Description of Work: originally requested work at our home, but the contractor felt that the location of the service request and recommended using another service. he also suggested getting a refund on the deal, but the steps for the refund were not so straightforward. broadbent contactor followed up and offered to work at my office. however, we were not able to coordinate it. I cannot comment on the work, but the contractor did make an effort to fufill this deal. I would not use his service simply because new rochelle is outside his service area.

Description of Work: Paul Broadbent is a most experienced construction person. He is knowledgeable concerning (old) houses and he is thorough in his work. The project was about the carpentry involved in extraction and reinstallation of failed radiators. Because of a delay by plumbers getting the radiators installed, Paul had to " sit on his heels " waiting to finish the job of reconstructing the walls damaged by their being removed and then reinstalled (but not as they had been before). Both of these required flexibility. He was excellent

Description of Work: Asked Broadbent construction to provide an estimate to repair a front porch with roof overhang. The main apparent problem was the floor boards were starting to rot. Paul Broadbent showed up and after initial surface inspection (we could not access under the porch) advised the different levels of possible repairs that could be needed, for example floorboards only Vs floorboards and framing joices. Mr Broadbent provided written estimates as asked, of the different repairs scenarios.

+ 3 moreOver the past few years, we have work with Broadbent Construction on an array of different projects. Each project has been approached with a dedicated and professional approach and keen eye to detail. Whether it has been a simple repair to a set of stairs, an addition to a porch or the renovation of our 1872 Victorian house, the care and quality of their planning and workmanship has resulted in an end product that has exceeded our expectation. There are contractors who can build things; and there are contractors who can create things. Broadbent Construction is this latter one. On this most recent deck project, the recommendation of a composite decking material (Azek) proved to be the correct one and is virtually indistinguishable from our other wood deck. The detailed trim work and paint combination would make some believe both areas were completed at the same time. We could not have a higher regard for Broadbent Construction and are happy to give our complete recommendation for the work.
Description of Work: The most recent project was the reconfiguring of a small deck to accommodate our grill and also match an extensive deck at the side of the house. Our existing deck is covered; this deck would be exposed to the weather and subject to dirt and grease from grilling. We need the 2 decks to be visually consistent while realizing their uses would be very different.

Description of Work: We have used Broadbent Construction for more than 15 years. They have provided a wide range of services from designing and remodeling the kitchen, designing and building a deck with french doors and small backyard bridge, repairing the siding of the house, solving the mysterious leak in a bedroom window to handyman services such as installing a large flat screen television on a cantilevered arm and most recently cleaning the gutters and dryer vent to power washing the deck and laying stone dust to reinforce a walkway.
