Description of Work: Acra added a designated 230V 40amp circuit for our hot tub. Two guys came, both were professional and efficient. I am very particular on how I want things done and they were very accommodating. You could not find a more honest, reliable, high and tight company to come work for you. They are highly recommended and I promise I am a hard customer to please!

 + -1 moreAs a result of the recent tropical storm, the canal water flooded several electrical boxes at the dock incapacitating my boat lift. Mikecame out and knew what the problem was even before he got to the dock. Besides fixing the 220 wiring to the dock motors, he quickly cleaned up some additional issues for me dockside. I cannot comment at this time on the charges as I have not yet received the invoice. These guy were fast and professional and they now on my list for the electrician to call.
Description of Work: Troubleshot and fixed the boat lift. Installed a switch and fixed the dock lights. Installed an outlet and cover in an existing box which had sustained damage.

 + 0 moreI called them for service on a Friday for what I thought was a defective power outlet in the garage. They answered they would be calling me back on Monday or Tuesday and they gave me an estimated price. They did not call me until Wednesday but, other than that, everything else went fine since. Jay, the technician, showed up on time went to work right away, troubleshot the problem, solved and repaired it in less than one hour. There was a part in the fluorescent light fixture called ballast that was failed; he had the part, changed it, cleaned out, did the paperwork and after courteously answering my questions got out of here. Now the light comes on faster and is brighter that before it quit working. The bill was very close to the estimate, it was professionally repaired and I am very satisfied with Acre Electrical and Jay. I would hire them again!

 + -1 moreI sincerely appreciated the pleasant attitude of both the people with whom I had spoken by phone when I initially called ACRA, and, above all, the friendly, totally professional completion of the work I requested to be done. Since having this house built, I have never been as pleased with any of the numerous electricians I have engaged over the years. I only recently joined Angie's List, and did not know about ACRA--only one more listing in the yellow pages--and am grateful to have had it recommended to me by Angie's other members. My experience with ACRA was A1.
Description of Work: Their electrician, Wayne, a) removed and replaced a badly rusted outside pipe covering the house electic grounding wire, which I had asked others to do for several years--others had always said they would return someday to change it, but never did so. b) replaced two fluorescent tubes in a high enclosed lighting fixture in a bathroom. I suggested he also replace the starter, as the lighting had been erratic for several weeks, but my ACRA electrician said he did not think it was necessary (!), and it wasn't: the lighting fixture has worked perfectly since he left. c) Removed an inner doorbell electronic receiver from a kitchen wall where two consecutive doorbells had been placed by two previous workmen only to fail to ring almost as soon as they were paid. After patiently testing it, he determined the best workable location for it to be placed was in the wall of another room. He screwed the fixture into the wall in a well-chosen, correctly-aligned position. I have had electricians from other companies leave me with plaster dust and slightly or decidedly out-of-line electric outlet or switch plates.

 + -1 moreThey installed a remote control system without our permission at a substantial additional cost. They billed us through the lift contractor for quite a lot of money. (over $400) --- After I questioned them about the additional invoice charges they offered to come take it off and put in a manual system - at that point I wasn't interested in them touching the system and offered them a $100 less than the invoice just to leave it there. I kicked myself after because it isn't worth the cost.

 + -1 moreWhat started out as a simple switch replacement developed into complicated trouble-shooting because of non-standard wiring installed by the prior owner of the house. The electrician had to call in his supervisor to help trace down what had been done originally. The supervisor was on site almost 2 hours and they did not charge us a penny for his time.

 + -1 moreJob was good, however, electrician was here for all of ten minutes. Price was for labor only, no parts required. Good money for ten minutes of work. When the electrician got here and I told him what needed to be done, he just proceeded to do the job. I thought he was looking to see what work he had to do to give me a quote, but he just did the work without letting me know how much it would cost. Worker was kind of sloppy as well bring mud into the house, and not what you would call exactly very friendly.
