Advance Plumbing & Heating Inc - Newington

I called them in the morning and they were here in the afternoon. We had a 20 year old water heater and it started leaking. It put out the pilot and was leaking. It wasn't flooded but there were large puddles all around. They came to give us a new mid-level 50 gallon hot water heater. I was very impressed with the installers. They were both very professional and they were in and out in, I want to say, an hour and a half, 2 at the most. My basement is cluttered with stuff. I had to find a path for them to get through and they just seemed to negotiate the whole thing without leaving a footprint. I thought that they did a real bang up job.

I liked that plumber from Advance Plumbing & Heating Inc- Newington was punctual, honest and was able to tell me what the problem was that I was questioning. I had a shower head that wasn't working also. He just charged me the standard charge for coming out here.

Mike was just great. He responded immediately when, for the first time in five years, we had water on the basement floor. He ruled out plumbing problems and instead of blindly knocking down walls as some others do, he carefully inspected the inside and outside of the house and the latest weather conditions, to come to the conclusion it was ground water. I will most certainly use Mike again in the future. So great to find an honest and diligent service.

He explained why he didn't recommend an under-the-sink filter and we accepted his recommendation for now.

I particularly liked the fact that they responded timely to my problem as the leak was ruining the ceiling to my downstairs bathroom which will need replacement. I called a couple other places prior to contacting Advance and they either put me in the cancel list and booked me for the next available date which was 4 days later or they recommended I call someone else because the plumber was out of town. I got a plumber in my house approximately 1.5 to 2 hours of my initial call which is quite excellent for my emergency. I thought the price may have been high for the job but the plumber was great at remembering to give me my $25 Angie's List member discount and he was very professional and assured me it was not a complete catastrophe. I just closed on this house 5 weeks ago so you can imagine how irritated I was to have these things blow up on me so early on. I will definitely use Advance again for other future jobs, emergencies etal.

The worker was very courteous. He explained everything he was doing. He put down a drop cloth before bringing in equipment to clear the clog. Cleaned up after his work. Made some recommendations. I need some additional work done and he agreed to come another time, a time of my choice, so the bill would not be too big all at once. Provided a quote for the future work. I feel the price charged was reasonable but to be honest I don't have anything to compare it to.

The person that came out was very curteous and professional. It was clear the level of experience the person had with dealing with the trouble at hand. He explained what was going on in detail showing me the troublespots, how it usually happens and what I can do to help prevent it in the future. He looked over everything and quoted me a price that was more than reasonable. It was actually cheaper than some other areas I looked at. After the job was done a few hours later (it was a large repair job in the wall and floor behind the bath tub) he cleaned up the area and to my surprise did a little bit more than was needed saying that since he was there and the part was dirthy, he might as well clean it and/or fix it if it was a small thing. This was done without any additional cost to me for which I was grateful. Not only was the repair fixed, it worked and looked better than it ever did to my memory. I highly recommend this company for any plumbing job. It was a very good experience working with them.

Super responsive and quick to arrive (within 30 min from me calling them). My issue is that they are super expensive as well. I requested a quote for three small tasks and it was 3x more expensive than the plumber that ended up with the job. If you have an emergency and cost is no concern then Advance would be a good option.

Everything went great. The plumber was puntual and thorough un his repairs. We've used the same plumbing company in the past and I'm very pleased with their work and professionalism.

We were thrilled. Prompt return of all phone calls. Sensitive to the fact we have only one full bath the work was scheduled for the next day and completed in that same day. They put additional plumbers on the job so we would have our shower back as soon as possible.

I would definitely recommend him. He is honest, and very good. He was very punctual calling me back.

When I called for an appointment I was given options. I was also told that I had to understand, well ahead of time, that a visit from a professional plumber is costly. While I fully expected some "sticker shock" I valued the quality of service and parts and ultimately the experience to be reasonable. I'd use them again. They have the correct tools and knowledge

Great I would recommend this company and Sal. They might not be the cheapest but they are dependable and do great work.

I first contacted Advance Plumbing the Friday before Easter due to hot water heater issues. Mike got back to me within 15 minutes of my initial call and spoke to me regarding the problems I was having. I emailed him pictures which he looked at and called me back to discuss next steps. They got me on their schedule for the following Monday and even offered to come out on Saturday but I was out of town. Chris arrived promptly Monday morning and spoke to me about the old water heater and we discussed the possibility of repair for that unit. Due to the age of the unit I decided that replacement was the better option and Chris completed the job within his estimated time and for a price that I felt was very reasonable. Joe has been my main man and he is great. He is very professional and does the job well. Will always recommend better parts but isn't pushy. And he will recommended future work that would be worthwhile to prevent problems.

The job was done on time and they were very neat and clean.

Toilet wouldn't stop filling with water and flooded the floor, and down to the basement. The plumber responded within 1-2 hours and was very professional and knew what the problem was right away. Can't judge how the price would compare to other plumbers (the cost included replacing the valve and flapper, so if you can do this yourself I'd recommend it), but I appreciated the fast, personable service.

They did a good job. They were very prompt. They got here when they said they were going to be here; it took them just as long as it was going to take them like he said. We got a discount from Angie’s List, and we were satisfied. Their price was fair, and they were very professional.

drainage was removed within a half hour service did an excellant clean up and were very professional.

I was able to get the water shut off - called plumber, they arrived 1 hour later (which was fine and prompt), fixed the line, replaced similar line and we were finished.

I found them on Angie s list They were a little slow to start,it was right after sandy storm, so I will take that I account Otherwise, it was a one stop shop and everything was satisfactory

I called Advance at 7:30 pm Saturday night fully expecting to get an answering service. What a pleasant surprise to wind up speaking with the owner himself, Mr. Mike Mancini. After listening to our situation and making sure that we weren't in dire straights, Mike said he would call us Sunday and set up an appointment for Monday a.m., between 10 and 11. These days, who arrives when they say they will? I'll tell you who: Advance. They were there promptly at 10. The old water heater was removed and the new one installed before I came home from work at noon, and I enjoyed a hot shower by 12:30! Also, Advance was $300 less than another quote I received. The discount did not compromise the quality! Thanks, Mr. Mancini, for restoring my faith in contractors. Thanks, Angie's List, for providing unbiased and trustworthy reviews, and saving me another $50 with your cupon!

We had been hearing some "bubbling" from one of our sinks and thought we had simply a minor pipe clog. Advance Plumbing came out and spent a good deal of time thoroughly investigating the situation, including snaking a mainline out to the street; they ultimately determined - accurately - that this was a problem requiring that MDC come out to dig in the street to remedy the situation, and they called MDC who promptly dug up the street and fixed the problem. Given the large chunk of time spent at the house by Advance Plumbing, and the difficult work done, I believe we were charged a very reasonable price.

I emailed the company for an estimate via their website. I was called within 24 hours by someone named Mike. He answered all of my questions, was polite, and gave an estimate of the work. the estimate was $1,000 for an installation of a 50 gal water heater and removal of the old. I scored them a D on price. This is a couple hundred higher than what should be expected in this area I believe and it was a couple hundred higher than the estimate I got from a licensed plumber (but who I didn't like). I am not sure how plumbers establish their standard rate because the estimate is given without any mention of the price of the water heater... But anyway, I was aware of what the average cost should be and I chose to go with this company anyway because of the positive ratings the company got on Angie's list. I wanted punctuality, professionalism, and quality and competency. And that is what I got. The installation began exactly on time! Jeff arrived and was polite, diligent, professional, and over all I felt completely good about having him work in my home. I received a call the following Monday (installation was on Fri) to check on whether I was satisfied with the work done. The work took approximately 2 hours. The 'extra' couple hundred bucks I spent was worth it- good work, professionalism, no hassles.
