Keyed In LLC

Found provider on Angie's list. Responed same day; explained problem. Replaced lock and deadbolt with high quality merchandise and showed us how to use. Worked quickly and neatly. Would certainly use again.

We called Keyed In to re-key the locks in a new home. When the person from Keyed In arrived he told us that we couldn't re-key because the locks were old and had been re-keyed before. He assured us the locks he had were of superior quality to the ones we had at the time. We decided to go ahead. Shortly after the locksmith left, we wanted to leave the house and the top lock on the front door would not turn. We tried it several times and finally were able to lock the door. I called back the company and they told me they transferred me to the locksmith who had done the job. He told me that kind of issue sometimes happens to locks right after they are installed but should go away. I insisted that he come check out the problem because I wanted to make sure we would not be caught again trying to leave the house without being able to properly lock our front door. He told me he would check his calendar and text me a date and time to come back in the following couple of days when he had another job nearby - I said I would make myself available. He never called or texted me. I called the company again on 6/13 because the problem continues to persist. The person who answered the phone apologized and told me the locksmith would come back to fix the issue on 6/15 between 2 and 4 pm. On 6/15 around 11.30 am the locksmith calls me and says that his schedule has changed and he can either come earlier or we can reschedule. I asked him what time he would come and he told me he had another job nearby and then would be coming over. I asked him to call after his job and he suddenly seemed annoyed. He asked me what the problem was with the lock and I explained. He told me he already knew what the issue was and told me to open the door and try to turn the bolt, which I did and it worked - which it does on and off, the problem is that it is not consistent. He then told me the door was sagging and asked if the top of the door was a straight line and I said yes and told him there were no signs of sagging. Then he said the issue must be that the door needs to be reframed and that is not covered by the warranty on the service he provided. He added that he could come over to take a look but that would not be covered. I told him that I would not be paying for any additional services as both the door and lock were working perfectly before he installed new locks. He told me again (several times) that this was not a covered issue. I told him Keyed In had lost my trust because they had not come through on any of the promises - quality product (after talking to friends who have worked as locksmiths, I was told the locks I was sold were not good quality and that I overpaid), warranty, and service (for all the reasons above) and that I would be writing a review on Angie's list as an unsatisfied customer - during this part of the conversation the locksmith continued to talk over me and I eventually hung up. He called me back and told me that I could write a review on Angie's list but the company would take it down, in his words, as they had with so many other reviews before mine because the issue I was having was not covered by their warranty. I am extremely dissatisfied between being sold cheap locks for great locks, feeling that once the sale had been made the company was not responsive to my complaint, and finally being dismissed because a locksmith who won't even come to take a look at the lock has conveniently diagnosed the problem over the phone as being an issue that is not covered. I trusted this company because it had so many great reviews on Angie's list. I hope I can continue trusting the reviews I read on this site!

It was a great overall experience! I had never used this company before... found them on Angie's list and they were outstanding! The guy (Mark) showed up on time and was very responsive and performed the work flawlessly. I used an Angie's List coupon ($75.00 for $35.00) and payed only the balance of $74.00 after the work was completed. Everything he installed works great and looks great. Mark even helped me with another small issue with one of our bathroom doors not closing correctly. He was knowledgeable and completed the work in a timely manner. Thanks Mark!!!!

This is the second time that I have used this company. They are fast, efficient, friendly and competent.

Roy came at a very short notice to repair a broken lock. He also installed a new lock even though it was not planned for. He was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous.

Shay was very prompt, explained very well what was needed, prepared an estimate, repaired and replaced the lock. The service was very smart and of high quality.

Mr. Roy David removed the cruciform lock core, troubleshot the lock and let me know what was the problem. He had to rebuild the core which he did in 15 minutes and reinstalled the lock. Entire job took less then an hour. Awesome!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. We had to pay something extra. It was all good. They were very helpful and it was good service overall. It was a little pricey.

Had several doors with different keys, they rekeyed some of the doors to use the same key. Did not do all the doors because of the cost of the service. We were initially told that it would be more efficient to replace all of the locks, however the price was more than we were will to pay, so the technician rekeyed some of the locks instead.

Roy arrived on time, explained all the options, and was extremely professional.

The technician arrived when promised. The work was professional and he was friendly. He used a slightly more decorative lock on the front door to coordinate with my door handle.
