Bestway Lawn Care

I finally decided to join Angie's List to write this review and try to find a new lawn service. We were referred to Bestway by a pest control company they do complementary work with. Clifford originally met with my wife and then I met with Ernie to go over the yard in detail as to what we wanted done. Ernie was quick to promise that the work we desired would be no problem. If the service provided had been as good as the sales effort, I wouldn't have needed to write this. It was a disaster from the first time they serviced our yard. Their workers were pleasant and respectful but didn't have several of the tools needed to do the job and just didn't do some of the work they did have tools to do. They didn't pull weeds, the edging didn't get done, palm trees with fronds hanging were not trimmed, the list goes on and on. I called Ernie and he came out again and we went over the yard to show him what wasn't being done and he said things would improve. After two more weeks, things still hadn't. I called Ernie twice with no return call. I finally called Clifford to come out and go over things. He said he wasn't going to come out because he "knew what weeds were and would personally come out with the crew to make sure things were right". I don't whether he did or did not come out with the crew but when I got home, nothing had improved and I terminated their services immediately.

We had a complete re sod of our lawn. We signed on for weekly maintenance. They were prompt at giving a bid and were prompt at getting the sod down but after that - oh well. If you're looking for consistency and good lawn maintenance. this company is not the one for you. We are completely disgusted with their lack of concern, the reliability and their staff changes so that termination is in the near future.

Provider is here every week, however, have had several issues over the last month of service. Front lawn lamp post was damaged this week by provider and they did not even leave a note. When I contacted them they wanted me to send pictures (which I have done). Last week they dug up pavers in the ground by our gate....two weeks prior to that they ran over and ruined our telescoping pool pole. Prior to that they have cut several cables in our yard.... we specifically have written in the contract to watch out for the cables... as they are very costly to replace. I am sure that replacing the lamp post will be quite costly..... UPDATE: I have had damage caused by this company....they refuse to accept responsibility. I sent pictures to the company as they requested and they never responded to me. When I contacted them again they said they did not believe their crew damaged our lamp post. I sent the company a request for reimbursement for the removal of my lamp post for $180.00 and they have not responded.

Terrible! On their first visit, they managed to destroy personal property. They sprayed the weeds and mowed, but nothing was trimmed. We called and they were apologetic, but we were unimpressed from the start and decided to send our 30-day notice as required. This meant we had to keep their service for the month. On the second visit, they managed to damage the same item and left pieces scattered on the lawn, they didn't mow the entire lawn, weeds were not pulled, and again nothing was trimmed.

IT WENT HORRIBLE FROM DAY 1 They showed up, did 1/2 of the initial cleanup job described above, and then came back next day and finished it. As I went outside to see how it all looked, I noticed that there were still leaves everywhere..as in they didn't turn their blower on high enough to get them all.. They didn't trim the bushes nor the plants inside my pool cage. They didn't take the dead vines off of the fence( I just went ahead and did that myself with 2 swipes) They didn't blow all the leaves out of my front yard either. They weedwhacked most of the yard except you could still see lil' pieces of grass where they missed. Now here I had just sent out a check for almost $500.00 to them. It was a lil' pathetic that they couldn't do the basics. I barely have any grass. I live in Safety Harbor so it's mainly just leaves..my yard doesn't grow grass so it's really just dirt with a lil' bit of grass that we are trying to grow with the leaves that fall from the oak trees. Nothing major....really quite easy yard to clean up for $60/month especially in the season where the leaves have already fallen for that year. I called Ernie, who is the guy who gave me the estimate. Told him my concerns and also added that I want them to knock on my door and let me know they are there so I can move my cars before they begin working each time. I didn't want my cars getting all dirty from all the dirt that would be blown around. He said no problem, he would have them back out the next day to finish everything I just stated. They came back out, however they STILL MISSED getting the rotted wood in my front yard. They STILL DIDN'T BLOW my front area by this oak tree that I have..it's all boxed in with wood being the border. There were STILL leaves in my front yard and back yard. I think the only reason why I got my bushes trimmed back was b/c I actually went out and explained what I wanted done all while this old guy was just staring at me with a blank stare. I CAN'T BELIEVE he actually did that correctly b/c he was looking at me as if he had never trimmed a bush in his life. So basically they didn't do anything different. Have no idea what they were doing out there. I explained all this in great detail to Ernie as soon as they left. He said he was gonna send someone out before the end of the day. Well someone came alright just a few hours later. DID THEY TAKE MY ROTTED WOOD IN THE FRONT YARD??? H*** no...they actually went in my BACK yard and took GOOD wood that we had piled up to use for something later. Now I told this dude FRONT yard a million times.. It's in the estimate paperwork as well. So I called Ernie to tell him that. Told him that I wanted HIM out here next time so I could show how these guys weren't blowing all of the leaves. Basically that I didn't like getting outside and expalining to a bunch of men what I expected of them. I told him I didn't feel comfortable doing that. He said ok he would be here next time. Well well well....they show up 2 weeks later at their scheduled time and is ERNIE with them....NO!! So I immediately call him and said ,"I don't understand why you're not here...Am I going to have to go out there and explain to these guys how I want my yard cleaned up?" He basically told me yes and that he was sorry he wasn't there. Now I'm p*****. I gotta go talk to these men with my baby in tow to explain to them how to friggin blow leaves and pick up rotted wood. The young guy was cool, the old guy was rude and sorta looking at me like "why are you telling me what to do" GUESS WHAT? THEY STILL MISSED THE ROTTED WOOD AND DIDN'T GET ALL THE LEAVES OUT OF MY YARD. So I HAD ENOUGH!! Called the owner with the cool English accent. I was calling to cancel service and to let him know what a bunch of dang idiots he had working for him, however he assured me that he would have this taken care of and that he would give me a credit. Next time they came out, they actually knocked on my door like I wanted them to . Really nice guy who listened to everything I needed and the old guy with the attitude wasnt there. THEY GOT THE ROTTED WOOD AND BLEW MOST OF THE LEAVES!! He even knocked on my door and asked me if I was happy. As I was looking outside, I just told him I was happy, but I still saw alot of leaves. It's like if you have dirt for your yard and leaves may be under that dirt a lil' bit, well, they aren't going to get them apparently. I've done my yard myself for 10 nows before I hired them, and I was able to get all the leaves out of the yard. YOu turn the d*** the blower up on high and blow them dude...it's not complicated. I mean they did get the wood so I guess I just gave up a bit and realized that the standard for this company is not high. I just couldn't bring myself to actually point out that leaves were still in my yard ONE MORE TIME!! So I told my husband.."maybe they will respond to a man better, you go out when they come back in 2 weeks and see what they say to you" So that was on 5-20-13.. They did what they came to do and that's when my husband went out there and explained how we wanted ALL the leaves out of our yard. Again, he was speaking to the old guy with an attitude. They turned their blowers on again and when they left...we went outside to see the yard. And THERE WAS ALL THIS DEBRI THAT THE GUY HAD JUST BLOWN ONTO OUR FRONT PORCH AS THE ULTIMATE F-U (took a picture to show to the owner of the company)!! Called the owner to let him know that this employee pretty much just lost him this account and he hasn't called me back to date. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE UNLESS YOU JUST WANT YOUR GRASS CUT!! Cause that's about all I think they are capable of. I would've paid someone 100.00 a month to just get it done and get it done right and I told the owner that. It's not about the money. I just want quality service. So now I'm with A+ Professional Lawn Care and they come out twice a week as well for $50 and they are doing exactly what I wanted and not giving me any crap while doing it. They let me move my cars. They turn the blower up as high as they need to. And guess what? Now that they've gotten all the leaves up, IT'S ALL DONE!! Now they get a payment every month for weedwacking. So there ya have it!! It was so bad...I just wish I had not even hired them to do monthly service after the bad experience with inital job. I just assumed they just need some guidance and another chance. But when they blew the crap onto my porch...THAT WAS IT!!!

Bestway has been doing my lawn care for about a year now. They do an excellent job, and the price is great. When I was looking for a lawn service, most of the companies only had voice mail, and took 1-2 days to call me back. Buestway is very responsive and almost always answers the phone when I call. On the rare occasions that I've had to leave a voice mail for Bestway, they call me back within 20 minutes. I highly recommend Bestway.

Overall from estimate to completion of the first phase of work,it has gone very well. I was able to contact them in the office and by cell phone. Very receptive.

Called and they came out to give an estimate quickly. then the crew came and clean up the yard - hauled off all the yard waste and it looked so much better. Good job!

The person who came out to my home and sold me told me that the front and back yard would be mowed, edged, and cleaned up. The team showed up the first day, did not say one word to me, quickly mowed front yard and did nothing to the back yard. They were packed up and out in 10 minutes. We were very unhappy with the service.

Bestway Lawn Care's quality, price, and professionalism are good. Their responsiveness and punctuality are great. I would use them again in the future.

Bestway came over promptly after we called and gave us an estimate. We agreed and hired them Boring story, but so far it's been great.

My front and back yard became so overgrown, it looked like a jungle - literally! Bestway came out and did the front yard first and since it took so long, we said it would take two visits to get it right. They are here again two weeks later fulfilling their promises and tackling the back yard today. I love Bestway and I love Angie's List for providing their trusted source of people to help me out!

Cliff came out promptly when we called and gave us an estimate. We chose Cliff over another company that gave us an estimate because he explained exactly what they were going to do and how it would be done. they came out within a week and cleaned up the yard. They came back the next week to install the plants. they worked with us to select the plants and arrange them. The work was done very quickly and well. Finally we decided that we needed to add more gravel to the corner where the old gravel had been overgrown and looked dirty. Cliff and his crew inspire confidence that the work will be done well and in a timely manner. Their professionalism is evident in their work and their attitude.

Went well, use as monthly service now

The owner promptly returned my initial phone call and set a date at my convenience to come and give an estimate. He arrived on time and discussed numerous possibilities and the pricing structure for each. He then e-mailed me the alternatives we discussed and I phoned him with my choice. A date was set to do the work. They arrived as the appointed hour, performed as promised, and I was so pleased that I decided to hire them to do my weekly maintenance.

They are the best lawn service group I have worked with. Polite, courteous, friendly and on time. When I call to ask a question or request new services, my calls are answered promptly and courteously. They have come out to our house a number of times to review new requests and they are always informative and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bestway to anyone.

i found out my rental property was out of control and on the verge of a citation, i called bestway and the owner, cliff, said he would get to it right away, which he did. the work was done right away and at a very fair price, and in a very professional manner. i was very lucky to have found them. great experiance!

I have hired this company to perform my lawn service monthly. Cliff has worked with me on personalizing my lawn care to meet my specific needs. I have alot of hedges and areas that need special attention in my lawn. James and Rob are my lawn care guys and always knock on the door after they are through to see if I need any additional work done or if I am happy with what they have done. Before the Bestway came out and cleaned it up, my yard was horrible. The grass was knee-high, there was an evil vine destroying my back fence, the trees badly needed trimming, and the front yard was covered with leaves. I refused to go outside. The workers showed up and in two days, one for the lawn and one for the trees, they turned my yard in to a neat, clean, beautiful place that is a joy to inhabit. I couldn't be happier. We've hired them on for bi-weekly service from now on and everything was a very good price!

Contacted Bestway because they serviced my neighbors yard and did a good job. I called made an appt for an estimate on my front yard and contracted for lawn care: mowing, edging, weeding beds, cleanup. The owner, Cliff followed up after first service and made sure I was satisfied. The team did a good job. Price was very reasonable, as it is a monthly plan of a flat rate, all year. They service us weekly in the summer, and bi-weekly in the winter. I have had a followup conversation with Cliff as he is concerned about the quality of care his company provides. When I needed to communitate to have specific work done, the owner was very responsive and they did a good job. I happy with their services.

This was by far the best experience we have had with any service from start to finish. I left them a voicemail and received a call 3 hours later, and the owner Craig came out to give an estimate about an hour later. He was punctual, courteous and professional, and explained in-depth what they could do, and even offered suggestions for trimming back overgrown plants. He said they could do the work 2 days later, and would arrive around 8:30am. They were on time, and the method they use to vacuum leaves left our yard looking beautiful. The attention to detail was incredible (I am very picky so I was surprised), and our neighbor came over while they were working and was so impressed they hired his company on the spot. He called me after they were done to make sure I was satisfied, and we definitely were. I can't say enough about how easy and painless this was, and it was a joy to work with a company who obviously wanted my business and cared that I was happy. I highly recommend them for all aspects of lawn and yard work.

They came out yesterday and did a great job. Cliff was great with communication, follow up and was very professional. He made a call to me today to make sure that the work was done to my satisfaction.

I'm very unhappy with the promises they've made and didn't keep. They are supposed to cut my hedges and rake the leaves and they only do so when I remind them.

They go above and beyond the other lawn services I've used. I pay them $75 a month, they come every other Thursay. If there is a problem, the owner will come out and take care of it.
