One Clear Choice

We were very impressed. He was able to arrive earlier than scheduled and was very nice/professional. They were willing to work with us on the cost and completed the job in a bit over an hour. He also made us aware of a few other issues to take note of for the future, but we were not pressured to fix right away. If we have any other garage door issues or repairs we'll be calling them back.

This was not a good experience for us. Admittedly, 1 Clear Choice was not our original choice of providers; the first company we bought a service from was not able to come to our house for three days and, with a garage door that could not be opened, we did not want to wait that long for it to be fixed.. Angie's List was kind enough to locate another business, 1 Clear Choice, who offered the same deal-- $175 for a Garage Door Springs Replacement (Parts and Labor)-- who could fix the springs in our garage door within 24 hours. The technician from 1 Clear Choice arrived within the stated time which was positive. Immediately he chastised us for needing BOTH springs fixed for only $175. He had intended to fix both springs but seemed to allude that the $175 was for only ONE spring. Naturally, it's impossible to repair only ONE spring and have the garage door work. We held our ground at the cost and he went about replacing BOTH springs. I think that made him more than a little frustrated. He worked quickly to replace them (also good) but then proceeded to push for us to repair other aspects of our door. He said the rollers were shot--and never installed properly, the end bearing plates were bad, the door opener didn't have a surge protector installed, and on and on. In general, it felt as if he was trying to shame us into buying a new door from his company. This felt like a "bait and switch" tacit. His condescending tone was what really soured us on his company. In short, although we were happy that our garage door was repaired, the process felt so sleezy that we'd never consider 1 Clear Choice for service again.

Our garage door opener was broken, we contacted One Clear Choice and were told that they would send someone out and that there would be no fee to estimate the cost of repair. What this actually means, is no charge to drive to your home. As soon as they try and ascertain what the problem is, there is a $69 charge. That in itself is annoying, but worse was to come. I was then told that it would cost me $623 dollars to install a new system. However, according to LiftMaster what it probably needs is a new logic board, which is actually free from the manufacturer, because the unit was still under warranty and would take about 10-15 minutes to replace. I understand that companies need to be profitable, but $623 v $0? I have no knowledge of garage door openers and I am sure there are a lot of people who would have agreed to the cost. What I do know is that after less than 5 minutes of analysis and the only answer is a completely new system, then then there is probably something wrong or suspicious about the analysis. UPDATE: It gets even worse. When I actually opened up the unit, to replace the logic board; the only thing wrong was that a wire had become unattached. Proving that the technician, hadn't even bothered to take of the 3 screws to take the cover off. Stay clear of this company.

It took me a while to get the original call from them, but they did show up on time for the appt., and I'm new to Angie's List, so that could have been a system issue. As far as I know, they did perform the purchased service, but I just wasn't especially impressed, overall. Seemed like he was in a hurry and told me there were lots of things that needed to be fixed. Am not sure if they do or not?

Technician was professional, courteous, and on time. He assessed our needs, and had parts on-hand to make necessary repairs. Our garage door is 80% quieter than before service. Highly recommended!

I called at 3ish about a coupon a received in the mail for a new garage door opener. Before 7pm, I had a new garage door opener w/ 2 remotes and keypad installed. I wasn't in a rush, but it worked out that they came within hours. The service was exactly as advertised and the technician was very professional.I

The installer diagnosed the problem quickly. He was professional and friendly. He loves working for 1 Clear Choice because of the owners customer first attitude. The installers truck was well stocked with all the parts he needed to do our repair. I agreed to the repair and he performed the repairs in the time it took me to mow the lawn.

Excellent service. Lifetime, transferrable, warranty given. Highly recommended.

Really well. Super easy and very accommodating to my schedule. Price seemed fair. New spring works well and the nylon rollers are much quieter.

Their service turned out all right for me. They had to come back. When they came out it was awesome. The guy was super friendly and super nice. He came and did the deal, and when he was there I said my garage door is not closing all the way down either. The next day when I closed my garage it still was like about an inch up, it was not meeting the pavement. So I called them up and the guy was a jerk to me. He said well that is not what he was there for, it is going to cost you $40 more to come out, I cannot do anything until I get your paperwork, I have to call you back and they never called me back. So then about two weeks later my garage door was like weird, it was jerking and it was going all over the place and it got open altogether. I could not get into my garage and I did have a key to my front door. So I sneaked into my house, I called their emergency line but luckily in the meantime I crawled underneath the garage because it would open about a foot and what had happened is they did not tighten one of the bolts. So they had to come back out and tighten down this bolt. They did it and the guy was super nice who did it. So, any ways I was not pleased with that either.

We knew out garage door needed a lot of work - we had one company out last year for a tune up when we were having trouble with the stop limit and they walked away from the job after doing about 90% of it due to the doors condition. After the spring broke over the weekend we called one clear choice and set up an appointment for Dustin to come out on Monday. He showed up on time and quickly started fixing the spring as well as other problems we new about - sticky rollers and bent hinges, as well as frayed steel cables and sharp drums that we didn't know about but were clearly problems. Finally, the tack had somehow bent a bit when the spring broke (we had also noticed this before Dustin came out) and once the other repairs were completed we were able to confirm that the bent track prevented the opener from working properly, so Dustin installed a new motor, track and safety eyes for us. We now have a door that operated dramatically quieter and smoother than the one we has and couldn't be happier with the service. Amy, the sales manager, was also very helpful in gathering some paperwork necessary to apply for some rebates.

AND IT WORKED!!!! I will continue to use One Clear Choice Doors for my garage door needs - consistent responsiveness, reasonable prices, prompt service!

Very well, the installer was polite, professional and expedient. I can barely hear the motor or the door opening or closing.

Aaron, one of the technicians showed up at my house during the estimated timelsot I had been given. My garage door would not open either manually or with the opener. Turned out that my springs was broken. Aaron replaced the broken spring and as a precaution I had him change the other spring as well. Upon further inspection of the condition of the garage door and opener, Aaron the service person pointed out several other issues with my garage door. He was really good about showing me what was wrong with my garage door and opener and explaining the impact on the functioning of the garage door if the issues were not addressed. Note that my garage door and opener were 12 years old and had only been serviced once (last year by another company. apparently not a good job because some of the issues I had asked about then which were considered okay were not okay). My garage door opener was dying, my rollers needed to be replaced and collars were needed. Aaron was great about making sure I got all the deals available. I ended up saving over $500. I will use One Clear Choice in the future for servicing and any other repairs needed for my garage door.

It was top notch quality. He was very honest and straight forward. He did not try to make me buy any parts that weren't necessary.

The repairman ( Ethan) arrived within 15 minutes of my phone call. He replaced the broken spring, as well as an additional spring that we felt should be replaced as a precaution. . Ethan was very polite and professional. He had the repairs done in 20 minutes and we were good to go. My neighbors were VERY pleased. Great experience!

Our garage door opener was dying a horrible death and we called One Clear Choice on a Friday morning. They had a service tech out tot he house later in the day and 45 minutes we had a new LiftMaster garage door opener installed and working perfectly. The tech was friendly, efficient and did a great job. The final price was exactly as quoted. He did check the overall condition of the garage door and suggested additional work that needs to be done, but in no way was I given a high-pressure sales pitch. I will probably have the work done in the next couple of months and One Clear Choice will be my go-to company.

About two weeks ago one of the garage door's springs broke. The opener and door had been giving us trouble since we bought the house a year ago, so we decided to replace both. After calling several companies for price checks, we went with One Clear Choice. The technician came out promptly on the same day, replaced the springs and installed a new opener. Because the doors need to be ordered & picked up, the door was installed a week later (with another set of new springs). The technicians were professional, polite, and knowledgeable. The garage door and opener works extremely well and is considerably quieter. Overall, we're quite happy with the replacement and One Clear Choice.

The receptionist was friendly, knowledgable, and made an appt. quickly and for a specific time. The workman arrived on time and was super polite. It took him a couple of hours, but the job was well done.

on Oct 16, we had 1 Clear Choice out to look at one of our garage door which was not operating. They had installed the garage door openers several years prior (and did a good job with that). The technician came out and wrote an estimate for $483 incl. tax including a charge for door service, replacing the tension spring, and replacing poly rollers. I asked him whether replacing these parts was necessary and he said the torsion spring was broken and the rollers were in bad shape and required replacement. I decided I needed another estimate and got one from another company. The other company's technician charged $106.74. I showed him 1 clear choice's estimate and asked whether those parts required replacing. He said, no, the torsion spring was not broken and was in fine shape. He also said the rollers were perfectly fine and upgrading to poly rollers was purely an expensive upgrade. He serviced both doors including oiling and tighteining, repaired the drum and was done in under 30 minutes. He suggested I find out if the sales man for 1 clear choice worked on commision. I called 1 Clear Choice and asked that question. The woman who answered the phone was immediatley defensive, demanding to know why I would need to know that. I told her I'd rec'd an estimate for 4 times the cost of having the work done by anothe large company. she immediately launched into a statement that other companies have nothing to do with them and 1 clear choice is listed on Tom Martino. I told her I was dissatisfied with the recommendation for unnecessary parts and wanted her to know that. She said thank you for your input and hung up.

1 Clear Choice did as advertised. Ron, our installer, was both knowledgeable and professional. He said the job would be an hour to an hour and a half and he was done in less than an hour. Minimal noise, as my husband was sleeping. I thought he did a great job in a very short time. The price was a little high, but worth it. I will recommend 1 Clear Choice Garage Doors to any who have problems or need an install. Ask for Ron! Customer # 34517-101
