We called around 10 in the morning and they came out in the afternoon. He was on time and very professional. He was very understanding and accommodating and tried to work around our budget. We had issues with one of the key pads. They came back out yesterday to look at us and show us how to resolve the problem. Overall it was great service from them.

The beginning of the experience was great. I called in the morning and was able to get an appointment within hours. The technician called ahead and was on time. Hence the punctuality A score. However, that's when things went downhill. First the technician told my mother that the lock being replaced no longer existed. (it was a deadbolt where the inside lock could be turned with a thumbturn instead of a key. He only had one where the inside lock had to be locked with a key.) I looked online and found our exact same lock for $45. I also found the equivalent lock in another brand at the hardware store for $22. He replaced the lock- it took about an hour, that was fine. He had to saw away some of the door wood to make room for the new lock. Apparently he made too much room and stuck a piece of paper in the space. He didn't even use all of the screws that came with the lock. The crowning achievement was when the technician managed to lock himself and my 76-year-old mother out in 90-degree weather. Apparently the lower lock (which can be locked by pushing and turning the button) was still locked when he had her come outside with him. He blamed her loudly and was extremely rude and surly to her. Even assuming that she had left the lower lock locked (which is debatable since she had to open the door for him), it was up to the locksmith (an alleged professional) to check before putting them in that situation. So she was forced to find a phone to call me at work. It cost me a $15 cab-fare to get there as quickly as I could, not to mention that I had to put in for annual leave. He bought her a bottle of water and apologized to me (but not her). And all of this cost me $357 (not counting the cab-fare or the hours of leave), a price that included the 15% angieslist discount. The lock itself was the bulk of the price - $255: I looked up the lock online and found prices as low as $17 for it. Hence the F in price. It may be that a markup of that size is normal, in which case the lesson is to provide your own lock. The work was only $105, which seems reasonable. I guess the rude treatment of a senior citizen was priceless. Update: my mother complained and the owner of the company came out immediately- he took out the piece of paper and put in the two missing screws. He was rapidly responsive to my mother's complaints, so I appreciated that. And he apologized for the technician's rudeness. Hence the A in responsiveness. The C in professionalism is an average of the owner's A and the technician's F.

First I selected this company because it was an Angies Super Service Award Winner. The technician that came out got very upset when I went down to the basement to question what was wrong when I kept hearing the basement door slamming. He was rude. Then I had problems with the knob lock disengaging when the door was closed. So I called and talked to I guest the owner and told him the problem that I had with the technician and that I had problem with that one lock. He apolozied and said he would come out fix it and he did come out and fix the problem. The locks as far as I am concern are not worth the cost.

It went very well. I'd wanted to do have my locks rekeyed after letting contractors have keys before I moved in. One day, I ended up having a day off and called Keyed-in. I think they would have preferred to schedule the job ahead of time, but when I explained that I had this short window of opportunity that I wanted to take advantage of, they agreed to help me out by sending someone within the hour. At first, I was planning on just having the existing locks re-keyed. But the locksmith that came out showed me that my deadbolt was being held on by only one screw, and was not the ideal deadbolt to have if the fire department ever had to make an emergency entrance, so it should be replaced. I decided to have both locks changed since they were both old and outdated, and not terribly attractive. Though he didn't have the necessary replacements with him, he was able to call a coworker who brought the new locks to us within the half hour. It was really great service and I appreciate the speed with which they arrived, and completed the work. The price for the work was more than reasonable.

At first we were told that they could easily rekey our existing locks (new Schlage) and we were given a quote for that. We were told that if we did not buy their locks, the guaranty they offer is void. We agreed to the work and they actually showed up the same day we told them they had won the job from our quotes. Everything went well until all of the locks were off of the doors. Then the technician told me that they would not be able to rekey these locks because one broke and that I would have to buy all new locks from them. I was very upset and asked why. He became very defensive and I asked him to leave. I was told that the new locks wouldn't be more than $40.00 over the original estimate. We both calmed down and I told him to go ahead and change the locks but I wasn't happy about it. He changed the locks and everything went smoothly. In the end, I was charged less than the original quote so I do appreciate the customer service efforts to keep my business. Keep the reviews in mind that say you will have to replace your locks and get a quote for both REPLACEMENT and rekeying before you start work.

The company was very responsive when I called and sent someone out on a Sunday morning at no additional charge. They are a 24/7 service. That part was great. The technician was not very friendly, the work was mediocre, and the price high. We had already purchased locks at Home Depot and wanted to use those locks. I had installed one that wasn't perfect and the tech did touch that up with some wood filler for me for free. That was nice, however, I was going to buy a tube at home depot for $4, so not anything that special. The tech also wouldn't key the home depot locks to the same key, because they were not from the company - I actually understand this and have no complaints about it - just noting it. On the front door - the tech literally unscrewed the old lock and put the new one in the exact same place - charge $100 for 15 minutes of work. For some reason, that seems high to me. On the back door - the tech had to saw away part of the door jam/frame to fit the lock in and it looks pretty bad now. We wish he would have told us that he was going to have to cut the door frame away, because we would have left the old lock or considered something else. However, the tech wasn't overly friendly until the work was complete or neat the end of the job. So, the company was responsive, did complete the work, but it's not the quality that I would have liked for the price that we paid.

Everything went well - the technician arrived early (he called to let me know). We assessed my locks and he quickly got to work after explaining everything in detail. The locks are solid and high quality and the technician answered all of my questions. I believe it was worth the investment. The big deal was certainly helpful because many locksmiths in the area charge between $50-$100 for a service call alone. The prices for the locks and the installation seemed reasonable for the qualify of materials and work.

We had just lost my Dad, and on top of it someone stole my Mom's keys a few days later. Guy (the locksmith) could really have taken advantage of two grieving women, but instead he did a top-notch job on the front door, and gave us some lower cost suggestions for other doors. My dad had installed commercial grade locks on some doors, which would have cost a big bundle to replace, but Guy had some solutions which made us feel just as safe, for a considerably lower cost. We are indebted to him, for giving us some comfort and a feeling of security at a time when we really needed it. I would absolutely recommend this company, and would definitely use them again.
