John McDermot came out to our house to give us a quote on replacing our broken furnace. We told him that we had no hot water so it would be great to get a quote as soon as possible. He spent no time looking at the house or our furnace. He said he would get a quote back to us by Friday or the next Monday at the latest. We never heard back from him. We left a voicemail on that Monday but still heard nothing back. We obviously went with another company that actually cared about getting us a new furnace.

I've know Harp for years They're good folks and Kevin does a phenomenal job. They show when they say they will. They have a lot of integrity, they do good work, and stand behind it.

I called to make reservation. Promptly received appointment for air conditioning service and informed heating maintenance needs to be rescheduled when a qualified person is available. I received follow up calls to see if change of schedule was possible, then confirmed for original date and time. Service man arrived on time. Presented himself well. Performed diagnostics and explained options, from 'radical' upgrade service to minimal service. According to serviceman, there is no way of telling how long a recharge will last or if it lost it's coolant due to line failure without adding a dye into the system, monitoring for leakage, then repairing and recharging. An expense that was 4 times as much as a recharge only. I chose the minimum option hoping it will last thru the summer heat. The service work was completed within 20 minutes. After nearly 4 weeks and some of the hotest weather we've had in a long time, the AC is still holding the charge. This was a very good experience and I will have no doubts about contacting HARP for furnace maintenance this fall.

The technician (Mike) arrived exactly on time and after I described the issue he was able to quickly pinpoint the cause of the problem with the AC condenser and fix it. The technician did quality work. He did a great job in explaining the problem and what needed to be done and he showed me exactly what the issue was and what part needed to be replaced and why. The service was very quick and very professional and I was extremely happy with the results. Based on this first time experience with Harp, I would feel comfortable in using them again in the future for any other AC or Heating service and would highly recommend them.

The owner advised on the appropriate furnace for our square footage and ensured our existing chimney liner met code. We were without heat for a few days with infants in the house (because they had to shut off our furnace since it was a health hazard) so they scrambled to install a heater as fast as possible. Thankfully, the days were warm enough without the heat- though we used a space heater when necessary. The owner was so personable and responsive!

Our was build in 1954, it is a old building with faulty heating and cooling system. we wnted our A/C replace so the only people that came to our mind was Harp mechanical services, Harp mechanical services have twelves years of work experience. we could not risk with some new provider on the map. yeah that is how we zeroed on Harp mechanical engineering services. they did a great work and we hope to use them in the future.

They gave $10 off for my being a member of Angie's List. This was a wonderful experience. The guys were great. They explained everything and showed me how to change the heating settings. They also made maintenance suggestions. They were very good to me.

The repairman arrived on time, evaluated the AC system, repaired the filter and coil, and completed service of the unit. He explained what needed to be done, did it, and was very professional.

The install went well and my system is working very well. My biggest issue with the old system was inconsistant cooling: my living room/dining room/kitchen would be 70, the thermostat said 75 and the master bedroom was 85. Now if the thermostat says 75 every room on the house is 75. The installers (there were 4) arrived on time, set up protection for all my floors, worked steadily and seemed to work well as a team. When done, they cleaned up everything (even the extra dog fur on the stairs). They had to replace the condenser (including new pad & wiring), new air handler (including bring the installion up to code), all new piping & drainage, as well as install new ductwork to the master bedroom and additional insulation on the ceiling air intake. In all they spent almost 10 hours in very hot, dusty conditions and remained very courteous and polite. I was actually very concerned because it was so hot itn the attic but I was assured they knew exactly when to "come out of the heat". I will use HARP to do an annual service checkk on the cental AC.

I am new to Angie's List, but I have been using HARP Mechanical for many years for both my annual A/C tune up and annual furnace tune up. My last dates of service were 5/31/12 for the A/C and 1/5/12 for the furnace. I usually get the same technician (Rich) and even ask for him now if he is available. All the technicians are prompt, courteous and professional. They point out any incidental repairs that may be needed and make sure I understand why they are needed before performing them. They make sure to use boot covers when entering and they leave the work area very clean. This description applies to my first , last and all the other appointments in between. They are very consistent. I will continue to use HARP and would highly recommend them.

Water heater started leaking on Sunday. On Monday, I called H.A.R.P. Quoted right over the phone & arranged installation for Thursday. 4 day turnaround is great in my opinion. The two guys who showed up to do the work did a professional & conscientious job and were a pleasure to work with. Entire service went very well. They even replaced a faulty shut off valve as part of the job.

Called HARP on Friday 4/6, who my wife and I have used in the past, to obtain a quote on a furnace in a home we had just purchased. During the previous owners cleaning of the furnace it was found that the heat exchanger in the old furnace had cracked and was un-safe for use. Spoke with the sales rep and gave us a rough estimate to have the entire HVAC system replaced and setup a time to come out and take a look on 04/10. They came out measured and said what we were looking to do was not a problem, provided us with a better than expected quote which we accepted and he setup an installation date of 04/20. On 04/20 HARP mechanical crew and electrician (5-8 people) showed up on time within the window provided. The crew made every efforts possible to meet our wishes to have the vents installed behind/side of the house away from plain view. Despite some early doubts the crew was able to meet the request with minimal cutting to the basement ceiling. The crew worked pretty much non-stop through out the day (appx. 9 hours) taking the occasional break. All of the crew members were extremely respectful of our home and made certain to keep it clean as possible. Every member of the crew was very nice and engaged us in casual conversation and kept us informed of their progress. Upon completion the crew showed us their work, explained how the system worked and how to maintain it. As was expected, we were very pleased with every aspect of HARP's service from the initial call to the time we wrote the check and will definitely being using their services again.

HARP employees were very prompt and just the nicest guys. The put booties on over their boots when they came in the house. They vacummed at the end of the day. They took all the packing material with them for disposal. They explained what they were going to do and did a walk thru to point out exactly where vents would go. They discussed positioning duct work through the closets before putting it in to ensure that the placement worked for us. They were here for 3 days and I was able to do my job (systems consultant) and take conference calls without interference. If there was going to be a lot of noise I was forwarned! The experience with HARP was great. When we put in a new furnace I know we'll be calling them!

I found them through Angie's List after looking for other people's recommendations. I was using them for the first time. They responded in a timely manner. They were very conscientious about fixing the problem and keeping the house clean while they did that. I was completely satisfied with their service. I will be staying with them for my heating and cooling service. I will be getting a contract with them. I won't be using other providers.

I was very satisfied and they did a nice job. The unit they provided is of a different make which is a little noisy than the previous one. They put an American Standard furnace, but that is what they had. I hope they did justice and it is reliable like the previous unit. I found it a little difficult to deal with people authorized by them. The sales person was wonderful. Terry, I believe was his name and he sent a very good crew to remove the old furnace and put in a new one. They seem to have done a very nice job and left the place neat and clean. If I need anything or require maintenance of the existing unit, I would probably go through them as they are very good in taking care of their customers from my experience so far. I haven’t done much comparison about the price. Their responsiveness is excellent and I will use them again in the future.

They are very professional and very honest. The technicians are very good. The service is very good. The pricing is very reasonable.

Furnace did not properly work, so I called HARP. They showed up on the same day, without any extra charge for the fast service. The technitian was knowledgable, gave us lots and lots of info, and realistically assessed the condition of the furnace. He did not pressure us on anything, and did not make the situation of the 27 yrs old furnace any alarming like some other companies had done. The only slight drawback was the fact that he charged us $70 on top of the diagnostic fee for lighting up the pilot in under 1 min, but the only the info that he gave us was worth the money. Very satisfied.

HARP was a good company to work with. Positives; (Installers left no mess, were hard working and conscience of property, good quality equipment, price and back office support) Negatives: ( responsiveness and communication lacked regarding some small follow-up issues to finish the job). Salesperson and Subcontractors like electrician and home repairman has shown to be very slow to respond.

I’ve had good services from them. They were excellent. I was worried as it was a new furnace and they reassured me that I had another 10 years on my furnace. They were very understanding and helpful. As a matter of fact, the amount that I spent was probably a little bit less than $600. One person said that he had to order the part and I to pay for having it, but the other guy just had one on his truck and he didn’t charge me the extra or whatever it was so it was close to $550 or a little less than that. They were wonderful. They were very, very thorough and quick. They took care of things relatively quickly. They did what they could do to make it fast. I would recommend them. I don’t feel that they overcharged, considering I don’t know what I’m talking about. I would use them again without any question. My experience has taught me that it needs more than one person to go a very long way towards a good indicator of service and quality.

From start to finish - every interaction with the professionals at H.A.R.P. Mechanical was professional, considerate and completely above and beyond any expectation! Due to the timing of our project, it was impossible for us to contract with H.A.R.P. Even in that situation, Paul took an incredible amount of time and care to assure that we understood every aspect of the project at hand, and had the information necessary to make an informed decision. I cannot say enough about their level of expertise, and willingness to assist. I would highly recommend H.A.R.P. to any potential customers.

We did not actually buy the systems from them. But they do the maintenance. They are incredibly efficient and very conscientious about walking into the home. They use the blue bootees on when they come into the house. They are very polite. They hang around long enough if you have any questions. They are not in a rush. I am very pleased with them. After using them for so many years we have decided to go under a plan with them. We will continue to use them in the future.

Paul was terrific - well informed, honest, and very helpful. He gave me information to help me decide on the best option for me. Even though I didn't hire them (they didn't do the work I decided on) he was generous with his knowledge, friendly and patient in explaining how things work. Excellent company!

They came out quickly and gave us a quote, within a couple weeks it was installed, they were very reliable and we had excellent service.

He offered me the option to wait until normal business hours to save me moeny adn was extremely prompt in arrival. He was very friendly.
