Mr. Carpenter was very professional, friendly and knew his stuff. He laid tarps on my floor so he wouldn't track in dirt or scratch the hardwood floor! He checked the connections from the dryer to the outside vent and brushed and vacuumed from both ends. Very thorough. I'll be doing this once a year.

I had my dryer vent cleaned out. It was very clogged with 7 years of lint and several birds nests in there. John Carpenter had his work cut out for him. He was very professional, courteous, and thorough in the cleaning activity. Well worth the cost which was very reasonable for two hours of work on a house call.

Pros: They called ahead of time and arrived on time the day of the install. Completed the job within the time window they mentioned and cleaned up. Placed the PVC piping in an excellent place both inside and outside the home. They did a good job. Pre Radon Mitigation level was 3.4 pCi/L. Post Radon Mitigation level after system install was <1.1 pCi/L Cons: Lack of billing transparency. The cost estimate was calculated on the installers hand held device and relayed to me verbally. They failed to supply an itemized estimate breakdown of the cost, either written or electronically despite me asking for a cost breakdown I could retain at both the time of the estimate and after the mitigation installation was completed. I had to email and call their office after the job was completed and then they only sent me something with the total price listed but with no line item breakdown. I couldn't see how they derided the cost. At the time of the estimate I was quoted one price but the final price I paid was $50 higher. With no cost breakdown I was not able to see where and why the increase. They are expensive. I checked the Home Advisor True Cost Guide for Radon Mitigation in my area. Lawson was hundreds more expensive then the high end listed on HA even with installation of a new sump pump cover. My neighbors on both side of me had Radon mitigation done by other companies and it was $300 or more cheaper. If you decide to go with this company for your radon mitigation needs I recommend you insist on a written ITEMIZED estimate before you authorize them to install. Also, get a quote from another company. I usually get at least two quotes before I proceed with any contract work but I was pressed for time. That was a mistake. I give them an A on the work and a D on the price and billing transparency

Lawson Home Service did an incredible job. The installer was prompt, professional and was very informative as the how the Radon Gas is mitigated.
