Description of Work: Gilson painted my foyer, living room, kitchen, casual dining room, powder room (skimcoated), hall bathroom (skimcoated), and upstairs hallway. He also removed the wallpaper, prepped, skimcoated, and painted my dining room. He painted the ceilings as well. Gilson was first class! He prepped all of the walls and did a fantastic job! My house looks great. I am very pleased with the finished product. I will be using him again!!!!!!!!!

Description of Work: We bought a Big Deal on December 18, 2014. Received a msg from Horizon that their contractor's license had expired and it would take a month to renew it. We haven't heard from them since. The work has not been done nor a refund given for the $89 Big Deal price.

Description of Work: Primed and painted three areas.. Two walls of a 20x30 garage, an entire 4x5 pantry, and all of a 2x6 closet. The garage and pantry were plain drywall. The closet had been painted.

Description of Work: Complete interior painting, Doors, trim, crown moulding and walls! Gilson was responsive and super helpful! He took care to ensure I knew what areas were of concern for him and what he what do to fix it... Very pleasant to work with in this time where nobody calls you back or fulfills commitments.

Description of Work: Removed wallpaper in kitchen and bathroom. Painted kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room and hallway, paint and trim including cieilings.

Description of Work: Painted 3 rooms - 2 bedrooms and kitchen. Kitchen needed stubborn wallpaper removed. I had gouged the walls pretty badly trying to remove the wallpaper. After a skim coat, base coat and paint, they look brand new!

I purchased my condo in December and needed all common area's(living, dining, kitchen, halls, up the stairs and upstairs halls, the finished basement and master bedroom painted. He repaired nail pops, caulked where needed and took pride in his work.

Description of Work: Gilson Silva removed popcorn off of 3 bedroom ceilings,21/2 baths, hall and entry way ceilings. Painted all ceilings along with 1 bedroom, hall and entry way.

Description of Work: Horizon Paint Co. came to the house to provide a written estimate to paint the house, a shed and a separate garage. The estimator was very professional and knowledgable in exterior painting. He appeared experienced and he was insightful into what had to be done. He did not do wood repair. He did have someone else come on the job to do all wood work. He assured me that the carpenter was very capable. He spent very little time on site. He sent me an written estimate for all paint work for $12,200. I did not go with Horizon Paint since I engaged Advanced Painting and Construction who does all his own carpentry and charged me $8,270. for the paintwork and the stain of the 25 foot deck in back of house. This price did not include the replacement of the damaged deck wood . The specificied wood work including the installation of a front door with side lights will cost an additional $1800 including the door. Horizon does not give me any mention to door replacement. It would appear that Horizon Paint Co. does charge significantly more than other painters. It would be well to get five or six paint estimates.

Description of Work: Gilson Silva, the painter from Horizon Paint Co, was meticulous and professional. We had him paint our deck, stairs, lattice work, garage doors, and the front porch. He sanded everything down to the original wood and then stained.

Description of Work: We had a lot of water damage from ice-damns and Gilson had to repair some drywall and sand bubbling paint trim in several rooms of our house. The project included painting ceilings, some walls and trim -- all different colors. We also asked him to paint all the wood stained trim and doors in a bedroom, along with the ceiling and an accent wall.

Description of Work: This company recently painted the exterior of my house and I had a very good experience with him on that job. I decided to call him back and have him also paint my windows, shutters, and house trim. He quoted me a very good price for the job. The job required that me power sand all of the surfaces, prime, and then paint. Which he did. After sanding all of the surfaces, he ended up having to apply TWO coats of primer and TWO coats of top coat which consisted of a high-gloss, exterior, enamel. While working on my windows, he noticed that some of the glass was loose due to old glazing. The house was built in the 1940's. He volunteered to fix this problem with new glazing compond, at no extra cost, and to prime paint over the new compond when it dries in about a week. He is finishing the second coat of paint now, on my windows, and will be coming back in about two weeks to prime over the glazing and to scrape any excess paint off the glass on the windows.

Description of Work: Powerwashed and scraped my house (wood shingle), applied two coats of primer, and two coats of top coat house paint. All paint was supplied by me. Originally, the job was supposd to be only one coat of primer and one coat of top coat house paint, However, since the house had not been painted in over 20 years, one coat of primer was not enough. The painter applied a second coat at no extra charge. After the first coat of house paint went on, the primer started to "bleed" through, so, he applied a second coat of house paint, again, at no extra charge. I feel that I got more than my money's worth on this job.
