Description of Work: Replaced locks.

Description of Work: I contacted this company to install multiple deadbolt locks. I got quotes from 3 different companies. This company was the cheapest AND most available, in fact, they were available to come out a few hours later. I learned my lesson that you should never go with the cheapest and most available- you get what you pay for. I let the technician complete all the locks, thinking he was doing a good job. Upon looking at the locks door, I noticed that he made a huge cut out of weather stripping and the lock was at an angle so the front door no longer closed tightly, leaving a gap for air to come in. When I pointed it out, there was no way to repair the weather stripping, and they did not want to replace it. On another lock the technician used a pick to gauge out the wood and cut the metal door. It left sharp metal edges and unprofessional gauge marks in the door. It could also not be fixed. He tried to file it down, when I asked. Another door was the worst. The technician had called his boss a couple of times to ask a question (this should have been a clue!) He cut a hole in the door at an angle so the front and back hole were not at the same location. The result was a deadbolt did not sit flush on the door on either side. Part of the whole was exposed on the inside of the door, so he installed a gold metal ring to cover the door. It was ugly. When he added the strike plate on the opposing door, he broke the plastic door edging and left sharp uneven edges. The door did not close tightly. It was very very late when the technician left. I called the company a few days later to see if they could send somebody out to fix it. The owner kept arguing with me about the issues. I kept insisting that it was because of poor installation skills. They finally sent somebody to fix part of the problem, but there was nothing that they were willing to do about the gauges in the weather stripping, door gashes, and plastic door components. I have since replaced the locks again to correct the problems that they created. The second company could not believe the terrible job that this company did. I would not waste my monry on this company.

Description of Work: They gave a window and the service provider gave a call 30-40 minutes before arrival so I knew when he would be here. This started as a $69 Angie's List Deal to tune-up my home's garage door and lubricate it. He did that plus, for no extra charge, set-up my car to open the garage door and re-set distances on my clickers. He made a couple optional service recommendations. For an additional $75, he installed two indoor key-lock door knobs that I had not yet installed. He called to give me a 30-40 minute heads up. The prices were set before he did the work. He was professional. He went beyond what he had to do and was timely and efficient. I am glad that he did the door knobs rather than me as one required some adjusting. It saved me a headache! He also looked at the broken lock on my file cabinet and advised it could not be replaced but an external lock could be added. I would recommend this service to my neighbors.
