My kitchen window was in need of replacement. My window was a special order item. 10 business days to receive the window and for installation. Overall the service was prompt and professional as could be expected. It was my rental property and not having to deal with back and forth conversation is a plus. They heard my request and followed my direction (which is deal with me and only me my tenants just allow you to enter) some companies miss that step and deal with my tenants which is silly since I am the paying customer. I am happy with this company 100%.

Very well. Josh and Derek were friendly, competent, professional, punctual and personable. They addressed any issues I had no matter how little they were. I had different installers from my phase 1 and was very pleased with them as well. David, the owner, is very professional and helpful and based on the product I bought for the price his values were way better than any competitor (spoke with 4 other name brand providers).

We contacted this company based on Angieslist. The rep came to the house and he was very punctual and did a great job explaining the product. The project should be anywhere from 10k to 20k depending on what we ultimately want done but I guess that is not a big enough job to get a quote from this company. We have learned a few things from contractors and one of them is to never beg for a job. I'm happy that the business is so good you can pass on work but communication would have been nice.

Back in 2013 Armortech installed a beautiful new front door and large back sliding door to our home. Both are storm ready and we have enjoyed them. The salesman who was polite and on time was very educated. They stuck with us on all decisions for door stain color and types and the installers were very good! Tidy, professional and timely. In 2014 almost a year to the date later we called them back for a quote on double hung storm windows for the house. We thought it was a no brainer as we had such a great experience with them the year prior we knew they would get our repeat business. However as smart consumers we still got 3 quotes for the same product. To our surprise both of the other vendors came in with lower bids one MUCH lower (almost $6000.00) so obviously that was enough of a difference that after doing our homework and finding out the other vendor also had high Angies list ratings we decided to put our faith in another Vendor. We still will and have recommended Armortech! They did a great job for us but it was just to much of a price change this go around to use them. Thankfully the other install went well and we have no regrets on our choice.

You can't argue with the results. Our new room is exquisite and the new windows have done wonders for our home. Not only looks, but the quality of the windows. Every question and/or concern we had, was answered in a timely manner. All of the workers were extremely nice and we enjoyed talking with them. I have to say that I have never had people work at my house that were this friendly AND did a great job. If there was a problem that may or may not have been created by them, they stepped up and told us before we saw it. HONESTY, works for me! I moved here from Northern Virginia 2 1/2 years ago. The quality and workmanship up there was awful and often had to be done at least twice. What a pleasant change. I was especially impressed how the workers were treated. They were like a family. They took their time and did the job correct the first time. If they were going to be late, they called; if they were not coming at all, they let us know. One of the best things was that they cleaned up after themselves. Karen (office everything) was also extremely nice. She knew what was going on every step of the way, and she knew by the job. She didn't have to put you on hold and find a file to talk to you. When we started the process, we got 3 estimates through Angie's List. We were initially looking for pricing for windows, and explained what we were going to do with a rebuild. 2 of the 3 companies said that they would do the windows and the rebuild. Amortech was more expensive, but we felt comfortable with them. Their plan made a lot of sense and we felt confident that they were not going to cut corners. Thank you Armortech!!!!
Description of Work: Installed all new Simonton hurricane windows; remodeled Florida room, which included gutting the entire room, including the removal of the back wall; rebuilding wall with cement block, removing old sliding glass doors, build up room with concrete for the new sliders to be installed properly, replaced several sliders with windows; took down and replaced ceiling; drywall. The inspections were done without any problems. They did more, but I cannot remember everything that went into the job.

We are extremely happy with Armortech and all the employees we worked with during this project. Steve was our salesman, and that visit went extremely well. We discussed all details of the project at length, sketching out design ideas, sharing photographs, and choosing the doors and art glass insert. It was a productive and fun sales session in our backyard. I was so pleased to come away with exactly what I wanted. Armortech provided me with the option of painting the doors myself which saved me a few hundred dollars. This worked out well for me, as I am always up for saving money where I can, and I like DIY projects. They were very accommodating with allowing me space in their warehouse for most of the day, and even set the doors up on sawhorses prior to me getting there. The installation went extremely well. We have a 90-year old wood frame house, so I am sure there were some challenges but Jeff and Jay handled them with ease and professionalism. They were both very courteous and positive-minded throughout the whole two-day project. All the design work that I had discussed during the sales meeting was implemented, and they also remembered to use the choice of wood (rough cut cedar) that I wanted. Jeff (the owner) is also a very talented carpenter and did a beautiful job on the trim work on both front and back doors. Our doors look amazing!. We are so glad we chose Armortech and will use them in future projects.

After six weeks I had to call to see if the door had arrived. It had been at Armortech for a few days. Who knows when they would have contacted me.
Description of Work: I had door to my garage replaced. It took six weeks for the door to be ordered and delivered. I purchased the door , door frame, and painting. Like the previous review the installers were two twenty something men that were nice. After the door was installed we had to wait for the inspector who never arrived the day I was told he would. After the door did get inspected, I had to call to have Armortech send someone to fill in the screw anchor holes. I have since had to refill the holes as the material used cracked. I have called twice regarding the final painting of the door and trim. I was told both times that someone would call before the end of the day. It still hasn't been done and I am not satisfied. Do use hire or purchase from this company. They are not honest!!

This was a very poor experience. I purchased 10 custom windows that were not measured correctly for custom fit. It took them about a month to complete the job. I was supposed to get Dave, an owner, and an experienced gentleman named Ron to complete the installation. However, when install time came there were 20 something year old kids installing the windows with no real foreman on the job. There is about a ¾ to 1 inch wide gap around the windows, when there should only be about a quarter inch gap at most. They had to apply spray foam to fill in these gaps. Custom fit windows should never have to have spray foam used to make the windows fit. What bothered me most, however, is they cut the siding and wood when they installed the windows and you could see the broken siding after the installation. When I brought this up to the owners they said it isn?t that bad. This is one of many different excuses this company kept giving me for their poor work. One of the owners eventually devised a plan and installed a picture frame boarder around the installed windows to cover up the broken siding. However, I?m now concerned there will be water leakage in the future. Armortech said it will just be up to me to re-caulk the windows later. I simply looked to extend trust on the front end on more of a handshake approach. The sales manager, Steve Cliffel, would not come back after the sale was made because he had ?many other appointments.? Toward the end of the project I tried to level with one of the owners, Jeff, and his offer to me was to take $300 off and ?then we never have to see or talk to each other again.? The other owner, Dave, eventually became condescending and unprofessional with me. The windows also didn?t pass the first inspection but it later passed with a signed affidavit from Armortech. This affidavit simply means Armortech signed a document that said, on their good word, they would fix the window issues. I have since contacted the building department to see if they want to order another inspection because I?m not confident Armortech made the necessary repairs. At the end of the day, I just don?t want to see anyone else have to deal with a similar issue with Armortech. Please, don?t use Armortech or be pressured by them. UPDATE: The windows were not measured correctly. They should have been measured inside and outside. The windows were custom fitted, so you shouldn?t have to use so much expandable foam to make them fit properly. My sliding was in perfect condition, it is less than 10 years old, until they cut it too big to make the windows fit. These mistakes are being covered up by the picture frame border now. The windows do look okay but the damage caused from cutting the sliding is still there and it is just being covered up at the moment. They never corrected the damage that was caused to the sliding just covered it. When they discovered the wood damage, they informed us that they wouldn?t be able to install the window until the wood was fixed. We asked them if they were going to work on the other nine windows and they informed us that weren?t going to until the wood is fixed. We asked them to leave since they weren?t going to do any work that day. We asked them nicely to leave and that is the only time we asked them to leave. Jeff provided a quote for the repairs to the wood and the quote was for over $1800. My husband was able to make the repairs to code for only $200. Per Rick Dunn, Deputy City Building Inspector, the windows didn?t pass code on the first inspection. We did try to negotiate a discount on the final bill with them because of the poor quality of workmanship to resolute these issues. As of today, they are paid in full so I have nothing to gain from this complaint only to try to help other Angie?s List members. We had other contractors in my home at the time with no issues. Simonton window company has filed an insurance claim because of the poor quality of workmanship. Before we wouldn?t recommend using Armortech for your window needs. Do not use this company!

The windows were measured correctly. The job was complete in 2 weeks. The existing siding around the windows was is poor shape, so we did what we could with the existing J channel. After a visit to the home I explained to the customer we would come back and install new J channel around all the windows, which we did. The job came out beautiful. During the middle of the job we discovered termite damage under the living room window. The customer then for no reason kicked us off the job. We tried to explain to her that we can't install windows in an opening that has rott. The homeowner then elected to repair the wall themselves and we were nice enough to go out in the morning on a Saturday to remove the window so they could repair the wall, then come back at the end of the day to install the window into a wall that was not repaired properly. Then the customer said to me and Jeff several times " you can just walk away from this" meaning I'll take the windows for free if you just walk away. She was trying everything to keep from paying. She then called the company a few days later and offered Jeff $5,500.00 on a job that was $11,000.00, thats when Jeff offered her $300 off. The inspection did pass the first time. we have done thousands of jobs in the Tampa bay area and have had to deal with issues, and always tried my best to resolve them. This was the first time no matter what we did that the customer was not happy. Thank you David Yount

Armortech installers arrived promptly on the appointed day, and removed the majority of the old leaky jalousie windows and installed Simonton Stormbreaker Plus windows. These windows were installed in the concrete block portion of the house. No problems were encountered, and windows were completely sealed around their perimeters with foam and caulk. All old window parts and debris was picked up and completely removed. The following day, the three doors and 2 windows in the wood frame part of the house were installed. The doors were adjusted to be plumb and level and work perfectly. Because of the wood frame construction in this part of the house, the 2 windows installed that day had mounting flanges around their edges. The house has a a stucco finish, so the stucco had to be cut away to allow the windows to be installed. Raised plastic forms were then attached to the outside edges of the windows so that stucco bands could be added later to complete the look. The 2 remaining items, the french door and a window next to it required the most time to install. This part of the install started the next day, with the interior portion of the wall removed to the studs. The opening for the window had to be made slightly smaller, and the opening for the french door had to be opened down to the concrete floor and also made narrower, as the existing window in that location was wider than the new french door. Armortech"s co-owner, Jeff, was on site and planned out and installed the window and door with the aid of a helper. Both openings were reinforced with 4 studs on either side, metal brackets and bands placed on the top of the studs to the header beam, and metals brackets lagged bolted to the concrete floor and the bottom of the studs. This was a extremely labor intensive part of the job, which took two days to complete. The sheetrock was replaced the next day. Jeff then came back on Saturday and Sunday to work on the stucco bands on the outside of the house. In all, three windows, one a tandem window, and the french door received stucco bands on their exterior edges. Jeff returned for several hours the next few days to finish up the stucco work. The job passed inspection with no problem. A couple of observations: The original time frame for the job was 4 days. Because of labor involved, the job probably took about 7 days. I have no problem with this, as I observed the care and attention to detail that displayed in the work performed. Also, with the labor and materials used to reinforce the wall openings, which I had no idea would be necessary, I paid the exact price agreed upon when I signed the contract, and not a penny more was asked for by Armortech. Overall, I am please with their work, and have noticed a difference in the temperature and quietness of the house. Hurricane impact windows and doors are very expensive, but I believe the upgrade to be worth it.

Service was prompt, fast, friendly. Cleanup was good. A big "tell" for us with service people is if they bring and use all their own equipment--no standing on our buckets or asking if we have a broom. Armortech people are definitely professionals and there was none of that nonsenses. Salesman is adorable and very, very clear about the product, the pricing, and the service. Nothing was promised that was not delivered. My "approximate cost of service" is very much a guess, as for some reason I can't at the moment find the folder... but yes, it was pricey but well worth it. We would have liked to get the whole house done but had to draw the line.

It went great. They were certainly not the cheapest (we looked at 2 other companies) but they were the most responsive with the best product. We knew from the beginning that we wanted to spend the money we had saved for renovations on the best possible structural projects instead of designer extras. We knew we wanted windows that would not need hurricane shutters. - their designer worked with us to help with the glass doors in the Florida room and as well as the sliding glass door to be added to the dining room. took our needs very seriously - punctual, on time, professional - this was a whole house, multi-day job and they did their best to not interfere with our lives. Arrived on time; left on time. Cleaned up very nicely. work- when the job was finished the supervisor came to inspect the and did not like some of the outside finish work (where the new doors were installed). I thought it was fine but he spent two days re-doing it himself. The attention to details was awesome. They definitely showed pride in their workmanship and their product.
Description of Work: We bought a 55 year old ranch house with the original windows. We replaced every window in the house, added a 3 door sliding glass door to the Florida room and added/installed a sliding glass door in the dining room where their had previously been a window. The installation included 2 HUGE "picture" windows in the front of the house.
