Academy Overhead Door

I called in the morning and they were at my house the same day in the late afternoon! Dispatcher even called to let me know they were delayed on another job and would be a little late. Job went smoothly and parts are warrantied for life. My garage doors now operate better than when installed new.

We bought and moved into the three-yr-old house in June 2013. Immediately, we noticed how loud the garage door was as it opened and closed. Ironically, I saw this $99 offer from Angie's List (retail is $250) and took advantage of it. The process to schedule the service was fast and easy. The service man (can't remember his name) came with his son, explained the work that would be completed and then took a little less than an hour to finish the aforementioned job. The man was very courteous and efficient in completing the work. After the service was completed, we can no longer hear the garage door opening, nor closing, even as we sit in the adjacent Great room. Well worth the money every year or two.

Our springs were the older larger type, but they honored their special even though more expensive for them. Great job. Would hire again.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, it wasn't what I had expected. He said the prings needed adjustement, but he couldn't do that. He replaced the rollers and that was it. It was not what I understood it would be, I understood that he would adjust the springs, and that is the biggest thing about servicing a garage door. He was here when he was supposed to be.

It ws great, the service guy showed up right on time, replaced some thingies on the door, adjusted some more dohickies and wow, it goes up and down with out al the noise and hesitation it had before. Can't tell you what it did, just can tell you he did it well.

This went just fine. The spring used was a non-stocked size that needed to be custom cut. That required return service which was done promptly, although rescheduled once due to bad weather.

Academy Overhead Door seemed great at the time, but my garage door has broke three times since they were out here, so I don't know what the heck they fixed. They were really professional and good at the time.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was okay. He did a nice job. He is kinda like a typical, run-of-the-mill, garage door repair guy. Overall, he was pretty good. He came pretty quick, she called me and he came out the same day. He said he'd be here at 1 and he got here like 1:05, it was good. She had a bunch of guys that she called and send them out on a truck that look like independent contractors. I just got that feeling but she did fine. The garage door works good, he did fix the problem. In fact, he found and fixed a thing that he wasn't even supposed to work on. He did a nice job.

He was wonderful. He came to service the garage door and I asked him about what was tripping on the bottom. He said that it would be no problem and he gave me the quote. He said it would take a couple of days to get the part because they had to go to Denver. He had to get time to go to Denver and get the parts. When he came back, he explained to me that they no longer made the parts for our garage doors because our garage door is a little different model. It's kind of older. So what he did is he bought a different one, newer model one. He installed it and only charged us for the bid he gave us which was a lot less. The thing he put on the bottom was a double seal and ours was a single seal. They don't make the single seals anymore so he put the double seal in and paid the extra for what it cost. The initial cost to come out was $99.
