: They started to take over my computer at 1:30PM After 9 hrs they finally supposedly fixed the issue. All I initially wanted done was my outlook mail fixed. Mail that was being sent would get stuck in the outbox and computer had to be restarted for it to send. They decided without my permission to scrub my laptop and look for Malware. At 9:30PM after many calls they began to address the problem. That was after my threatening to Tweet how terrible they are. They do not let you speak with the tech. Every so often a box appears to contact the tech. When you call you never get the same person. You are kept on hold. Their command of the English language is terrible. They do not listen to what you are telling them

They failed to show up twice and when they tried to make up with a later time the same day, the technician had the wrong address after I told customer service to have a home service provided. Very disappointing.

He came out and fixed my computer. There was a part that needed to be ordered, The part was under warranty and was delivered the next day. The technician came back out and replaced the part. He did a really good job, he was very nice, courteous, and knowledgeable.

I had my computer in my car they said they wouldn't get it out of my car and when I brought my computer back inside they would not set it up. They were mean and not helpful and even hung up on me when I called for scheduling since I had brought the computer inside.

I would highly recommend this company. We were contacted by them the same day we purchased the deal through Angie's List. Samantha was so friendly and took the time to fully understand all the issues before setting us up with a technician. Jose was the technician and he was very patient. It was complicated because I was helping someone with a language problem so Jose often had to wait as I tried to understand and then repeat what I was told. There was some miscommunication which required Jose to do additional work but he never made me feel rushed and was very understanding. After the work was completed, another technician called us and again, patiently waited while we checked out everything to be sure all was working properly. The person I was helping misunderstood directions so what should have been a quick check took quite a while. Most impressive was that Samantha called us back to remind us to call her directly if we had further problems. She reminded us that it had a 7 day warranty plus an hour and a half of in home service if needed. Absolutely stellar customer service! Over the years I have worked with technicians both remotely and directly on many computer issues. I have often found the technicians to be abrupt and not at all friendly. This company recognizes that many of us are not computer wizards and feel frustrated when we have a problem. It was a pleasure to not only get the problem fixed but also to be treated so kindly. A+ service!

I signed up for an Angies List promotion for computer service. The customer service rep was most accomodating and set up an appointment for just a few days later. The service rep, Richard, arrived within the appointed time, and was very professional and friendly. He did a good job especially in light of my not having the necessary operating passwords he needed which meant more work him. If it had not been for that he would have been finished in the hour alotted under the promotion, so the additional time it took was no fault of his. One issue was my Facetime app was not working and due to a system wide shut down he could not be certain it was fixed. As it turned out it was still not working requiring a re visit . I called the 800 number and again the customer service rep was great and even had Richard come back on a Sunday. He fixed the prroblem which under their 7 day warranty didn't cost me extra.. I was impressed with the responsiveness of the customer service, the prompt service offered, their followup on the serivce, and the service technician.

I had a very good experience with this service provider. He was very professional and informative. He showed me how to fix the problem so that I could do it on my own if the need arose again. I would definitely recommend this provider.

Bought the $79 deal on Friday, received call on Sunday and they showed up on Monday. They were able to complete the job on both computers in 1 hour. I personally was unfamiliar with the newer windows versions, but understood what I needed and what needed to be done. This was an atypical service call since there was no data that needed to be saved on the computers, however, everything that was possible was explained on the phone when setting the appointment and the convenience of someone coming to the house rather than bringing the systems to a service center is a good deal. I would definitely consider them in the future.
Description of Work: I has 2 computers that were running extremely slow. The technician restored them to factory settings and both are up an running great.

I called what I believed to be a local number the phone book, but it was really, I guess, a call center in Florida. It was the third attempt to get in home service for my desktop which made me a bit apprehensive. The two previous appointments were canceled by the companies I called because they couldn't get a technician to my location. I lived in a small city where service calls and technicians are pretty hard to come by, so I went ahead and requested an appointment from Geeks On Site. The 4 hour block of time was priced competitively as compared to the two precious companies. The technician, Tom Aung, arrived on time and was courteous and professional. He explained everything he was doing, patiently answered all my questions, and after replacing the power supply he ran diagnostics on the hard drive and tuned it up so that the computer runs like new again. I would recommend Geeks On Site and Tom to family and friends without hesitation

These people are dishonest and criminal on every level.

Though, in this situation, you were connected to our free subscription trail, where you could call 24/7 with any computer related issues, no matter what. I guess they don't have a technician in my area so they want me to turn my computer over to one of their on line experts for an additional fee of $149.99? sure did not see that in any fine print anywhere!!! I purchased a one hour session with someone coming to my home for 79.99. The company was difficult to deal with by phone and really was only interested in more money and taking over my computer via on-line. I do not want to do either. I am trying to get my refund. What a bummer! My first purchase with Angie's List. I do not recommend Geeks On Site at all which is really Geeks on line but they don't tell you that!
Description of Work: Absolutely nothing but frustrate me! First of all, the giant all center that they run is very frustrating. If the phone operator gets frustrated then they simply transfer you to another operator. I had a simple question. ..."When and how can I make an appointment for the hour that I purchased?" The short answer should have simply been "You will not get your on-site one hour person!". Instead I got a real run around and it took me many phone calls to try and figure out what was going on. I am in the process of requesting my refund from Angie's List which none of them had heard of.

We do have technicians nation wide and can normally assign a tech even when they are driving very long distances. Unfortunately, when purchasing time from Angie's List we cannot guarantee that we will have technicians available in your area. So, while this is true, please know that we can always help by getting you connected remotely. Our remote technicians are as skilled and knowledgeable as our onsite technicians and their services are offered until the issue gets resolved. In these types of situations, the customer only needs to pay the difference of the onsite and the remote repair costs but because the time was purchased through Angies List our agents were unable to make that difference. We know your time is extremely valuable and we want to make sure everything that you asked for is taken care of and completed.
