Chambers was called for a second opinion and listened to us. They investigated the drain with a snake and a camera and found that the knock out cap that covered the toilet drain while the house was being built had been knocked into drain. They returned with a second machine a day later and extracted the knock out cap.

Now when the wind blows the chimney hums loudly and Dave from Chambers told me they have no intention of trying anything to make it right. I was originally told they would bring a lift out to try to rectify the problem but they decided to cancel the lift and do nothing. They were willing to take the money to do the job but not try even once to fix a problem. Personally, I wouldn't hire them again no matter what was happening in my house. They don't stand by their work.

Normally, I don't expect miracles from service providers, just clear, honest communication and effort. I own three houses so I need a plumber about every year for something. I was looking to replace my previous plumber of nearly twenty years who was excellent but retired. I had used Chambers once before for a simple job at another house and didn't have any issues. In this case though it was very different. The plumber they sent came to my house for five minutes to look at a part which I already removed, thus requiring no diagnosis. They ordered the parts, promised them by the end of the week, which was important because we're we're having family in town by then. When the end of the week arrived I had not heard from them so I checked to see when the plumber was going to arrive. At that point, they discovered the part was not coming in. I made the mistake of not immediately contacting another plumber because I was busy getting ready for guests. They started to say that there was nothing they could do because the supplier dropped the ball. I had never been in contact with the supplier myself, only Chambers Plumbing so I explained to them that this was not my concern due to the fact that I had been promised a completion date by them, not whoever their supplier was. This is a common tactic of poorly run companies - shift the blame on someone else when you're promise falls through. If they cannot count on their suppliers they need to make adjustments as to whom they use, not try to push that responsibility onto the customer. At the beginning of the week, had they told me that there was any possibility that the part would not be in I would have made other arrangements. In addition, they did not contact me to let me know what the problem was, I contacted them. Only after being irate with the person who answers the phones (I tried being reasonable first and did not get anywhere) and suggesting that someone else might have the part did they think to check. Amazingly they found it locally within an hour. Why they didn't use this option earlier in the week when they knew I needed it fixed I don't know. Also, why they did not track the part to ensure that it arrived and then try another option immediately I do not understand either. They installed it that day and charged me for the parts as expected and for the time to install and a full hour for the five minute initial service call earlier in the week (recall I diagnosed the problem and when I decided I could not find the parts easily I hired them to fix it). I have no problem paying for the parts as quoted and a fair charge for time but this one hour ($135) charge for a five minute visit to my house seemed excessive. When I brought this up to the plumber who was there his answer was that the company was making him charge me for the time it took to order part originally (remember those parts never came in). I was prepared to let it go but the repair didn't work so I called back for them to honor their work and quality of the parts. My thought was maybe it was a faulty part, install or the water heater was otherwise shot. None of these contingencies seemed to require more money from me unless new work was performed. When the new person came out to check it out his initial response, without any diagnosis, was to try to sell me a new tankless system for thousands of dollars. He, and the person answering the phone when I called had to arrange this visit both, assured me that this additional service call to check the repair would not cost me anything. He was there for ten minutes total during which time he relit the pilot, asked me to keep an eye on it for the rest of the day to see if it stayed lit and promised to call back the next day. It didn't initially stay lit but after I have relit it a few times over the next few days it seems to be OK now. I thought, just let it go and find another plumber next time. This seemed to be their preference as well as I never received a follow up call despite a clear promise that I would receive one. This was the case until I received another bill for $135. This apparently was for the follow up check and relighting, which I had been told would not cost me anything. All pleasantries on my part were gone as I had wasted too much time on this already so after another call to the owner of the company (I completely admit to being very livid from the start on the phone with him) and I have been told the bill is removed. We'll see if that happens. I think the problem here is internal communications which means a poorly run company. All of the people I have spoken to were initially pleasant and they said the right things at the time. The plumber who worked for them seems to be competent. The company does not honor their verbal commitments though. Whatever the case, do not take the chance on this company. There are many average plumbers in the area who could do just as well as Chambers. I am sure there are some who are better. I have not found my replacement plumber though.

They most importantly were experts on a highly sensitive product. They were professional, timely, showed me & educated me on the issues, resolved them, told me what to listen for & how best to care for the product & miller moth season. I can't more highly recommend them.

Punctual. Arrived earlier than sheduled. Diagnosed problem and replaced valve in approximately 20 minutes.

Tech was awesome. Explained everything clearly and made good suggestions for us to cure some possible problems with venting.

They came the first time and replaced the washer, but not the stem. Two month later it started to drip, four month later it started to knock loudly. When we asked them to come back and fix it we were past the 30 day (30?!?!?) guarantee on workmanship. This meant we had to pay another $140 to have it fixed correctly (this time they replaced the stem - with one that does not match the other one I might add). So, if the first guy had just done it right the first time... On a side note, I would not expect to have to clean the mud up that was tracked through the house. The Chambers Plumbing my parents used to use is no more.

Lance was on time, very kind polite and professional. Not only did he fix our problem, he gave up information on how unit works and how to best set it for best performance. Explained everything from start to finish.

This company could not have been more informative and explained EVERYTHING as they worked on it. They also produced accurate estimates! People were all friendly and knowledgeable!

Lance came to replace the silence he had to on opening the wall and was careful to lay trap down to prat act the floor.

The installation was done on rime. The installation crew was very professional and there were no issues with the installation. I had to call them a few months later for service. The service technician came in and promptly diagnosed the problem. I ma happy with the water heater and the installation/service provided by Chambers Plumbing. I would use them again.

We did not use this service, but the young man was very courteous and helpful, and suggested the company that was right for the job we had.

They installed an LG Inverter V mini-split AC/heat system in my 2nd floor home office. They did a good job on the installation, and haven't had any problems with it. It works pretty well to keep the space cool. They got it done on schedule. They left a bit of drywall dust on the floor which I had to wipe up, but no biggie. My only possible complaint is I didn't really need the heat function, so I feel I paid a little more than necessary. Overall it was a good experience and I would use them again.

Fine. On time, did not need hand holding. Did not complain. Worked fast, did need "encouragement" to line up faucet handles however.

The plumber showed up exactly at 9 AM, when he said he would and installed not only the tub fixtures, but also mounted a ring mount for the new toilet in the downstairs rough in. He was friendly and professional and got the job done in a timely manner. We did have to pay holiday wages, but it was well worth it. I've used Chambers off and on over the years, and have always found them to be reliable and competively priced. Thanks Chambers for helping me out of a tough situation.

Overall, I have been very please with the promptness and quality of work done by Chambers Plumbing. In the past we did have one issue in regards to some work that they did on one of our properties, but Mark made sure the appropriate changes were made, and we were very satisfied with the work once completed. All work began & finished when promised. The plumbers were friendly & kept us aware of what they were doing. They took short lunch breaks & no noticeable breaks. They worked and did not waste time. They cleaned up areas they worked in & removed everything they had to replace.

Over an eight month period, they were out twice to clear the line. The first time it was cleared but the trouble never properly diagnosed. The second time, it was "scoped" but not properly. The root cause wasn't identified by this company. Their estimate was grossly high. We engaged the company by writing a letter letting them know about the subpar performance which was never answered. They did also install my tank-less water heater but the charges were higher than they should have been.
