+ -1 morePurchased Angieslist offer for Garage Tune-up, company immediately contacted me and Technician (Mike) was at the house within 3 hours, all in the same day! Current Garage Door Opener was an older model and in need of replacement, Tech had various models with him. Without any pressure or hard selling, he explained each model, benefits and cost. Their selection of Openers are more expensive compared to Home Depot and Lowes advertised prices, however they are not the same brand and warranty is better. Once selection was made, Opener was installed and working in short time. The Tech was clean, organized, professional and friendly. If your looking for fast, friendly and efficient service this company is a good choice.

He did a great job repairing the door and making sure it worked correctly before leaving. I have used Precision Overhead Garage Door previously to repair my other door and I was impressed with their response then too. I will definately use them again if needed in the future.

While the technician tried to sell me additional parts to replace that were going bad and were still serviceable at the time of the call, he didn't push "too hard" and was very respectful of my situation and left me with an estimate of what would likely be my next issues for the garage door system.
Description of Work: Inspected and serviced my garage door system and replaced all rollers/bearings. Then provided some issues that will be coming down the line. He did push a little on trying to sell me additional parts (springs/bushings/etc) but was not at all overbearing about it and left me with an estimate for the replacement for future reference so I can start saving to perform the work now.

Description of Work: UPDATE on 7/7/2014: I had a phone call today from the owner (Eric) explaining he follows up on customer reviews that are NOT rated B overall or above. I thanked him for his follow up call and explained, as Eric requested, why my review was negative. Eric was very professional and polite and offered to refund my $100 under the circumstances. I asked Eric if I was the only one that misunderstood what was being offered in the ad. Eric explained there were a few others and as a result Eric planned to remove the word REPAIR that was mentioned several times in the advertised special when/if he ran the special again. I admit the misunderstand was not completely Precision Overhead Garage Door's fault as people make mistakes in both writing and in READING. I WAS AT FAULT AS WELL. Eric did not ask me to write the update I just reported above, but I felt, because of his professionalism and politeness and his willingness to "make me whole" that the update was appropriate. As a result, I am improving my ratings as follows: 1. Overall: Raised from a D to a B. 2. Price: Raised from an F to a C. (I still fell the price quoted to actually repair door (diagnosed as a broken spring) of $140 was too high. I later had the springs (when one spring fails, the two springs in a garage door must be replaced to properly complete the repair) repaired by another vendor for about $50 less than Precision quoted. Part of the reason I gave and F in the first place was due to the $100 I had already paid to (in my mind) get the door repaired during the special $100 offer made through Angie's List. 3. Responsiveness: Raised from a D to and A (based solely on theowner's follow up call) 4. Professionalism: Raised from a B to and A. ORIGINAL COMMENTS on 6/29/2014: I felt mislead by the ad. I did not get what I expected which was a service call to repair my door.

+ -1 moreI had issues with my garage door approximately 3 months ago and called Overhead Door of Clearwater,Fl. Door would not open and remote and outside wall mount opener wouldn't work. The tech who responded only tried to SELL me a new opener, new remote, new wheels etc. He did get the door to work but 2 days later, I was back to square one! I called them a 2nd time (and yes, did give them a poor review). The tech stated that the 1st tech never did the proper inspection or required "tune up" on the door. Although, he did get the door to start working again, he could not get the remote or outside panel to work. Needless to say, 2 months later....back to square one yet again!!! A neighbor highly recommended Precision, I checked their status on Angie's List and called them. The tech who responded, Blake, was FANTASTIC!!!! He was prompt, knowledgeable, found the problem for ALL of the conditions, and fixed them!!! HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this company.

+ -1 moreThis is my third time buying an Angie's List "deal" and the third disappointment. The deals seem to be only a way for the merchant to get his foot in the door so he can sell a much more expensive service. I knew the rubber seal was missing on the garage door and that there were some bolts missing on the top causing the door not to close correctly. This "deal" was to replace the seal and do some general repair. The first serviceman immediately told me the door needed to be replaced and could not be repaired for less than about a thousand dollars. He suggested replacing it for $1,400, which did not include electrical work or the main mechanism. After he left, my yardman who was listening, said he could fix the door and did so within fifteen minutes. The door now works fine, altho I am aware that it is old. However, it is not rusted nor discolored and is giving no problems with the work the yardman did. I called back this company to now put the rubber seal on the bottom of the door, which they did, and they did not further inspection or repair as stated in the deal. I feel like I was "scammed" by the first repairman who could not do the minor repair work the yardman was able to do. To repeat, he wanted over $1,000 to do repairs but really thought it should be replaced. The second repairman came, installed the rubber seal, and left. THIS WAS NOT A "DEAL" My advice regarding this company is to AVOID; my advice regarding Angie's List Deals: AVOID.

+ -1 moreThe provider arrived on time. He called about 15 minutes before he was due to arrive to let me know that he would be there on time. He was very friendly, funny and extremely competent. I would definitely hire him again. The service and fee were very reasonable.

Description of Work: Our recently purchased house built in 1983 still had the original heavy wood garage door. We just had the house painted and next was the door. The company was running a special and I love specials. The rep came out early and waited till I got home. He looked at my old door and gave me the estimate which was guaranteed. The next day my new garage door was installed by one man. And my house looks beautiful. The installer was very nice and cleaned up after replacing the rails and springs and door. Hooked it up to the garage opener and we were good to go. I would recommend this company.

He informed me of what I could expect going forward, what the next maintenance items should be, and answered all of my questions. He was very professional.
