Bill Manning came the next day after receiving the RFQ through Home Adviser. I had his quote the following day. The project consisted of prepping, capping and facing existing cement steps that had inlayed slate that had cracked and started to deteriorate. The existing steps were pitch back so water collected year round and thick ice would freeze in the winter. Three days after I accepted his quote his man was on site and completed the job in two days. I couldn't have been more pleased with the workmanship and materials that they used. They took the extra time/care to pitch the steps correctly and to make sure cement didn't get on the black asphalt driveway or adjacent stone retaining walls.

Bill built a new deck on the back of my house. There was not an existing deck in place, but there was a concrete landing for the 2 doors off the enclosed back porch and the walkways in that area were all asphalt with brick edging. Additionally, there were several steel poles in place from the precious owner. Bill's team removed part of the concrete landings to make way for the new deck, broke apart some of the asphalt, and removed the "decorative" steel poles. Most of the rubble remains under the deck, but that should help reduce possible weeds. Bill's team dug and poured new footings, pulled a permit for the job, got the inspections, and built the new deck within 2 weeks. Here are some of the details of our deck for comparison: The size of the main part of the deck is 24' x 12' deck with an additional 4' x 8' extension to wrap around to the back porch doorway. The deck only needed to be ~3-4' off the ground. We went with Trex decking and hidden fasteners. Also, I had the decking set at an angle. This increased the price a little bit because it required some extra long boards. Bill also installed vinyl rails and 2 sets of stairs. Bill was great to work with. He incorporated everything I requested and was responsive. He also came by to correct any minor issues we had. I would recommend him to anyone who is thinking of building a deck.

The deck was build quickly and to the specifications I wanted. Best of all, it was a "turn-key" operation - "they came, they built, they left" all without any involvement from me.

Bill Manning got back to me very promptly. Went to my house the same day. Called me within hours with the estimate and completed the job while we were away. Came home to find the work neatly completed. Did the work without a deposit since we were away. Only met Bill when I handed him the check after we got back. I used Manning Construction last month. They estimated and installed a new deck and rebuilt an existing deck. They were trustworthy, punctual and professional. Excellent workmanship. Exceeded my expectations. Many little workmanship "extras" are immediately noticeable. The quality of the finished job just screams integrity. I am SO happy with the job that was done, that I am actually stunned. I keep going outside just to admire it! Absolutely fantastic. An added comment to this is that I am a single female. On occasion, when trying to hire someone to do work for you, it goes poorly & you can't help feel like you were treated like a "dumb female". Well. Not with this company! I didn't feel ripped off, or talked to like an idiot. I didn't feel like I had to get my dad or other male here to ensure that I didn't get the runaround. Professional, likeable experience! I am SO glad I found this company! :)

I hired Bill to take down our 16x16 deck and build a new one 12x20. He pulled a permit, started to job as he promised and finished on time. He patiently explained any questions I had and he showed up to the job site and worked with his team. We are pleased with out deck and would recommend him to anyone! We will rehire Bill for any future outdoor projects.

Bill was great. He understood my needs and did a great job with my deck. He brought it up to code and work with the town inspector to ensure any findings were rectified. Quality workmanship and completed on time

Bill, James and James Jr. were great to work with. The work was done perfectly and faster than anticipated. My next door neighbor hired Bill's competition. We used Bill and got 40% more deck at 2/3 the cost of my neighbor. The entire crew worked hard through some nasty hot humid weather. Great people and fun to work with. My wife was delighted with the outcome and we would recommend them without qualification.

Bill was great to work with, he got the job done very quickly and his builders, James and James Westover Jr. were amazingly hard working, steady and competent. We are very happy with the outcome and would recommend them to anyone.

I like Bill's no nonsense type approach when he came over for an estimate. He looked at my existing deck, advised me that the structure was sound and I didn't have to demo the entire deck. He explained exactly what he would have done. Sent an estimate the next day. Came back to finalize the measurements. Price was very fair. They tore down the deck except for Foundation and hauled it away. Began building next day. When it was completed, I had a question and bill came out and checked it out. I got a few estimates from other contractors and I thought Bill was the most confident, direct and honest out of all of them. Very responsive as well. Highly recommended!

Bill and crew were very friendly and were extremely accommodating. They willingly made adjustments twice during the build process without complaint. Overall, they were very good about scheduling and completed the entire job at a very reasonable price. We will use Manning Construction in another upcoming deck project!
