The original two workers (Fuzzy and Mercedes) gave the walk around and the estimate. One of the important points that convinced us to sign the contract and go with their company was that Mercedes said she was a trained horticulturalist and would be personally doing the pruning while she was overseeing the other workers. On the day of the work, Mercedes was not present. None of the workers were trained horticulturalists. The workers did a good job while they were at my house. However, some small items were left undone. When I mentioned this to the group foreman (Mike), he said they would be back to complete the work. When I didn't hear from them, I called and Mike called and agreed to come meet me at my house. When he arrived, he told me the other work that Fuzzy and Mercedes had convinced me to do wouldn't be a good idea since we didn't have automatic irrigation (Both Fuzzy and Mercedes knew there was no irrigation when they talked me into doing the large project). Mike then told me the project would be $400 more than Mercedes had quoted me. It was apparent that Mike didn't want to do the job. This was fine with me (I had never been interested in the large project anyway...I had only agreed to it because they were excited about it and I was willing to see what they could do) but I wanted that bed cleaned up and new mulch installed as specified in the original contract. He said they would do it "next year when we come back to do the other big job (moving rocks). The mulching just isn't enough work for them to send anyone out." I then called Mercedes and she agreed that the mulching should be done and agreed to schedule the work. After 4 weeks, I called Mercedes back. Mercedes told me I should get someone else to do the job because they were just too busy. I asked for the owner, Chris, to call me to discuss it. Chris has never called me. After 4 days, I called Fuzzy and he said would have Mike to do the work. Mike then called to say that he would not be doing the work because the company was too busy. I persisted and asked for a date when the work could be done. He then raised his voice and screamed that the work would not be done because it was not part of the original agreement. I disagreed but said I was happy to pay to have the work done..... but to PLEASE come back and finish the job! He refused. I asked him to have Fuzzy call me. When I didn't hear from Fuzzy I called Fuzzy again. He has not return my calls.
Description of Work: We have a written agreement for "Spring Clean Up" including a "fresh coat of mulch in previously mulched beds and areas." We were given additional verbal quotes for future work to be done.
