The work was performed on the scheduled day and at the appointed hour. While attempting to flush the old anti-freeze from the system, some original system design issues resulted in the need to install a couple of additional valves. Nick had to spend a little more time than he had planned and required some parts that weren't in his original estimate....yet his final bill held to his original estimate.

Oil burner maintenance representative (Mercury Fuel Co.) noted several valves seeping during his annual routine maintenance call in December 2010. He stated that this generally occurs after five years of service in hydro-air systems due to the anti-freeze in that system. This house was built in 2004. They recommended we bring in our plumbing/heating guy to repair/replace the needed components and made a list of the parts involved for reference. I called the contractor who actually did the plumbing (but not heating) in our original construction in 2004, Nick Richards of Ultimate Plumbing and Heating. The original HV/AC contractor (Dom Izzi) is no longer in business. Nick came by briefly to check on the scope of the job and verify the list of parts/time needed for the job a week earlier. On the appointed morning, Nick arrived about 10 minutes early, and, despite several "curves" created by the rather novel system installation by the Izzi Co (necessitating the installation of an additional valve or two to facilitate flushing), completed the job in a couple hours. Nick also replaced the system anti-freeze with a newer product that shouldn't be as h****** components in the future. Nick still met the estimate.
