"Welcome to the BDry family and thanks for the great review/feedback. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance in the future. - The BDry Guy"
Crew arrived on time and got the job done in (2) days. Probably about 18 hours total. They stayed until the very end and made sure everything was done properly. Even returned the next day to run a water line from the hot water heater discharge valve into the sump pit.
The very next day, it rained all day and there was no signs of water in my basement. So far so good, no complaints here. Hopefully it holds up. I'll wait a year before finishing the basement, maybe sooner if we get some torrential rains and everything stays dry. Thanks B-Dry.

My biggest disappointment was in the estimator. The job ended up costing considerably thousands more than originally estimated because he didn't take into consideration the cost of a major piece of equipment.
"The customer did pay more money to purchase a battery back-up pump as redundant protection for her basement area. The consultant offered a special promotion for a free $3k indoor air quality unit but failed to tell the customer that the purchase of a $900 battery back-up pump was necessary to get the deal. It was an oversight on the part of our consultant, the foreman was able to identify the mistake and we did the added work at a lower rate. The consultant was no longer employed by B-Dry when the work was performed but if he had been we would’ve addressed the customer’s concerns with him. We pride ourselves on a thorough inspection and an accurate assessment of each customer’s issue. We are glad that the customer would recommend us and that she is protected with the a battery back-up pump and has all the health benefits of our Blue Canyon indoor air quality unit. Thanks for trusting B-Dry."
Their sales rep came out, I discussed the water issue and he recommended the work that was done 11/17/04 (see above section).
As instructed I moved everything 6' or more from the area where the work was to be done. I also hung up plastic drop cloths as barriers to the concrete dust I expected to be produced.
Well, there was so much more concrete dust than I could have imagined, some of it even got upstairs. The work crew did not seem concerned about making any attempt to reduce the dust. I realize that some dust will be produced when concrete is dug up , but still.
The work was completed, the crew left. I found trash and work debris outside of my basement on my property, not cleaned up by B-Dry. I called B-Dry immediately and asked them to come clean it up and to correct the exterior PVC sump-pump drain which they said they would do as part of the job. They did send someone back who cleaned up the trash and addressed the PVC tubing. The issue is that I should not have had to call for this in the first place. This first job cost $5300.00.
6/2006: My basement remained dry for almost 2 years, then water would come in again during a heavy rain (there were heavy rains during this almost 2-year period without water coming in). I called B-Dry to see what they would do for me. That same sales rep came back and said I needed a second sump-pump and the continuation of the "B-Dry System" (see above section 6/30/06). I asked him why he did not tell me that the first time he came out. He said he was trying to save me money and thought I would probably be OK with his original proposal.
I agreed to further work at the cost of $2610.00. So again with the inordinate amount of concrete dust and mess. Job completed. I go out to inspect the PVC piping from the new sump-pump. I find the pipe just comes out of the wall without any type of silicone sealant or caulking around it. I call B-Dry, they send somebody back to seal the opening. Again, I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO make these kind of calls to a company that did work for me.
Now, I should be all set, no more water problems right? Wrong.
Again a few years go by where no water comes in the basement. Then during a heavy rain water comes under the door and flows around the catch drain into the rest of my basement. I call B-Dry, they say, something like "Well, it was a heavy rain" That's why I spent over $7900.00, to be prepared for heavy rains, or anything that cause water to come into my basement. I said I wanted someone to come out and check the system. The B-Dry person told me it would be a $100.00 charge if no problem with the "B-Dry System" was found. I said OK, figuring there had to be a problem. Guess what, some how it was not B-Dry's fault. The "technician" who came out said it was probably a combination of the heavy rain and mud in the outside drain. I paid the $100.00.
This happened again, I called, got the same story about the $100.00 charge and insisted someone come out. The "technician" checked everything, said the B-Dry System was working fine. When I expressed my frustration and dissatisfaction with B-Dry, he told me he would write up the service visit as no-charge. Great. Then I get a bill in the mail for the $100.00 service visit. I call B-Dry and ask to speak to a manager, I'm told that's who I was speaking with. I related the events that transpired to no avail. I told him the "technician" told me he would write the visit up as a "No Charge". The manager told me that the "technician" was not authorized to make that offer. I asked him what B-Dry would do if I refused to pay. He said they would take legal action. I "negotiated" the bill down to $60.00.
After water got into my basement yet again, with the same response, or lack of, from B-Dry I realized it would never be B-Dry's fault. I did not request someone to come out. I do not believe they stand by their "warranty". B-Dry will always find an excuse why it's not their responsibility when water gets in the basement that they "Water-proofed".
I will NEVER hire them again. If I am asked by anyone who is looking for a company to water-proof their basement I will tell them to use anybody except B-Dry.
"The work that we typically perform can involve a good deal of demo work and this can occasionally be dustier than normal depending on many factors. We apologize if it was more than you were prepared to handle and we make every effort to use plastic to cover your items and now use vortex fans to control the dust and quickly move it outside. This wasn't the case when your system was installed by the previous owner of the company back in 2004. Your local ofice is now corporate controlled and we take every precaution to minimize dust. Now with regard to the last water you had and the outside drain we installed, please understand that the drain on the outside of your door has to be kept free of sludge, dirt, leaves, and debris in order to operate properly. The water under the door was a result of the drain being full of debris. There is some homeower involvement to maintain that exterior part of the system but we're glad to do it but must charge for the service. It's like buying gutters and having to keep them free of leaves for them to work properly. The inside waterproofing system needs no maintenance and all that's needed is an occasional check of the pump before the rainy season begins. If there's ever a problem with the B-Dry system itself then you pay absolutely nothing to have that issue resolved. This guarantee is for the life of your home regardless of ownership and is spelled out in the documentation we leave behind wtih each owner. As long as the exterior door drain is kept leaf and dirt free you should get years of protection from that drain and the interior waterproofing that has served you since 2004. If you don't want to clean the drain yourself, ever need an annual service plan or would like to schedule maintenance we would be happy to provide those services. Thank you for your comments because they help us to continue to improve our services."
