Don Morrison responded promptly to my request for a quote and was professional and thorough with his inspection. The quote was well within my expectations based on experience with others who have had similar services provided. The installation happened when he said it would happen and was done in one day. The installation was completed in a professional manner and looks like a quality job. The post-installation test for radon was well below required levels. We've had no problems with the system since installation. Would definitely recommend Don's services.
Description of Work: Performed radon testing and installed a suction port active soil depressurization radon abatement system in our basement. Essentially drilled a hole in the basement, installed pvc pipe from the hole through the wall outside to a constantly running air pump to additional pvc pipe all the way up the outside of the house to above the roof.

All went well...the company was on time, did a timely, professional installation, and retested for radon levels afterwards. It was easy to schedule their appt., too.

The installation required drilling a small hole in cement floor to make contact with a underground pipe leading into the sump pump. The 1st hole did not connect; a 2nd hole made the connect. Both holes were neatly cemented and the radon extraction pipe carried through the foundation wall where a high velocity fan was installed. They also cleaned up after the work was done. They also moved some items in the basement in order to set up the radon system.
Description of Work: I have an unusual house with half dirt crawl space and half cement floor - difficult for radon remediation. Don, the owner of DMI, recommended an initial installation in the cement floor area which brought radon levels down to 1.1 parts, well under the state standard of 3.9 parts. My own initial radon test, done in Febr. '12, prior to the installation, showed radon at 4 times the acceptable level. Don answered all my questions patiently both before, during & after the installation. Was courteous, prompt, diligent, very professional. The original estimate suggested that a stronger fan might have to be installed; This was actually done as the pipe to the sump was not laid in stone but packed dirt.

Good work, good price, nice to work with.
Description of Work: We purchased our home in Madison, CT and had a Radon test done as part of the inspection with test results indicating no problem in the home. Five years later, we performed a retest and found very high levels of Radon in the air which indicated that the original test had been tampered with, most likely, or not properly done, least likely. We used a local company to install a sub-slab ventilation fan to remediate the airborne Radon. A full test of the water showed that the Radon levels in the water were also very high. Accu-systems quoted on a system that two other companies also quoted and they were the least expensive with the fastest turn time to install the system. Testing after installation confirmed that the system is performing well and we have been able to discontinue using a secondary systemt to raise the PH of the water because the Radon removal process also neutralizes the water. Accu-systems provided the electrician to power the system and was in-and-out of our house the same day.
