Called them half dozen times and never got a person. I had to leave a voicemail and they usually call back the next day. Called them last November to winterize the sprinkler system; they came two days later and supposedly did their work. Now spring is here and my husband went to turn on the sprinkler and found the ball valve was cracked. The house has been vacant during this time and no one has been to the basement. I called up the company about the issue; their response was they did whatever they do everywhere else without issue so they didn't do anything wrong. Then they quoted me $70 to repair it without discount.

Response from GREENLIFE LAWN SPRINKLER LLC
We were called by the member to winterize their sprinkler system on Nov 11, 2015. We provided that service on Nov 13, 2015. The way it is done is to turn the water valve to the sprinkler off in the basement then blow air from a large compressor through the backflow preventer and through the sprinkler system one zone at a time. When we left their house we turned the shut off valve to the back flow off and left boiler drain below that valve open. Common sense would dictate any water entering the pipe from the house whether by someone turning on the valve to the sprinkler or by the valve not holding water securely (we have no way of knowing because we can’t sit a 700 customers houses and make sure no one touches the valve all winter) This water would have drained out the boiler drain. Someone closed the boiler drain water got trapped between the basement and the valve we turned off at the backflow. The valve froze and split on the backflow. No intelligent person cold think from that scenario it could be properly winterized. But the way whoever installed the system did not pull a permit as required by Fairfield building dept. and the backflow is not code.
