Caled and got appt for next day. Showed up on time and was through in an hour. price as quoted. SMOOTH transaction. I would highly reccomend.

The actual work went fine. I scheduled it Friday morning and they gave me a 90-minute show-up window that afternoon. Glenn showed up right in the middle of that window, almost immediately diagnosed the problem - springs needed tensioning - and has it fixed and opening/closing perfectly just fine. Until then, I was really happy with Kirby, right up to the point where Glenn told me the price. Maybe that's the going show-up charge in the Denver garage door industry, but if it is customers deserve to be told that up front, whether we ask about it or not, on the phone or on their Web site. If I'd been told up front, I might've checked another couple of places, found their charges were similar to Kirby's, and gone with Kirby anyway because of their "A" rating and because they're 5 miles from my house. And I wouldn't be an unhappy customer after getting such otherwise great service.

I called the company because my garage door was having trouble running on the rails and would stop halfway up or down sometimes. I was told over the phone that it was possible that I would need a new gear kit (a few hundred dollars), but he wouldn't know for sure until he was out here. I was given an appointment within 2 days of my call. I needed to reschedule that appointment and was given a time that was the same day as the original appointment, just later in the day. It was very easy to reschedule. The technician came out and took one look at the garage door running and diagnosed it. He serviced the door and charged me the minimum price for a service call. He told me why the door was sticking and stopping, why the other garage door wasn't having the same problem (even though they are the same age) and how to take care of this problem in the future so I could handle it myself next time (if I wanted to do so). I was very impressed that he gave me all this information and did not try to convince me to use his services for this issue in the future, even though he could have done so. I received professional service over the phone and in person. I will definitely call again for any garage door services in the future.

The work was performed without incident.

I called to make arrangements for a service call. However, when I described the problem he told me I could probably fix it myself. He told me what to do and voila it worked. Could have quite easily have made the house call and charged me for it, but instead he was honest and ethical and provided customer service instead. Has earned my business. I'm planning on eventually getting a new panel for the garage door that has windows in it. After my experience today, Kirby's will be the first place I call.

I was very pleased with the responsiveness of Kirby's. My door was stuck open with no way t could even manually move it. So that afternoon someone came and got the door closed and diagnosed the situation. The next afternoon a new opener was installed and a previous problem (that wore down the old opener) was remedied. I have used with this company for 10 years. They are always responsive and reasonable. Using Kirby's-----it's a peace of mind thing

(03/11/2010) I was told by the technician that I needed a new garage door and that it would cost $300+ so I called my significant other and he told me to just pay the service call and he'd put in a new one. I paid $60.00 to Kirby's Garage Door Service, went to Sears, purchased a new overhead garage door opener. When we went to install it, he found that there was a broken sensor wire on the old garage door opener and that once that wire was fixed, it was unnecessary to install a new unit. So I took the new unit back to Sears and have the receipts to prove it! I called Kirby's, told them the situation, and asked for my money back. The guy apologized, said he'd refund my money and that checking the wires was one of the first things his techs were supposed to do. I let the matter go. Then I realized, I had no record of a refund, I called the company back and asked about it again today. This time the guy said his company had done nothing WRONG, my significant other was NOT an expert and his guys were, which I refuted. He then became hostile, rude, condescending, talked over me, and refused to come back out and verify what I'd said. In short, he was a JERK and gets a big F in customer service. DO NOT USE KIRBY'S! He tried to validate himself and his service by saying he was recommended by Tom Martino, etc, I did not tell him I used to be a producer for Nine Wants to Know (the consumer division) on Channel 9 News and wish I could air this story now. Meanwhile, he said he would refund my money (we'll see if he does this time). If the co. had done what it said in the first place, I would have thought it was an honest mistake and let it go. I'm a now realtor and lots of people ask me for recommendations and Kirby's will NEVER be on my list! The money aside, this man owes me an apology for his outrageous behavior. UPDATE (03/29/2010) Footnote to my original complaint. Today I received a refund from Kirby's Garage Door Service. It was sent to the rental address rather than to mine so it took awhile to receive it. While I appreciate that much, the company still insists it was RIGHT, when it was NOT. My tenant has NEVER complained about the old garage door opener now that it's fixed! A secure person or company can admit mistakes and apologize (something I doubt Kirby's will EVER do) as well as make it right financially.

Kirby did a great job and was very responsive to our need. A fantastic company. If I ever need a door replaced I will definitely use them. We also got $10 off for mentioning we found them on Angie's List.

Terrific - problem solved at no cost.

When I'd finally had enough of the squeaking, klunking and 'fingernails on a chalkboard' noises my garage door was making, I called Kirby's Door Service. Derek came out within 2 days and performed magic. He happily realigned one of the door panels that had been bumped off the track (I think due to a new teenage driver in the family). My garage doors are no longer waking the neighbors and scaring small children.

i called and they had someone come out 3 days later to give me an estimate and recommendation. the installer came out several days after that, completed the work in the time they said they would and at the price i was given at time of estimate. both individuals were very professional.

contacted by phone early Monday July 27,2009 to get garage door fixed. made appointment for 10:30 AM that morning ( their suggested time, not mine) . No show by 12:00 I called them back and was told that they were held up at their first call -- OK -- rescheduled for Tuesday July 28,2009 at 8:00AM ( again their suggestion) again no show by 9:45AM called left message at that time. no response I called them back at 10:10AM and cancelled. I would have been able to reschedule my day if anyone had bothered to let me know that they were unable to make either the first or second appointment. As it was they didn't bother to let me know that they weren't going to make their schedule and left me hanging around waiting for them--- twice.

She couldn't get the sensors to work and so the door kept popping up. After complete ruining it with her DIY techniques (!!), the door wouldn't open or close at all. Kirby's was listed first, had great ratings and she called them first. They sent someone out two days later. The young guy did a great job, fixed it, and charged her only for the basic service call. 20 minutes and she was back in business. She said she wished every problem was solved so quickly and easily (and cheaply).

Glenn came the same day I called and wrote up an estimate. We had to clear out the space and as soon as that was done Kirby Doors was ready to go. Glen and his son Derrick evaluated what supplies they needed to modify the space and went to work. By the end of the day we had a great door in place. They cleaned everything up and showed us how it worked. A very satisfying transaction!

They also increased the tension. They came out the same day, were prompt, and good to work with. I would definately recommend them.

My first call to Kirby's was a real pleasure. They were extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and totally honest about my options... whether to repair or replace my garage door opener. After to some calling other companies and internet searching, I called Kirby's to replace my door opener. They were by far the least expensive and most knowledgeable folks I talked to. They came out one day after the original appointment because of the extremely low temperatures. They did call prior to the appointment and we set up a new time. They arrived on schedule, and the work was completed in a timely fashion. They removed all of my old equipment and all of there excess materials. Overall, one of the most pleasant and satisfying buying experiences...

They were prompt, professional, reasonable. Did a very good job quickly. It's a family operation. The people you see and talk to throughout the job are the people who do the work.

Of all the companies listed I dowsed for the best for me and got the Kirby's Door Service. I called and got great answers to my questions an set up an appointment. I was in no rush but got in for about 5 days out. Darrin, (I think) showed up on time, did great work quickly, even in High temps of about 87 degrees. He cleaned up and tested the door opener replacement. Instructed me on its use and we parted Happy. Thanks to the Kirby's Door Service Co.

Quick and painless. I was very impressed.

The big spring on our old door broke. Couldn't open the door at all, so couldn't get the car out of the garage. I found the reference to this and other companies in Angie's List online. Kirby's looked good, so I called and they come over very quickly to apply a temporary fix to the spring so we could open and close the door. We discussed replacing all the old door equipment, and Mullen left info on doors and door openers for us to think about. We decided, made an appointment for installation of a new door, and they came back in just a couple of days, installed the new equipment. Service was very quick, very professional, and finished job looks good, works well -- all very satisfactory. We have quality equipment and we got quality service and workmanship.

Installation of new garage door went very well. Courteous, communicated well over the phone, courteous when I called to be sure we would have written estimate/invoice prior to start. Still waiting on rubber weather stripping for bottom of door to be mailed to us (we needed a wider stripping than is normally used) but I have no doubt it will be here any day. Also said they recycle the metal instead of just putting it in landfill. I would definitely recommend this company.

They seemed really skilled. They did the job quickly cleaned up after themselves. They did exactly what I needed and I have an older garage so they had to adjust the opening, and I was very pleased with the quality of door they put in.
