Pro Painters

Very good experience. The painters took only two weeks to do all the work. Our house is nearly 200years old and some of the exterior is a real challenge. Every day during the project members of the work crew showed up early in the morning and put in productive work hours. Each day before the left they cleaned up the work site.

They were professional, completed the work in a timely manner and overall did a great job! Their price came in at a very affordable, competitive price, but the job was completed with high quality. We would absolutely recommend Pro Painters to our neighbors and friends. Great job!

We stripped the wallpaper and scrubbed walls and woodwork prior to painting. We bought all primer, paint, and plaster. Charges were for labor only. Specific guidance about what products were recommended was more forthcoming from the paint store than the pros employed to do the job. Although we paid extra for primer coat on plaster walls (old house), magic marker scribbles were visible through coats of grey primer and dark red. We were not told to remove all switch plates, etc. from the walls prior to painting, and some of the marble specialty switch plates were not removed by the pros. Now they are edged with paint that cannot be removed without damaging the polished finish of the marble. They did a great job on the stair risers and banisters as well as french doors to the dining room and living room. There were several [7] six panel doors since it was a hallway job, which we understood affected the cost (about double the cost of the deal). I verified that the cost of the job was reasonable for the work that was done. The debris from sanding etc. was left for us to clean up. Overall, left a bad taste in our mouths.

My wife and myself hired Pro Painters to paint the exterior of our house. They arrived promptly and gave us a very fair estimate on the work that needed to be done. Jacob showed up with his crew and finished the work in three days. The work was professional and neat. Jacob and his crew were also very pleasant to speak with and easy to work with. We were so impressed that we asked him to give us a quote on 3 interior rooms and the main hallway of our home. Jacob and his crew went above the required work and made the living area of our home look like we had just purchased and moved into a brand new home. I would definitely hire them again to do any additional work and would highly recommend him to anyone who needed painting done both exterior and interior.

It was fine, it was just more expensive than I expected it would be. They said they will do 2 rooms for this price and I guess I expected the extra to be part of that. They didn't me upfront that it's going to be extra for all those things. If I'm going to use them in the future, I have to get a specific quote ahead of time.

We needed the work done within a week after our initial inquiry due to our travel schedule. They responded to the inquiry promptly and showed up the next day to provide us the estimate. Their estimate was competitive with the other two. After reading all the Angie's list reviews and a phone call to their customer they were doing the job at that time, we decided to use them. They completed the work timely as they had promised. The walls look very beautifully after they fixed some issues we had raised. My experience is that they work hard to bring satisfactions to the customers. If the customer has different views on how the end results should be, they will do their best to meet lithe need. One point to add is that if i had known better, i would have asked them to cover the furniture and do a better cleaning afterwards. The crew members are very courteous and responsive.

Prompt response to initial call. I was able to schedule an appointment when I needed them. They provided me with a full description of work to be done that I could in turn send to my building management. They were also insured which was required of my building. At the job site, they arrived on time and had a professional appearance. The work was preformed professionally and left no mess.

They were great. They worked with my schedule, were prompt, clean and efficient. Most importantly, they did a great job. They had to do a lot of baseboards and edging, which look superb! I have hired them to do the exterior of the house and will post an update for that, but so far I have to give two thumbs up and 5 stars.

Jacob and crew did a great job of painting the exterior of our house in Simsbury. Prior to painting, they thoroughly power washed the outside to remove dirt and mold, then they sanded and primed all bare areas. They also prepped the house by replacing damaged wood trim or shingles prior to painting. They removed vinyl shutters in order to paint the house behind them, then reinstalled the shutters after painting was completed. In addition, Pro Painters stained my deck and did a superior job. They also power washed the surface thoroughly prior to staining. The quality of the work was top notch and at the end of each workday the site was left immaculate. I was very happy with the finished product.

Yaguv and his helper power washed my deck and house. They arrived on time and spent the entire day on the job. The deck was in particularly bad shape, but now looks great. I was concerned about the water usage as I have a well. We did continuing checks on the water pressure and so far things seemed to have worked out. I plan to have them back to stain the deck

I had several estimates and Pro Painters gave me the best price. They were punctual both for the estimate and the job. Jacob was courteous, prompt and professional. I was always able to call them and get a call back shortly thereafter( if they did not personally answer the phone.) Jacob also listened to exactly what I wanted and definitely came through. I asked him to match the stain on the French doors to the rest of the kitchen and it is a perfect match. They did a beautiful job and I am so happy to come home!! I would not hesitate to have Jacob do any jobs for me in the future. I have his business card safely stored should I ever need Pro Painters in the future!! I would highly recommend Pro Painters.

Short story: This painter will lure you in with an enticing inexpensive price and then raise the price at every opportunity, claiming ?oh, this is extra.? He will also try to use cheaper paint than agreed to. The quality of the work is not professional. He will also STEAL your deposit and not finish the job. He will then ignore your phone calls and tell you to ?hire a lawyer.? He does not adhere to signed contracts. The details: We wanted the entire interior of our home painted (2400 sq ft plus basement). We spoke to this painter over the phone and described the nature of the job and a "quote" of 5 thousand" was given to us. The painter came to the house to look around and all of a sudden he changed his price to 7 thousand. I did a little bargaining and got him down to 6,600. He signed a contract to paint the entire interior, including removing wall paper in 3 rooms, painting all trim, ceiling and doors. (Although this price was significantly higher than her promised over the phone, we decided to move forward). He took a 3,000 deposit in cash. When he started the job, he called me and said that to paint the closet shelving and the baseboard heating batteries would cost extra. Although I didn't believe this was fair, I just told him not to paint those areas. He removed wall paper and painted the bedrooms and bathrooms on the second the floor, excluding the hallways (only 800 sq. ft). Upon inspection, I found (by looking at the paint buckets) that he used cheaper paint than was in our contract. I specified in the contract that I wanted "kitchen and bath" acrylic paint in the kitchen and bathrooms and he did not use this paint. When I asked him about this, he totally denied it. Then his story changed to "Benjamin Moore must have made a mistake." He promised to paint over the bathrooms with the proper paint. The quality of the work was mediocre. There was paint on the tile around the bathtub (shouldn't be there). He did not paint over the electrical outlets and left them in the old paint color. When it was time to complete the job, he claimed that he didn't realize that we had crown molding on the first floor and the job would cost an extra 1000 to finish. When I told him that this is not true, (I told him about the crown molding ahead of time) and we have a signed contract, he told me he didn't care and he was leaving. He never finished the job. He took our 3 thousand dollars in cash and completed only about 25% of the work in a sloppy way. When my husband tired to call him he would not answer the phone. He has since disappeared with our money. Now I have to hire someone else to RE-DO the bathrooms that he did with the wrong paint- because otherwise the paint will peel and mold can form on the walls. I also have to hire someone else to finish the first floor and basement.

I called Jacob on Mother's day, amazingly he answered and arrived that same day for an estimate. His team arrived the following day to start the job and completed it in 2.5 days. Very thorough and professional. Competitive pricing and willing to negotiate.

Purchased a Groupon for discounted price. Painter arrived on time. Painted room with 2 coats of dark paint. Some color came through but was advised beforehand.

Jacob came over to determine the scope of the job and to provide an estimate. His estimate was very competitive. He and his helper showed up on time and worked until the job was complete. We reviewed the work daily, and he made all corrections that I requested, without complaining. He did not charge extra for making the corrections/adjustments that I requested. Note: the corrections that were required were due to the condition of the walls, not workmanship. I continue to use Jacob and his company at my 5 family home. I have already recommended him to a friend in the home rehab business. Jacob is a pleasure to deal with.

There were three issues that made this an unsatisfactory job. (1) Pro Painters used oil-based paint contrary to the written specifications and without our knowledge or permission, (2) they failed to adequately control dust from drywall compound, and (3) they had poor quality control. Unauthorized use of oil-based paint. The written contract specified Benjamin Moore latex primers and paints. Without our knowledge or permission, and contrary to the written contract, on February 26 Pro Painters applied an oil-based stain-blocker paint to the ceilings (about 1,500 square feet). The paint was a malodorous PP&G product that smelled like old-school ?Kilz.? The odor from the paint was unbearable for three weeks, unpleasant for the next three weeks, and noticeable for two weeks after that. We ventilated with open windows and an attic fan as much as possible, but the sub-freezing February temperatures here in Connecticut limited the amount time we could leave the house open. The smell was so bad we had to leave the house and stay in a motel for one night, and after that we slept with a bedroom window open with the attic fan on to drag fresh (but freezing) air across the bedroom just so we could sleep. We left for a previously planned vacation 10 days after the application, but because the house was closed the entire period, the smell did not dissipate. When we got back in mid-March, daytime temperatures were still cold but were above freezing, so we ventilated the house at least two hours every day with windows open and the attic fan running. As the days continue to warm, we increased ventilation, and by mid-April, the smell had gone from unpleasant to simply noticeable. We incurred great discomfort and significant expense (heating oil) because of the smell from the unauthorized application oil-based sealer paint. Dust. The dust control measures deployed by Pro Painters were inadequate. Not much dust came from the popcorn ceilings because Pro Painters applied water to the popcorn before they removed it. But dust from the drywall compound applied to the ceiling and used for wall repairs spread throughout the house, and even got into closets in bedrooms that were not in their work area. Pro Painters wiped down easily accessible surfaces in the work area, but it took a professional cleaner two days to remove dust from the rest of the house and from the out-of-the way portions of Pro Painter?s work area. Quality Control. Because the work involved removing the popcorn from the ceilings, it was necessary to remove all of the ceiling-mounted lighting fixtures. In February in Connecticut, the days are short and the sun is low in the sky, so there is not a great deal of natural light inside the house. ProPainters did not bring any temporary lighting to the job. When the foreman told me the ceilings were ready for my final inspection, I couldn't see because of the poor light so I brought out my halogen work lights. The ceilings looked just like you would expect for work that was done in poor light - the drywall compound on the ceiling was irregular and the paint was uneven. For the next two days ProPainters used my lights to support their work. At the end of the job it was necessary for me to point out dozens of areas where Pro Painters and failed to make the drywall repairs specified in the written contract. The entire last day of the job consisted of me pointing out places Pro-Painters had simply painted over nails or screws had to be reset and patched. If I hadn?t pointed out the areas where the drywall needed repairs, more than half of the areas requiring repairs would have been missed. Pro Painters was not capable of meeting the requirements of the contract without me performing a quality control function that is properly the responsibility of their foreman. There are still some drywall repairs that need to be done, and Pro Painters has offered to come back and do them. But their dust control practices are so bad that I'm afraid to let them back in my house, so I'll do the final repairs myself.

Pro painters was very professional and neat. They primed and painted 3 rooms in only 2 days. Will use them again in the future.

Everything was on time from the first review of the damage, the estimate that was accepted by the insurance company and yours truly. The actual person that did the work showed up on time worked diligently and performed in an outstanding professional manner over a four (4) day period. He then cleaned up after his activities leaving us with minimal work to get everything back in place.

Pro Painters were really good. They did an excellent job. They were very professional, very nice and they came out like they promised. Everything was done and they were very punctual. They were very good overall. They're really very good listeners and they go with our pace. They're not pressuring and they're nice people.

Jacob and his team interior painted our recently purchased house. At all times Jacob was punctual, professional and his team did a high quality job within a tight timeframe. Jacob assisted me in choosing the correct colour, did a fantastic job at patching/priming and took into account any small requests I made (e.g. I wanted our door painted a high gloss red as well). I could not have been happier with the work he did - especially considering the very reasonable price he quoted. I have just booked Jacob in to re-paint our kitchen cabinets and will use him for any further work we require. I highly recommend his services.

They did a great job at both locations. They showed up when they were supposed to, it was a professional job and the price was competitive. We will be using them again in the future.

Pro Painters did a great job painting the interior of my entire 2600 sq. ft. townhouse condo - walls, ceilings and trim. In addition, I had them remove large mirror sections from a wall and paint it. They responded in a timely manner to my initial contact. The work was done in a timely manner with great attention to detail. They were professional and cleaned up meticulously after painting each room. I highly recommend them.

Terrible - they called me right after I purchased the coupon & tried to pressure me into doing the job immediately - I explained I was not planning to have the room painted for several months and I would call - They never picked up or returned my calls
