Pro Painters

There were 2 main services that Jacob offered, one was carpentry and one was painting. I'll go into detail about both. First, contact was done via Angie's List and since there were so many dazzlingly positive reviews, we decided to get an estimate. Jacob was always very responsive and came out on a weekend to give an estimate. We walked him around the house, pointing out all the boards and areas that needed to be replaced, along with our desire to have the entire exterior painted. He nodded and agreed with us, gave every assurance that they were experienced with carpentry and could do all of the work, "no problem." We pointed out that we had many rotten boards around our electric meter that would need some coordination with the electric company to repair (the meter would have to be removed). He said "no problem." We specifically asked if he had done that before and he said, "yes." We trusted that he knew what he was doing. The initial work was delayed a couple of weeks because of heavy rain and they got backed up on their workload. No problem, we waited. When they finally came out to do the carpentry, that's when the problems started. I came home from work to find the entire house with the first coat of paint. Only problem - so many boards were not replaced or repaired AT ALL, they were just painted over! Also, all of the nails and screws they promised to remove and fill the holes for, were still there, just painted over. I did a walk around of the house - almost NONE of the boards we requested to be replaced had been replaced. In some places, the window trim was cut and patched in a way that water would leak right into the seams. We also noticed that NONE of the boards near the meter had been touched, except to paint over them. They were very squishy and obviously rotted and it was part of the estimate that they be replaced. We immediately contacted Jacob about all of these items, and he started arguing with us about the work! He claimed boards had been replaced when they had not been and started claiming ignorance about the boards near the meter, saying that was our problem, they can't touch them, etc. Eventually he did agree to replace the boards and remove the nails, after much raised voices. He came back and did replace rotted boards on the house (besides the meter) and remove the nails and patched. The quality of the carpentry was not good, but at that point, we wanted the job done and didn't want to argue. We also found out that we had to hire an emergency electrician to come out and remove the meter from the house so that Pro Painters could fix the rotted boards in that area. Pro Painters did come out on a weekend to do the work , but complained they had to buy a tool specifically to cut the boards to make them fit behind the meter. This was after they had said "no problem!" in the estimate. Not a happy customer!! Also, the electrician cost us an additional $265. There is also still a board with a hole in it on that side of the house that we are going to have to replace ourselves. We just wanted this whole thing to be done with. The painting itself was fine. There are still a bunch of nail holes that were filled, but never sanded properly and primed so the sanding filler shows through the paint in that area. It is the trim color and is lighter colored. It is not a huge deal, but we see this from our couch so it's an annoying thing to look at half finished trim every day. Another thing we will have to fix ourselves. We also found all of the paint colors ourselves. Anyway, it was a lot of money to spend to have the experience we had. If you are at all interested in carpentry before painting, do yourself a favor and hire a real carpenter and if you must, hire these guys to do painting only.

Jacob was a pleasure to deal with. The whole crew was personable and professional. They got to to work right away and did a great job with no muss or fuss. They used good quality paint and I expect the job will last. I highly recommend Pro Painters and I am going to call them later this year for inside painting as well.

The guys did all the extras to make sure they had satisfied customers. They made suggestions to improve the project and did the whole project for the original price quote.

Awesome job by this contractor. They were timely, courteous, had exceptional attention to detail and left the worksite neat every day prior to departure. They handled many extras that were not in scope for the job including encounters with wildlife which they handled very very humanely. The job took 6 days to complete with the only delay due to weather. Would definitely recommend them and would use them again. Job well done!

Yagup and his crew arrived early every day and worked straight through. They were careful with our furniture, very polite and very neat. They gave me an estimate 9 months before they were to start the job, when we were delayed, they worked with our time frame. They brought in extra crew to get the job done on our schedule. I asked that they leave me paint and they also did that. We have worked with other wallpaper people and painters over the years but Pro Painters was the most thorough and professional and I highly recommend them. Finally, I thought their price was extremely fair, even cheap for all the work they did.

Our home needed extensive scraping and carpentry to replace soft wood, and they did a thorough job. Very nice guys who did a great job.

Pro Painters were very kind and responsive - did a great job - were very willing to come back at a moment's notice and make sure the job got done properly. Highly recommend!

Price was very good including paint. Response was excellent for quote and the work. Estimated 3 to 5 days and completed in 3 (consecutive). A few areas of trim were a little sloppy and I was surprise later when moving the center island the trim paint stop on either side of the island. Also the refrigerator was not moved just painted around.

Yagup came over on a Sunday morning to give an estimate. He was the higher of the three quotes but after sitting down with him we decided to go with him. He was very professional, listened to our needs and came across as a perfectionist and hard worker. He came and power washed the house but due this crazy weather couldn't come back for over a week. When they did return they covered the windows as you would expect and covered around the base of the house and first floor roof when they painted. They sprayed the first coat on and brushed the second coat. Again with this rainy/cloudy weather and my work schedule, I couldn't see the final product in the sun until three days later. I mentioned there needed to be some touch ups around the house which he came over the following day and made it right without attitude or question. We live on a cul de sac and have EVERY neighbor stop and say what a great job they did and they loved the color. We are very happy with the house and would definitely use them again!

Everything ran very smoothly. Jacob and his guys showed up on time every day. They did all the work as requested. They cleaned up after themselves and the finished results were great.

They did an excellent job. Responded very quickly to my request for a quote. Then started and completed the job within 5 days. The house and deck look great and I'm thrilled to have my deck ready for summer entertaining.

Pro Painters was very responsive in providing us with painting services for our deck rails and stringers as well as staining our mahogany deck, stairs and side porch. They were very meticulous, professional and did a high-quality job. They were prompt and fit us into their schedule so that we could get the job done. I will definitely call them again for any future exterior or interior painting job.

Pro Painters did a beautiful job for me today with interior painting of a combo livingroom,dining room and kitchen. Jacob and his team were very pleasant and accommodating to my needs. They put all the furniture and blinds back and the clean up was great! I would hire them again in the future now that I see their professionalism and the price was the best that I was quoted. Could not be more pleased with the experience. I first contacted Pro Painters through Angie's List on a Friday morning. Jacob came by that afternoon for an estimate and the work was done by lunch time on Monday (three days later). The price was fair, the quality excellent and Jacob is a fine person. We will be using Pro Painters again and have already recommended him to our friends!

Overall, it was a good experience. However, we no longer need the service.

Three Pro Painter employees, which included the owner Jacob, painted the entire main floor of our condo. This included one ceiling (included repair of ceiling), crown moldings, walls, all trim, stair runners and spindles. Consisted of dining room, kitchen, breakfast nook, living room, hall area, master bedroom and master bath. Also included seven doors. They spent most of first day (total of 3.5 days) preparing surfaces for painting. Taking down drapes, wall plates, fixing nail holes, conner repairs, wall discrepancies, etc. We cannot put into words the quality, professionalism, and enthusiasm they brought to this job. Their quote was actually the highest of five quotes we received (quotes were all very close), but, Jacob brought with him such passion in his pitch that we were able to negotiate the correct price while still the highest, they used the highest quality paint available and their work was done to profection. We were amazed. I have been a business man my working career and I have always known that it the value you bring not the price that makes the customer happy. By now you can tell that no other painting company will ever work in or on our home. Thank you Angie's List for having your service available, we would never have found them.

They arrived on time. They applied primer on first day, then returned next day to finish their work. They were friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to use their service again.

We couldn't have been happier with the work by Jacob and his team. He was extremely responsive leading up to the painting itself, and very receptive to our concerns about painting around some of the unique features of an old house. We had a pretty short ramp to get the work done before we moved in, and he worked with us to meet a very tight deadline. The work itself was very well done, the team was tidy and efficient, and the pricing was extremely competitive. We plan to use Pro Painters in the future...

Jacob and his crew were terrific. Very polite, professional and neat. I have a large home with open floor plan, lots of woodwork and ceilings damaged by water damage due to storms. Jacob and his guys were great, fast and made it very easy for me. The paint job is great. Looks beautiful. Plan on having them back to do the upstairs this winter. Price was not cheapest but given service, it was reasonable. Highly recommend.

After contacting Pro-Painters, they provided me with two estimates for the work as requested. I only spoke with Jason on the phone. He was professional and straight forward. He met with my project site manager who liked him. I needed the house painted before winter set in and the house windows and trim looked awful. The house is a 100 year old single family structure, but three floors, making it "very high" for those who don't like heights to begin with. The previous owner didn't finish painting the whole house - leaving the upper parts and trim undone. Although I thought to price was on the high side, Pro-Painters were generally highly recommended on Angie's List and they were close by. Pro-Painters got the job. I must say, I was reserved about the quality of work to be done when it comes to trim and lattice work. The amount of scrapping that needed to be done to make it look right was discouraging. Pro Painters exceeded my expectations with the quality of the job and the attention to detail with all the trim, and it was all done in a matter of a few days - not weeks. When I first saw the house after they had finished the work, I was amazed at how the house just "popped" out because of the new paint job and especially the trim! The wrap -around enclosed porch has many windows and lots of white trim. I couldn't find any trim that was missed. I was thrilled with the outcome! It was worth every penny. I will definitely be calling upon Pro Painters for future jobs. Maybe I'll get to meet Jason and his crew in person sometime!

Pro Painters responded quickly to my request for an estimate, gave me a fair price and painted the exterior of my home beautifully and with great attention to detail. They also painted our gutters, cellar door and a back door. My only regret is not hiring them to do our deck too, which looks even worse now because of the great job they did on the rest of the house. They were good, professional guys (Shawn and another gentleman) and I would not hesitate to hire them for future projects.
