Luis turned up when he said he would. He went over the priorities of what I wanted painted in what order so I could get the most out of the time I had with him. I had to go to work so I left him and he locked up after he left. I went to check out the work later that evening and was very pleased with how much work was done and the quality of the work given the volume. I will definitely use Fernandez Painting again.

Excellent. He was right on time and finished the job within the 4 hours. Very neat and clean. Highly recommended.

We purchased 3 hours of drywall and/or painting services on 3/16/15. In our original purchase, I asked him to call/text me to schedule the service. He did not call. He did respond via emails through Angie's List and scheduled us for April 20th - a day that we were unavailable. When I called him to re-schedule, he seemed to be a bit pushy. He stated that he preferred to start his projects at 8am and would be available "the whole day" if needed (at an additional charge, of course!) and boasted about the high quality of his work. I told him that I was only interested in paying the $99 dollars for 3 hours. Per his recommendation, I texted him with 3 other dates in April that would work. He agreed to come on one of the dates I suggested, April 22nd. He contacted us approximately 1 week before this appointment to cancel and re-schedule - noting that he was still working on another large project. He rescheduled for May 21st, a date that would work for us. However, he cancelled our appointment THE DAY BEFORE -- after we had spent hours preparing the room (moving furniture, taking pictures off the walls, etc.). He wrote "It is not my fault" and noted that he had decided to re-schedule as we did not confirm this appointment. Given our previous conversation in which I told him which days of the week would work for us, I did not see the need to confirm as he selected a day-of-the-week that I told him would work with our schedule. When he canceled our May 21st appointment, he offered to re-schedule for late June 2015. We declined his offer as we do not wish to do business with him any longer. Overall, our interactions with him have been frustrating. He will give you an appointment for his services, but if you do not contact HIM to confirm and re-confirm, he will cancel your appointment and re-schedule without calling you. When he does contact you (usually via Angie's List email), he just gives you a appointment. He seems to expect that he can schedule his services at his convenience and puts the burden on the customer to re-schedule with him, rather than establishing rapport with his customers beforehand and mutually agreeing upon the nature and date of his services. Sometimes when you do call him to re-schedule, he says he can't do it because he is on-site on a project and does not have his schedule handy. I did not enjoy doing business with him. I was hoping to receive a refund for his services, but was told that Angie's List does *NOT* offer refunds after 30 days after purchase. Thankfully, Angie's List will credit our account so that we can apply the $99 we paid to Fernandez Painting to another Angie's List service.

I purchased the $99 special for 3 hours of labor and advised that I would be purchasing additional time to finish the work. Luis was on time and did the initial prep for the sheetrock repair, we agreed on a future date several days later. Luis ws on time and completed the job within a few hours. The quality of the sheetrock repair was excellent as was the painting. Luis and his helper were courteous and neat. I would highly recommend Luis; however, to address one of the previous reviews, it's important to clearly communicate and agree on the expectations when purchasing the $99 special. The purchaser is buying the time, not the materials. I supplied the paint, roller pads, roller, and plastic sheeting to cover the cabinets/furniture. Luis explained that he can and does supply materials for and additional charge; however, that's not part of the deal, so you need to be clear as to what you are purchasing.

Fernandez Painting was hired for a total of 11 hours of work. Two workmen came for 51/2 hours each. They wasted no time - the team worked quickly and efficiently to remove 2 wallpaper borders (one of which was vinyl and quite challenging) and then had time to tape and put a coat of paint on one of the rooms. Communications through Angie's List was easy - I received prompt and courteous replies to all of my questions. All-in-all, this was an excellent experience - I would recommend Fernandez Painting.

Repairs were done fast and Lois great. I highly recommend Luis.

We were contacted rather quickly to schedule our service after purchasing the $99 Angie's List deal. However, the initial scheduling date was changed when we were told Luis was completing another job that was time-sensitive. We rescheduled and two workers arrived promptly at the time agreed upon the day of service. However, when they arrived they asked my husband if he had purchased any chemicals with which to take the wallpaper down. Further, they didn't have a sprayer and asked to use ours. When I've used contractors in the past, including painters, they have always arrived with all the equipment they need for the job. I was disappointed this wasn't the case this time. I had informed Luis that we would like the have the room painted as well, and while this wasn't part of the deal we purchased, we would like him to quote us a price for the additional work. He agreed and said if he was in the area prior to the day they'd be performing the wallpaper removal, he would stop by and quote it then. If he wasn't, he said he would quote it the day of the wallpaper removal. Luis didn't provide a quote to my husband on the day of the wallpaper removal, and instead emailed me a quote two days later. The price for the quote was what we thought was fair. I emailed Luis back and asked him to let us know when he was available to do the work. He reached out to me on a Sunday night through Angie's List and said he would call me on Monday to schedule a time. By Wednesday, I still hadn't heard anything from him, so I emailed again. He responded and scheduled for the following Tuesday. However, on Thursday night, I received a phone call and a text message at 8:30pm asking me if they could come on Friday. I indicated that wouldn't work for us and we would like to go ahead with the originally scheduled date. Luis agreed. On Monday evening, around 6:30pm, I received an email through Angies List saying they had another job to finish and would be at our house at 4pm on Tuesday, instead of the originally agreed upon time of 8am. Again, this didn't work for us. I emailed Luis and told him that wouldn't work and we'd have to reach out to him at another time to schedule. Late Wednesday morning I received an email asking me if anyone would be "around" that afternoon for Luis to come and begin the work. Again, that didn't work for us and I found it very unprofessional that Fernandez Painting expected us to drop everything when they could "fit us in". Maybe our project wasn't big enough to be taken seriously by the company. If so, they should have indicated to us at the beginning that such a small project would have to be scheduled between larger, higher-priority projects, and they would call us when they could fit us in. This would have been much more professional than constantly scheduling and rescheduling our service times and contacting us at all hours of the day and night. One of the reviews I read on Angie's List when I decided to purchase the $99 deal was written by a professional home stager, who said Fernandez Painting was her "go-to" service provider for painting projects. Obviously her experience was far different than ours. I can't imagine a professional home stager would put up with being jerked around on times/dates in such a time-sensitive profession. Overall, it's been a very disappointing experience and I am leery of buying any more deals through Angie's List. Which is frustrating too, considering Angie's List is where I look first for contractors, etc. We won't be using Fernandez Painting in the future, nor will we be recommending them to anyone else.

Fernandez Painting (Luis Fernandez- owner) He did a wonderful job. I was very pleased & impressed with his work. It looked great when he finished, the room was clean as if no one every worked in that room. Luis was just great, he was professional, explained everything that he was going to do, he was polite, caring, and knew what had to be done & went right to work and did it. I would recommend Fernandez Painting to my family & friends, without a doubt a great company. I was very pleased with him and his company, and hope in the future that I can get him back to my home, to do other work that needs to be done. Folks don't let this one get by. He is a keeper!

I have used Luis Fernandez multiple times to paint my home as well as clients of mine. I am a professional home stager and frequently need to refer a painter. Luis is always on time, professional, gives good prices and is a professional in every way. His work is excellent and he is knowledgeable about complex issues regarding plaster repair, wallpaper removal etc. I can trust Luis with my own house and can also trust him to do a great job for my clients. He always cleans up perfectly and you would never know they were there! I have tried other painters and have always gone back to Luis as my "go to" guy.

Luis is a kind and gentle man. He is a solid citizen who takes great care with tasks and rightly takes pride in his good work.
