Precision Overhead Garage Door

Except for being a little late, replacement of weather striping went very well. Work was done quickly (approx 20 mins). The new weather striping is better quality than the original builder grade one. Repairman also replaced garage door rollers, so now the door is much quieter & lubricated door parts as well. He did this charging me the Angie's List price ($89) without me having to go on Angie's List to buy it.

We could not be more pleased with the service we recieved. Our service techs, Blake and Frank, could not have been more professional and truly exemplify the word SERVICE; they went above and beyond. I have already recommended them to neighbors and will absolutely call on them for any future work we need. Thank you Precision Garage Door Service and Angies List - we are very very happy.

We did not have a great experience with them, they inspected the door and said the garage was unbalanced and we needed to get the company that installed the garage door to fix it. We called the company that installed it and they came out and confirmed the garage door was not unbalanced. It was not a good experience and we felt that Precision Garage was just trying to up-sell us and we didn’t really get anything out of the deal we bought. They did not do a tune-up as was specified in the deal.

I was pleased of the Angie's lists deals I was able to buy. He went over a few options and at no time did I feel pressure to do anything that we did not need. He even checked to make sure that he left no screws on the floor. Very Professional, I would definitely call them again.

I think that they're competent and they do a good job but most of the time was spent on trying upsell me other products.

They worked the appointment time around my work schedule so I didn't have to take much time off, which I really appreciated.

It went pretty well. They actually applied this Deal towards other work that I needed done. However, when an inspector came out to look at the door, they found a bolt missing so I had to have Precision come back out. I also had a scheduling issue, and the response I received to this wasn’t very kind.

Tom was very polite and courteous; however, our garage door was unfortunately not worth repairing. We’ll need to replace it at some point in the future.

It went very well! I also had them replace some fraying cables and the end bearing plates. The door is SO much quieter since they did the work. The price was very fair and the tech that came out was very homeowner friendly: he gave me several tips that will save me money!

The repair went well and I was overall pleased with the service. They also confirmed a problem with one of my sensors and repaired that as well. This was the first time I’d used them, and I would use them again as well as recommend them to others. I was pleased with his knowledge and he even made a special trip back to his shop to get the right size weather sealant for my door.

I emailed neighbors while the tech was here to find out if any of them had to replace springs since this block in the development is only about five years old, and we have owned our house for only three years. I learned that, yes, several had replaced their springs, but I also learned (only after the tech left) that a local contractor charged my neighbors only $200 to replace the springs that Precision Overhead Doors charged me $330. Now, I don't know the quality of the springs provided by Precision Overhead Doors or by the local contractor, so I can't compare apples to apples, but I am disappointed that POD didn't provide me with evidence of the quality of the springs, which, I learned, come in 10,000, 25,000, and 50,000 cycle guarantees. If the local contractor used 10,000 cycle springs and POD used 50,000 cycle springs, then, OK, the extra $130 would be money well spent. The problem is that POD did not leave me any paper work showing anything about the quality of the replacement springs. (I intend to ask the neighbors if they know the number of cycles their springs are guaranteed for.) I could see that the bracket was bent and I guessed it eventually probably would cause trouble, but, again, the bracket was a simple piece of equipment that looked as though I easily could replace myself if I didn't have to worry about the spring tensions while doing it, so $115 seemed an excessive price for a simple job. The tech did answer all my questions, but provided no written evidence whatsoever to support his answers. He was very pleasant and certainly seemed honest, but the absence of written evidence makes me nervous. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how long these springs last to learn how many cycles they are designed to provide.

The technician determined that the rollers would also need to be replaced on the door. We were in a pinch for time, so I wasn't prepared for that and didn't research other companies to compare costs. Since then I've found that they are on the very expensive end of the scale of what one would expect to pay for roller replacement. The garage door install went just ok. The garage door opener works fine, but the install was a bit sloppy. The braces weren't cut to size, the cables and power plugs were left loose rather than zip tied. Overall it just looked sloppy and rushed, however the functionality was fine. I cleaned up the rest, however for that cost, I didn't feel as though I should have had too. I was unable to tell the difference between the pre-roller replacement, and post roller replacement state. The effort required to open and close the door seems the same to me, but a bit less squeaky. I wasn't present at the time of installation, my wife was, so I was not in a position to challenge. I needed to have the job done, so I was pretty much stuck. Overall impression is Platinum pricing, and bronze service. I'm always willing to pay for platinum pricing if I get platinum service. This wasn't worth it.

It turned out well. I contacted them to schedule the deal and they were on time for appointment. I have no complaints.

I was very happy with their work. Blake was the technician along with another man and they were very polite, came when they said they would, and did a great job.

They did a tune up on our door and it went well. We haven’t had any issues with the door since. I didn’t really like that they were pushy on adding hurricane bars, a new spring, etc., but other than that everything else was fine.

It went pretty well. There was a separate issue with the door, so they did some additional work as well on the same visit. They were on time, he called ahead, and I was really happy with this service. We haven’t had any issues with the door since then. He was very polite as well, which was appreciated. It was great same-day service!

My garage door is 20 years old, so they were only able to do half the job. I’d give them a B+ on the work they were able to, although I’m not sure how to move forward with the project from here. They were helpful in discussing the next steps for the door, which I appreciated.

They texted me right away and they gave me a call. They came out right away but there was just nothing they could do because my door was so old.

UPDATE: I have to change my review of Precision Overhead. I got a call from them just a few days after this review was posted. They explained to me that was important that i was happy with all aspects of their service. Because i thought the service the performed was a little pricey they offered to refund half of what i had spent. To me that is a sign of a company that is in tune with their customers. I will use them again the future. Nice Job Precision *************************** when they were working on that they noticed one of my springs was broke, 315 to replace...i see other companies doing it for 150-200...I had them do it and it works a lot better.

They came out for garage door tuneup but convinced me I needed garage door roller replacement on both doors and spring replacement. I felt good about my decision until my nextdoor neighbor told me that didn't need replacement. I am not sure if I made a good decision or not. The work was performed in a good manner, cleaned up after. The installer was nice and personable.

Blake and Frank did everything to ensure that the door is working properly including the setting up my remotes, outside garage door opener and the in-car garage door opener. They were pleasant to work with and they answered all the questions politely about the additional work needed. We knew that we needed that extra work. Recommend them for this work and will use them in future for similar work if needed. Great job. on time as promised. Thanks Blake and Frank.

Good work, but I thought it was expensive. $650 for 2 springs, cables, and rollers.

Project went well. Done on time and professionally.

Ben called when he was on the way, arrived right on time, and was very professional. Work was quickly done and everything was left as clean as when he started.

I couldn't have been happier with their service. They were professional and friendly. They did much more than I paid for, making sure that everything functioned properly and providing advice for the future. I will definitely use them again when needed
