Florida Garage Door Company

For reasons of safety and security, we decided to replace the impact-resistant storm panels for our garage door with an impact resistant garage door. We consulted Angie's list and selected a couple of large companies and a family-owned business, Florida Garage Door Company owned by Steve Davis. All the companies had "A" ratings and we also compared prices, products, and responsiveness. The products were comparable and Steve Davis' prices were competitive, but we chose his company because of his prompt response, product knowledge, personal service, and immediate return of phone calls. He answered all of our questions patiently and completely. He did not press for a decision and never seemed in a hurry. He contacted the homeowner of a recent installation and got permission for us to look at the door before we made our final decision. Steve showed up on time and he and Robert installed the door in the estimated time and left no mess behind. Both Steve and Robert were personable, professional, and knowledgeable. We are very pleased that we chose Florida Garage Door Company.

Steve and Chris did an excellent job. Chris took down and hauled away the old door and track. A new door and track were installed quickly. The door works perfectly and the city inspector was pleased with the workmanship.

Chris arrived on time, completed the job in a timely fashion and also cleaned up the work area. What else can I say but job well done. A+

Luckily it was not a complicated issue. Chris spotted the problem immediately and made the necessary repair. He also sold me a new programmable keypad at my request. I really felt that I was dealing with an honest person and was very grateful that at no point did he attempt to capitalize on my obvious lack of knowledge regarding garage doors. I wouldn't think of calling anyone else in the future.

The repairman, Chris, was friendly and very professional. He called before he came to do the work and was on time. He explained what the problems were and fixed them in one trip. The price was fair and the work was completed in a prompt manner. I would definitely use this company again and I would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends.

This is the second time I need garage door service and I used Steve and Florida Garage Door Company both times - I wouldn't go anywhere else! We bought a new condo - new to us, but still 25 years old. The garage door was wobbly and the opener was "iffy". I called Steve in the morning and explained the opener was quite old and I wanted to have a new opener installed rather than waiting for it to fail (believing that when it would fail it would be the worst possible time!). Steve was very responsive. He gave me a quote and arranged for his technician, Chris, to install a new opener the same day and also made sure it was scheduled in time for me to go to work later in the day. Chris called in advance and kept me informed of his expected arrival time. Chris arrived on time, removed the old opener, installed a new opener, made all the necessary adjustments, and completed the job in time for me to get to work on time. Chris, like Robert last year, was efficient, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to have do the work. If you need any kind of garage door work, call Steve!

This was one of the best service experiences I've had. Steve showed up exactly on time. Performed the work as quoted and in addition lubricated the rollers and joints. He also told me that this is a great garage door, very heavy and will withstand almost anything. Usually the technicians that I've worked with say that the work you received in the past was sub par and you should consider something new. He was very professional, quick and clean. I would use him again and highly recommend him.

Steve was on time when he came to check out the job and give us a price. We liked the price and we set the date. We had good communication during this period. On the day of installation, Steve showed up with a co-worker who did the hard work and was very friendly, especially if you keep him in ice water,,,lol,,, The work went smooth and they cleaned up the area when they were done. We are very happy with the whole experience.

Excellent. We were not using Angie's List, and started calling companies that serviced our area. We were so close to being ripped off... the experience over the phone was awful with these other companies. Luckily we called Florida Garage Door Company. We were given an estimate right away when we described the problem, we were told they would be here in an hour and they did. The technician was extremely professional, we could tell he knew exactly what he was doing, and fixed our door right away. He also gave us valuable advise... we would definitely call him again and without any doubt would buy a new door from him in the future. Professionalism, ethics, excellent service.

Excellent service! I had the same spring replaced less than 2 years ago with another company. When I called the previous company they argued that the spring that was replaced was on the other side, that it would cost $169.00, and that they were unable to come out until the next day. I then called Florida Garage Door Company and spoke to the owner who quoted me $140.00 and said they would be out within hours. The repairman, Robert, was at my house within 2 hours of my call. He was knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to have in my home. He replaced the spring, as well as tune up and lubricate the hinges. It was a very pleasant experience! Thank-you Florida Garage Door Company, Robert, and Angie's List for your wonderful service! And shame on you EDL for trying to convince me that it was the other spring that broke.

Arrived when they said they would, job took about 2.5 hours. They took down the old door and rails and installed the new door and rails. Reattached the existing garage door opener. Tested and cleaned up. The door is exactly as advertised and the price is great. I would definitely recommend Florida Garage Door Company if you need to replace or upgrade your door!

so I called Florida Garage Door to schedule a service at about 9AM, I told him I will need to get this fixed before 3PM, so that I can get my car out to pick up my daughter, he scheduled the service around 2PM, and promised it wont be a problem to get this fixed by 3PM, I confirmed this multiple times to make sure he will be able to fix it before 3 during the conversation, and get positive response. I am waiting, and waiting, and nobody calls me as promised, so I called him again around 2:10, and asked if he can still get it fixed before 3PM as I need to get my car out, he assured me that it wont be a problem. I called again at 2:50, this time, he is very rude, and told me, it is not like an appointment with lawer, he can not guarantee that he can do it on time, and he needs at least another hour before he can even come to my place. I can understand that you can not always control the time you spent with one customer, it really drives me crazy that the provider keeps promising something he may already know that he can not(or may not be able to) do it.

Florida Garage was able to accommodate a date that worked for me on short notice which I greatly appreciated as I had other vendors coming that day and knew I'd be home most the day. He called about a half hour ahead to let me know he was on his way. I wasn't sure what to expect but he definitely exceeded my expectations- this was a real **WOW** experience. The garage door now actually hums as it closes. I never even knew it could close that quietly! In addition to the rollers and tune up he also gave me information about the type of door it was and some information on keeping it running smoothly. He also advised that I shouldn't need additional maintenance on it for another two years-which was great to hear as many vendors might have suggested annual maintenance. I am very pleased with the great service provided by Florida Garage Door and highly recommend this company! Thank you!

Called Steve Davis at 8 am. He committed to being at our house by 1 pm, and they were actually 2 minutes early. The repair person was professional, knowledgeable and worked very quickly. He was done in less than an hour. He advised us on proper spring maintenance and how to secure the garage door against hurricanes. Overall a very, very positive experience! I recommend this company without rservation.

The repair person was Steve Davis I believe he did the work on my daughters home, she is a single mom working two jobs to make ends meet, so money is a little tight, these company treats you better then your cousin Vinnie, I really felt like I was having a close personal friend doing the work for us, they really go that extra mile, my daughter showed the repair person another issue that she explained she could not do at this time due to financial issues, he said we could repair the issue instead of replace it at thus time to save a few bucks, WHAT COMPANY DOES THAT??? I called around and spoke with several companies before deciding who to use. I ended up choosing Florida Garage Door Company and I am so happy. They are honest and saved me money. Anyone else would have taken advantage of me since I had no knowledge about garage doors. One of the parts which went bad had a life time warranty and they got me the free replacement part ASAP and then installed it for me. Also they answer the calls and they are the same ones who show up!

I called first thing in the morning because the chain broke last night. They came out exactly when they said they would. Unfortunately he didn't have the part on the truck, but said another man from the company would be out in the afternoon. I received a call a few hours later to tell me he would be out in half an hour. He showed up on time, took care of the problem, educated me on how the garage door and opener works and was very nice and very professional. I will use them for all my garage door needs in the future as the service, responsiveness, and demeanor of the workers in this company are far above and beyond the usual.

They gave me an appointment within 3 days even though it wasn't an emergency. The technician (I think his name as Steve) was on time, personable and professional. He found and fixed the problem pretty quickly. I would definitely use this company again.

I called and was given an estimate over the phone between $90-$125. I then scheduled an appointment for the next day. Chris showed up on time. He was a very nice man. He looked over my entire system, both garage doors (three car garage) and gave me advice on how to keep and maintain the doors. Chris did the work I wanted and was very professional. I was very happy and based on my experience I would definitely recommend this company.
