They were exactly on time, and started the job right away. There were three men who worked on the job. they put down throw rugs to cover the carpeting in the room they were working in. They were very pleasant from beginning to end, and took great pains to explain how everything was done. They gave us a lesson on how to program the new thermostat. They took away all the old equipment and the containers from the new. There was only one thing they could have done better. They took out some ceiling tiles to install some of the new lines for the humidifier, and didn't put it back. But the new furnace is working great, and the house is much more comfortable than before. I would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: Removed old furnace and air conditioner, and installed a new one. This included removing the old dial thermostat and installing a new programmable one. The new furnace includes a whole house humidifier.

They were ok. I feel like they were in a hurry to get everything completed. I just did not feel like he did not do everything he should have done with the initial visit. The installation of the heating and cooling unit was fine, but they did leave a mess. The electrical work seemed hurried, which caused him to come back and charge more for additional work. For example, they were out doing our job and received a call for another job. Once they got off the call, they packed up and left. When the county inspector came out to look at the work, the technician did not even go through the home with him. After the county inspection, they did not even follow up on the job. Their responsiveness, punctuality, follow through and communication was very lacking. I would not use them again in the future.

Everything was great. They also do the tune ups as well. When we purchased the furnace, we got a two year maintenance contract. They had options on the types of furnaces available. The installation itself went well. The technicians showed up on time and came through with all of their promises. Once the work was completed, the removed the old heater, but we had to arrange for the removal of the oil tank. Overall, we have been very pleased with their services.

The installation went very well and we are happy with their service. When we got bids for the installation, they were competitive with their pricing and had the appropriate size unit we need. We also have an annual service contract with them for both units for them to come out twice a year. The technicians are very professional, courteous and prompt. They are also reasonably priced. They call us when it is time for the annual inspections. We recommended them to a neighbor for unit installation as well and they had a good experience as well. I liked that they hauled away the old units and cleaned up well afterwards. Overall, I have been pleased with their services.

Because it was a holiday weekend, it's hard to get someone out but they came right out. They didn't charge us extra for it. The guy got two window air conditioning units and put them in the master bedroom and in our living room and didn't charge us for that as well. It's just really an outstanding service. They recommended a more efficient unit. It costs a little bit more but on our electric bill, I'm noticing that it's less and you don't hear the unit turned on now. It's very quiet. They offered us different options and it was our choice to do that. They did a great job installing it. They were very thorough. They also damaged the spring door but they fixed it. Their office is so awesome. The most impressive thing about them is their response time. When they said they're gonna call me back, they call me back. I called them on a Friday and they had someone else here at 7 o'clock to look at it. Their receptionist was instrumental in making the whole thing happen. She called me back and told me exactly what was going to be done. I really would highly recommend them.

It went well. The basement has not flooded again and the drains are running through with no back up. The person who helped was very quick and informative. He also gave me advice on how to fix another issue on my own and where to go to get the parts that I need to do so. He didn't just replace everything on his own, he gave me good advice on how to wait until I was ready to replace my faucetts rather than just replacing them now.

Plumber found the leak, but not until after he used bare channel grip pliers to remove a $50 shower arm from my bath that I had purchased and installed to gain a rainshower function. Left the chrome shower arm damaged and in need of replacement. What careless, completely unacceptable behavior! Thankfully Ryan Homes agreed to pay for the replacement, but I definitely didn't need the added aggravation considering the leak that is causing us considerable drywall replacement was due to unsatisfactory copper pipe welding by Sobieski Plumbing during the home's construction. Pay myself for the warranty plan offered by Sobieski after my builder's new home warranty expires??? I don't think so!!!

They were very nice and professional until I revealed to them that I had another competitor estimate that 30% lower than theirs. After the rep talked with his boss on the phone, they almost matched it. We felt that they were being dishonest by giving us a quote that was so much different than they were willing to go. Therefore, despite the fact that I felt they would have quality service, I didn't go with them.

Dear [member name removed], Thank you so much for the positive comments about our people and our company! We appreciate your sincerity. We are very sorry to hear that your were not fully satisfied with your experience in obtaining a quote from us for your two 2.5 AC units. We pride ourselves on fair & honest pricing that is competitive in the marketplace. We fully admit that we are not the cheapest contractor, but being cheap is not our goal. Our focus is to provide the best value based on quality work, quality service, and quality employees. The Comfort Advisor who met with you uses a company approved price book to provide fair and balanced pricing to all of the customers that we serve. We find that having the pricing book does away with any customer concerns about whether the price is based on what neighborhood you live in or what car you have in the driveway. Our Comfort Advisors assess each customer’s needs, determines the best system for the customer, and is able to provide the price from the pricing book on the spot. The Comfort Advisor has the authority to provide a nominal % discount if he is able to, but any other pricing adjustments have to come from the office. In this specific situation our Sales Manager knew that our workload for the week justified providing a more substantial discount and that’s why he agreed to the lower price. He believed that by giving you a better deal on the spot he could exceed the commitments that he needed to meet for the week. If this had happened the following week, the deal may or may not have been available based on the workload. We respect your decision to go with a competitor’s estimate, but if you have any further questions or needs in the future, please contact our Sales Manager, John Fletcher, at 302-993-0104 x. 245. Again, we are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your experience and hope we can help you find a solution in the future. Our goal is to build life-long relationships with our customers and that is why over 80% of our business is from existing customers and their referrals to family, friends, and neighbors.

Workers were on time and professional. Wore booties while working. Cleaned up everything before leaving. Workers arrived at 8 a.m. and were finished by 3 p.m. The service warranty, which is transferrable, is for 10 years, and that includes Sobieski coming out twice a year to check the system and install new filters. Sobieski also calls before technicians arrive and also as technicians come to the door. They are identified by Sobieski before coming into the home. Sobieski calls to schedule the system checks so that the homeowner does not have to remember to do so. The only concern that I have is that the last time the system was checked, the technician did not have the filter. I was told that it would arrive in several days, but I actually had to call to receive the filter. In the future, I will tell the scheduler to make sure that the filter is with the technician.

I have NO idea how anyone could give this company a decent rating. I have never experienced such ineptitude from supposed "professionals" in my life. This company installed a heating system/media filter/humidifier in my house several years ago. The servicemen were very nice and prompt, however it quickly became apparent that they had no idea what they were doing. Soon after the installation, I noticed an oily residue on the surfaces of my house. Additionally, I occasionally saw "smoke" come from the vents when the system went on. I called the company, and they had a rep come out to fix the issue. It only got worse. Now the heater made a horrible bang sound when it came on. It also seemed we were burning an inordinate amount of oil, and our programmable thermostat wouldn't work. It got so I was afraid to breathe the air in my house, or even live there! This went on for several weeks, and the service techs couldn't figure out how to fix the problem. One guy was even bending parts to make them fit. (My husband saw this and made him leave) We refused to pay for any of the failed visits, though they charged each time they came out. Finally, we were so exasperated, we called another provider (Calfo and Haight) recommended by a friend. Immediately, they saw the problem. The entire system was installed incorrectly! The new provider got a rep from Trane (the heater brand) on the phone, to make sure it was re-installed correctly. (This included moving the flue, which was at a wrong angle) We paid almost $500 to have the system fixed, but it then worked absolutely perfectly. My husband called to complain to Sobieski, and even sent a report to the Better Business Bureau. They had the nerve to take us to court to try to get their bill paid. They were unsuccessful,(we kept detailed records) and the judge even mentioned that we had a case of our own. I have since heard similar stories about this company. I discourage anyone from using them.

Called on 7/17 because of a sulfur smell in the basement - well all over the house actually. I was given a window of 2-6. When we were out shopping at 1:00, I got a call that they were at my front door. I pointed out that we had given that we had been given a 2:00 window and weren't able to get back for awhile. He eventually noticed the service window at the bottom of his work order, and said he would come back at 2:00. At 2:00, he was very prompt. He attempted to diagnose the problem, but after an hour of trying, he gave up, collected the dispatch charge (which as we are home care members, was only half of the normal charge), and left. We then got some people from the city (thinking that it was sanitary sewer), as well as someone from the gas company to come out. They mentioned that it could be the pit we have, as it wasn't sealed properly, but they were not able to truly pinpoint the source of the smell, though I'm not sure they tried. I called Sobieski back to seal up the pit, and the appointment coordinator told me she would forward my info to the guy who had been out the day before. He never called back. So I called again the next morning, and told her I would like someone different. The new guy came out within his service window, and sealed up the pit. But that is all he did. He did not try to further diagnose the problem, because sealing it obviously didn't solve the problem. In all fairness, I did call him out just to seal the pit, and was not charged another dispatch charge. However, I was a little disappointed because all he did was seal the cracks with silicone. We could have easily done that, but called a professional because we thought they would provide a professional solution. Even though we are home care members, I am pretty sure that we will not be calling them again. It wasn't an awful experience, but we did pay $120 for pretty much nothing. We did end up getting our problem fixed by a different plumber entirely.
Description of Work: Came out to diagnose a sulfur smell in our utility room. Was not able to diagnose. Called them back the next day to perform a service that we requested that the thought would solve the problem. Service was performed, but it didn't alleviate our problem.

After charing me $180 to replace an A/C capacitor (that was their home care club price), I questioned why a $20 part that costs 10 minutes to replace would cost me that much. Response was, well that's what it costs. Two years earlier a tech recommended a brand new furnace (to replace an 8-year-old system), but since not once did a tech recommend it again or mention the problem that may require something new. I had a $4,000 tankless hot water heater put in. Although service and installation was good, I ended up needing an expansion tank, which was never mentioned as a possibility to also be needed.I am moving on and will now be working with a local plumber and local HVAC company who hopefully cares a little more about their customers and wanting to keep them.

Three quotes; Sobieski had the most professional salesman; he said Sobieski would not be the highest or lowest bidder and he was correct; installation was completed in 8-9 hours; came back the next day on my request; I truely would and already have recommended Sobieski to others
Description of Work: excellent salesman with great followup and answered all my questions in a very timely manner. Installation was relatively problem free and they responed the next day with an adjustment that was facilitated by me. They were not the lowest bidder, but they got my business due to the professionalism of the salesman. With HVAC systems get at least three quotes - mine varied as much as $3000 from lowest to highest.

They are my contractor. They installed a new A/C system a couple of years ago. They have my heating, A/C, and plumbing contract. Dealing with them has been quite good. The plumbing guy was very professional, but he was also looking for sideline business for himself. He isn't technically licensed in this county. There were a number of items in my house that he brought to my attention, including replacing my heater. I wrote to the company about it, but they didn't seem to comprehend that they have a guy with a problem. Generally, I've had a good experience with this company, but this guy was a wild card. I felt like he was holding the work hostage.

I have a service contract for my heating and air conditioning unit with them. They are going to come back on Friday for a full check on my heating system. It was a standard service call when they came out in the spring. The technician who came out was really nice. I need to get some plumbing done since my house is getting old enough. I haven?t yet called them for the plumbing job. They are a big organization and they do all kinds of stuff. They deal with commercial and industrial applications. They deal with all the technical issues and are very multifaceted in their expertise. It?s interesting that they have got that kind of reach. The sales person that I dealt with was excellent and he is still with them. He took care of me when I wanted to use their services. I had got a couple of other bids from other people for the HVAC and he had impressed me the most. I spoke to him recently and he told me that he would help me. I may have them do some ductwork cleaning in my house. I would get a quote for that job and they would come out to look at some of the technical things. So I have got a good working relationship with them. They once came out on a weekend in bad weather since there was some problem with the furnace. There was some kind of tape that was put on the duct coming out of the furnace. So they changed it to a different kind of heat proof tape and luckily it was a small issue. I had to first explain to them as to what was going on and then the technician came out to fix it. They are probably not the cheapest down here but they are competitive. They are probably in the same price range as another heating and AC company. I think I am getting what I am paying for. They are generally punctual, but the technician was late once because of the traffic and he called me. However, he did a nice job when he was here. He even adjusted everything with my unit. He fixed my unit once and didn?t charge me anything for it. I would use their services in the future too.

I felt that I was terribly overcharged for the amount of work done. The plumber was here for 30 minutes and replaced a spigot and about 8-10 inches of copper pipe...$320! Maybe that's the going rate for all plumbers for that job but I intend to look for less expensive alternatives. On top of the price issue, the plumber did not provide an estimate, walked through the house with wet shoes (it had been raining), and never mentioned that there were coupons on their Web site that I could have used to save a little money. I will never use Sobieski again and would not recommend them to anyone.

We need to replace our heat pump system so I called this company and scheduled an appointment with one of their sales person. We live in another state so my tenant was nice enough to stay home that morning to wait for the sales. The appointment was supposed to be on a Friday morning, between 8-12. By 12 noon, nobody came and nobody called us. So I called the firm and the sales called me back saying that we had a miscommunication about the time. He thought it was Friday all day. So we agreed to change the appointment to 12 noon on the following Sunday so that we can drive to the house and meet him. Since it's a 2 and half hour drive for us to get to the house, we tried to schedule 3 appointments on the same day, so we can get as many quotes in one day as we can and make decision quicker. I had 10am, 11am and 12pm appointments scheduled. Again, this sales from Sobieski did show up at 12pm, and until now, not even a single phone call to us. I could have met with other company sales if this guy didn't take up the 12pm slot! That's so much I've experienced with this company and will NEVER do business NOR recommend them to friends!

We called them in the summer when our A/C broke. A week later (after much sweating and after several other estimates from other companies), a salesman FINALLY called to set up an appointment. Once the sales guy paid us a visit, he explained everything well and gave us a quote. We received another lower offer from a competitor, and the sales guy worked with us to match the price and system. It was a shame that we had to haggle to do this, but we were pleased that we ended up getting a better system at a lower price than the original quote. Even more impressive is that we were able to do the haggling over the weekend with the same sales guy. He returned calls quickly -- even on the weekend. When we signed a contract for installation, we had installation scheduled for the next day. When installation day came, the installers were on time. They removed the indoor and outdoor units. The new parts were a little late in arriving so the installers had some wait time, but stayed past 6:00 PM to finish the job without any complaining. They installed and tested everything in one day as promised. We're now cool in the summer and have even noticed a slight dip in our energy usage! Would recommend to a friend without hesitation.
Description of Work: Full heating and AC unit installed. Replaced furnace, blower, outdoor AC unit with whole new system with puron.
