Ms. Tanya Lewis started our working relationship with great promise but it did not end that way. She was responsive and eager to start work. Ms. Lewis provided a comprehensive proposal for my heavy up and was ready to start within days. Her staff showed up and did a decent job minus the damage they did to another trades work. Ms. Lewis agreed to pay part of the cost to fix the mistake. The inspection went well but once Ms. Lewis got the final check, the problems started. I found out later that she got the less expensive permit for $25 and not the heavy-up permit. While she saved herself, some money DCRA would not sign-off with Pepco for the completion of the heavy-up. Ms. Lewis of course said she would work it out but then refused to respond to my emails and telephone calls for 3 months. Since I do not have an electrical license, I could not switch the permit myself and had to hire another electrician to come in and review the work and pull another permit. That cost me 3 months and an additional $300. Another example of POOR customer service in DC. Don’t listen to Ms. Lewis story about how she worked at DCRA and can get anything done because after she gets your money, well you won’t be getting anything done. Stay away from this contractor.
