So, I decided to call around and other competitors can replace the entire door since it's 26 years old for $879 so I decided to that route instead of fixing the old one for $379 less.

However, I did make the extra purchase because I agreed it was necessary based on his explanation and the concerns I had about my door which prompted me to sign up for the Angie's List daily deal. I am very pleased with the work that was done, the professional and easy going manner of the technician, and my door now works great!
