After 2 years of waiting for the pool to be installed and dealing with unprofessional behavior, we filed complaints with the Consumer Protection and Attorney General's office which did nothing. We finally sued him in small claims court in 2011 to recoup some of the money we spent and won in 2012. It was during this process that we found out that he has been sued numerous times which is available on the state's website. We hired another company to install the pool.
Description of Work: We hired Diamond Pools to purchase and install a fiberglass pool in 2009. Although we agreed upon a final cost of the entire project, he kept adding costs with every converstation. Over a period of 2 years, (the pool never got installed by him eventhough a scratched pool shell was finally delivered after a year and sat in the backyard upside down for another year), we fired him because he wanted 95% of the money before he began the installation. He had a way of confusing the actually costs by using complicated contracts for each aspect of the installation as well as charging seperately for the use of his machines. Thus, the final costs were at least double what he quoted initially. He also misrepresented the quality/condition of the pool shell we bought.

If anyone uses Diamond Pool services, they need to really read the contract and listen to what he is saying. He kept saying oh ya we can to that, oh ya we will do that, but he did not say in addition that will cost another $10,000. Our price almost tripled in what he quoted us. Everything he did he kept adding on and adding on and adding on more money and at one point, he even charged me for an enormous amount of salt put in our filter, I think he need five bags a year and the electrician found the error and so I stopped payment on one of the installments that I gave to him just to straighten that out first because it came to quite a bit of money, I think it was $830. He then turned around and started whipping off those to me in my e-mail. You know things that he had said were taken care of and we were going to sign off and everything was going to be done, but he wrote me an e-mail and said, I do not know if you got the bills or not, but I left them on your stoop, which is absolutely ridiculous and he had us pay another $6000 or $7000. It was just one thing after another. It is a terrible service and anybody that I speak to, I let them know if they are looking at a pool not to use him and he had us kind of held hostage because if there is anything wrong with the paperwork to our pool, we need to go through him, so you know we had to pay it. He came in and opened the pool for us in 2007 because we do not know how to do it. Overall, I spent $60,000 and he quoted us $20,000 for the pool. He said he was going to put it in July and he did not even put it in September. He made us wait a whole summer. I would never use him again in the future.
