Broke heater failed to repair

I have had them out a couple of times to repair as well as maintain my systems. They have returned my phone call and Facebook message at night after-hours during an emergency loss of heat. When something happened a few weeks later, that may or may not have been directly related, they returned promptly and then fixed that issue without charge. A great experience all the way around. consultative in their approach to fixes, prompt, cost-conscious and very communicative. Both Steve and Charles do excellent work.

Hentkowski is a terrific company to deal with, you won't find better. Fast & efficient.

I've been a customer for over seven years (since I bought my house in Wilmington) and they have installed a new HVAC system in my home and perform my annual maintenance. It went great! Losing your AC in the office isn't fun. but they saved the day!

I hired Hentkowski based on the good customer review, but had a very bad experience. Overall, the service is over-priced and the quality is bad. 1) install a programmable A/C control. I purchased programmable ahead of time, and only need installation. The cost is over $100 for the . It is working though. 2) Install a piece of duct. about 5-6 feet long steel pipe. It took the technician about $20 minutes to do the work. Costs $225. It is working. 3) Heating tune -up. The tune -up costs a little over $139, and per their suggestion, I replaced a 2 pole contractor, which costs me another $134. After the tune-up and replacing the part, the technician told me that the heating system is working well. A couple weeks later, the same technician checked the heating again, and said while the heat-pump is working, the backup heating is broken. He cannot fix it, and suggested me replacing entire HVAC and Heating system, probably costs a few thousands dollar. So far, I won't say I have the best experience, but I won't write this bad review, if it is not the water heater issue. My water heater stopped working, and I called Hentkowski. The first time, the technician came and did a diagnosis without fixing it, charging me $80 for the diagnosis. The second time, the technician came and replaced the heating elements and charged $230. He told me it is fixed and the water heater would take 1 hour to heat the water. When I checked a couple hours later, it still does not work. The third time, the technician came, after checking a few things, and said the water heater is dead and I need to replace it with a new one. I paid over $300 to Hentkowski to fix the water heater and the only thing I got is a suggestion to replace it. The funny thing is that the next day, I hired another company. They fixed the water heater in 20 minutes and charged me $40 for the parts and the repair. They also told me the problem is very likely caused by the Hentkowski's technician. Hentkowski just don't know what they are doing but still over-charge customers.

Great service.

Professional, courteous, and punctual. They provided some recommendations on air filters and cleaned out the intake from leaves and other debris that was sucked up into the AC unit. Very happy with the service and will be using them again to replace my water heater from an electric to a gas one next year.

The service was great.  The came on time and were very professional.  The tech that came on the emergency call took care of the emergency but when I asked him to install the wifi thermostat I had bought, he suggested that I get a non-emergency appointment to save money!  I did that and the second tech came out right on time, did the work well, and I was very happy.  After he left, I made some changes to my wireless router and that required me to redo the settings on the thermostat. I was not sure of a few settings so I emailed a couple questions via Angie's list.  They were responsive and eventually called me to help out.  The settings were fixed and all is well.

Hentkowski, Inc. installed my unit with above and beyond service!  They arrived promptly and were professional.  My unit was up and working the same day.  Pipes were wrapped with insulation, any holes made were filled with insulation foam. Pipes were expertly mounted to walls using metal clamps.  Since my house is on a slab, piping was run up the side of my house, across my attic area, and down into my closet in the hallway.  The outside piping was covered and this gave the job a finished, neat look.  They also took time to fix the light that was in my closet so it could again be functional for me. They were very detailed oriented and considerate.  Finally, Hentkowski gave me a detailed tour of what they did, and explained to me why they did it.  They also explained the use of my new thermostat and that also made my life easier. 

My experience went very well. They were very professional and knowledgeable in their field. I would recommend this company to others.

We have used Hentkowski for the past 16 years and have been very happy with the service provided. They are responsible for our oil fired boiler and also installed an HVAC system in our addition  3+ years ago which included adding heat and ac in the old part of the house. Finished on time and on budget.

We always call Hentkowski because they are reliable. They are excellent to work with. We have been using them since we bought our house 15 years ago. They are very professional, show up on time, polite and no nonsense.

I did not like the company at all. I was not happy with them. When they had to go up on the roof they did not seal it properly when putting in the new chimney. The water was leaking down into the furnace and I made many service calls for it since the system was out of warranty I had to pay for it. I had such a struggle working with them. Once they knew there was water condensation building up they should have checked the roof but they did not. They also did not explain to me that the water could even be coming from the roof which ended up costing me a lot of money. I eventually had to hire someone else to fix the work they did.

They did a really good job. They did everything they said they would do. Their prices were lower than the other quote I received and the cost ended up being as quoted. They cleaned up well and did a tidy job. Overall, it was a good experience and I felt they were honest about what they could and could not do.
