We couldn't be happier with the results and the overall experience. I didn't know much about painting a house our flashing, I only knew I needed both. After walking the property, he pointed out what he thought needed to be done and we went from there. Keith, the owner, came back with a very competitive price which included more prep work than other painters that provided estimates. I was very impressed by Keith's expertise and professionalism; we consulted him in picking our colors and he was very patient as we made our final decision the day he showed up to prep the house. I felt very comfortable going to work and leaving the house open when he was there or coming. They worked long hours and got the job done ahead of schedule. The house looks great!

We purchased this house in 2006 as we felt it had tremendous potential to become a designer show piece. We performed extensive research and realized the look we wanted would require a sizable investment. Over the following next four years we saved the money to make our dream a reality. We vetted three top contractors and ultimately selected New Castle as we believed Keith would perform a first class job focusing on quality and old world craftsmanship. As a result, our focus was not on price but Keith was competitive with other contractors who would perform the same scope of work. The work performed exceeded our expectations and that does not happen often as we are very demanding with respect to quality. Keith and his crew were very professional, flexible and reasonable regarding contract add ons and took their time and exhibited tremendous patience hand painting cedar shakes and 62 true divided light windows. Keith immediately correct anything that I was not completely happy with and did it without any push back whatsoever. He embraced our vision of how the house should look as his own and I felt that the outcome would have been no different had he been painting his own house. I give New Castle A + marks and will definitely use them again in the future.

Did an excellent job. Paint colors were off. Redid the entire job (two coats for an extra 1.5K). Excellent work.

We reached out to four contractors on the same day leaving messages with all of them. Keith called us back the same day and came out to survey the work and provided a timely quote. Although the quote was reasonable, Keith was not able to perform the work for several months given other projects they have underway. Considering 2 of the contractors did not even respond to our request, Keith was very professional. Although he did not get this project we would consider the company for others.

Very well, despite the poor weather we had in spring 2009. Keith prepared the siding by taking the worst areas back to bare wood. He sprayed and brushed and a year later everything is still looking tip top. We are very pleased with the way our house now looks as the previous paint color was totally out of character for a New England colonial

Keith and John are true professionals and really knew what they were doing. They taped every surface to make sure there were no problems or leaks. They worked for about 5 days to finish the house, it's rather cumbersome. They actually used more paint, since the house needed more, and didn't increase the price. They worked very long days to make sure each detail was completed. We were under a time crunch to re-install the gutters and Keith made sure we made it. He came everyday from start to finish which is rare in the construction business. Keith is a very nice person and someone you can feel comfortable having in or out of your home. I would recommend them again for any other work I needed done.

Keith (owner) came out promptly, gave us an estimate within a few days. After getting several quotes, and talking with others, we felt most confident about Keith and his company. They were very efficient, cleaned up after themselves and always made time to talk about the progress. They offered good advice when asked and offered several suggestions. We had several people tell us the layout of our home and property would make painting difficult and costly and Keith and his staff proved that quality doesn't need to be overpriced! We were very pleased with their work and professionalism.

The project was pretty straightforward -- replace the outdated colors and questionable paint sheens of the previous owner in the entire interior of our home. We found Keith on Angie's list and noted his high ratings for previous jobs. We needed him to be finished by 11/27/09 at the latest with a start date of 11/17/09 at the earliest. He came to see the house before we closed on it and gave an estimate in line with the other estimates we had received. He promised that he could start on 11/18/09 and would be finished by 11/27/09. In fact, he started right on time and completed the project 2 1/2 days early. My husband and I wondered what he was about when he took so long to prep the house for painting, but when we saw the completed project, we were blown away. The detailed work is incredible, especially considering that the first week he was there, Keith had to work around a small army of electricians and carpenters. We are very satisfied with the work that Keith did as well as his professionalism and that of his assistant, John.

The stairway was the only part of my condo I hadn't repainted myself due to the need for ladders, etc., and I finally decided I couldn't live with the previous owner's pastel-green walls anymore. I found Keith's name here on Angie's List, arranged for him to come out for an estimate, and set a date. Keith showed up for the work when he said he would, and finished the whole job that day. He prepped and repaired the walls, corrected some mistakes left by the prior owner (including removing old paint splotches on the finished wood railing), and covered up some old paint color splotches on the ceiling. He extended the color from my dining room up the wall that spans both levels of the condo (the dining room shares this wall, so I had been covering the previous weird color break with a decorative ledge). He painted the other three walls a complementary, but lighter, color. In addition to the walls, he painted all of the trim and the doors that were visible from the stairway. The whole area looks great (and no more pastel green!).

Keith Rawcliffe has been a joy to work with from start to finish. He clearly understands how to do a good paint job, and he pays attention to details. He did everything he said he'd do, and after the job started when we asked him to do a couple of extra things that were not in the contract he was perfectly happy to do them and for a very reasonable price. Keith not only runs the company, he is generally on the job himself. He does not use big crews of guys picked up from where ever. He is not some salesman or absentee businessman. When you talk to Keith, you are talking to the guy who will be getting the job done and making sure it is done right. Keith takes pride in his work, and it shows.

Keith and John were true professionals and I really appreciated all the extra effort they went to. My daughter was sick and they continued to work and were as quiet as possible when she was sleeping. They did the nailing in the morning as to not interfere with her naps. On the second day they did some sanding and put plastic up around the open archways so there would be minimal clean up for me afterwards in the adjoining rooms. They worked all day, both days. They took a short break for lunch down the street and then came back and worked very hard to get the job done. They finished the entire job a day earlier than Keith's estimate. At the end of both days they used a shop vacuum to clean up everything. The paint job itself came out very well. They painted a lighter color on the walls over a darker one and it still came out great. I would hire them again if I needed more work done.

This work was done in an over 125 year old house, where nothing is 'square'. The remodeled room went from a 'junk' room to a functional future living room. Wood flooring was found under old tiles and refinished. The ceilings were formerly 'popcorn' style, and now look like the ceilings in an older house. The crown molding job was exceptional, as it had to be cut to fit a rounded bay window area, where the angles were different on each side. It really makes the room! Keith is a professional who listens to the customer, answers questions and makes requested adjustments during the course of the job. In addition to his professionalism, he has an artistic background that he uses to assist the customer with color and design recommendations. I highly recommend Keith.

Fantastic. Keith gave us a fair price to finish everything I could not get done on the paint job I started. He e-mailed us several days in advance to tell us when he could start. Showed up on time and worked very quickly. The paint job looks great. Keith is a real craftsman, not just a guy that slaps paint on a wall. Need painting, remodeling, or even a custom mural, call him up.

Painter always seemed to rush which diminished the quality of the overall work.

Very well. Service was performed when scheduled. Entire job was completed in 8 days (despite rain in the middle). Keith is a seasoned contractor and was courteous throughout the process.

Did fine job. The color was not quite matched to color swatch but this was not their fault although I wished they had noticed prior to painting. Very nice and pleasant to work with. They appeared to be very popular thus had to wait awhile to have work performed. Good quality and communications. Overall they did a great job and I would use them again.

Very positive experience. Called to follow up on project start time, arrived and departure time. Took care to cover floors which had just been refinished. Excellent painter, no streaks on trim.

An excellent job. Keith and his worker were prompt, efficient, and cleaned up very well each day. He was responsive to changes as the job developed, and helped figure out solutions to problems. The work is first class and all work was completed in two weeks.

Ceilings were in dire need of work, three were pealing and no matter how much scraping and sanding we did, they would begin pealing again. The sand finish looked terrible. Keith recommended sanding them down then skim coating them to make them flat. He completed all of the work in two & 1/2 days. Followed up with us on two occasions to see how we liked the work and has returned to fix some bleed through issues in the painting.

I knew we were going to put our house on the market soon, so I needed someone to touch up areas quickly. Keith gave me an estimate that included a bunch of tiny patch-up things. He worked quickly, very professionally, cleaned up after himself and didn't mind our dogs getting tail prints in the paint a couple of times.

Could not have been better!!! Outstanding from minute 1. He promptly responded to my email requesting an estimate, and scheduled a time to view the project. His estimate thoroughly broke down every element we had in mind (which was key, because we didn't know exactly how much money we had to allot for these projects at that time... and this allowed us the flexibility to prioritize as needed and go from there). Furthermore, the total estimate for everything included was VERY reasonable. I was expecting a lot more (and now having seen his work, I would have paid more and not flinched a bit... he's that good). Once we determined we had the money for the complete project available, we scheduled him. The holiday season made this a little difficult, but not overbearing. He started promptly when he said he would, was very professional, returned all calls, and answered all questions we had. And as for his painting... well, the work speaks for itself!! Awesome painter!! A+ job!!!

I called Keith while he was on vacation to see if he was interested in the job and we set up an appointment. He was on-time for our appointment and was able to look my place over for the appraisal. He informed me that he would need to work up his estimate based on the space and paint brand, and would then send it to me for consideration. I received his proposal approximately four days later and it was a very good price. We then agreed on a date for him to re-paint my bedroom. He arrived on-time for the job and was able to complete it in the agreed upon time frame. He did an excellent job and was able to cover up the mistakes from an unrelated paint job. Keith also returned to paint my living room and did a very good job. He was able to complete the job promptly. In addition to the painting, Keith did some caulking and repaired some wall damage. Overall, I was extremely pleased with his professionalism, quality of work, and speed in completing the job.

The experience was seamless. We were in a rush to get things painted and move-in ready and he graciously accommodated our tight schedule. Compared to other painting companies, we found this to be a bargain; especially considering the turn-around time. Keith is also extremely friendly and helpful. Being first-time homeowners, he was patient with our questions about the differences in paint, and which colors might work best in certain areas.
