Description of Work: I had two previous sitters lined up to take care of my dogs for 7/27-7/29 and each of them ended up having to cancel due to special circumstances. I had arranged for Dan to come by to meet me and my three small dogs; I had explained to him on the phone that 2 are special need dogs and that I would need his service soon (7/27-7/29) including overnight stays. He said he would be available on those dates. When he came to my home, he did not present well professionally. I discussed each dog with him and while the dogs did engage with him, he did not seem too interested in hearing the information I was providing; he handed me one sheet of paper and asked me to fill it out; had very few questions for me. I did tell him I had a male roommate who wasn't present at the time for him to meet (a medical professional) who does not understand how to care for dogs which struck him as odd. He asked if there was a guest room to stay in and I stated that my roommate occupied that; he would need to sleep on the sofa. He appeared to put my care arrangements in his phone and after seeing the sunroom area where the dogs would stay at night and the back yard, he then left. Today he notifies me that he cannot sleep on the sofa and is not comfortable with having someone else in the home, and needs airconditioning (I have fans in my home) and is canceling his service, leaving me very little time to find another sitter. I will never call him again for service.

Description of Work: Being new to the neighborhood and not knowing who to ask to care for our 3 kitties, we found Dan on Angie's list. We made an appointment for Dan to come see exactly was what involved with the plan to have him take care of the kitties while we were away for a few days - we have 3 cats and wanted someone to check in on them while we were out of town. Dan came and met us and the kitties and we walked thru the house and talked about what was expected of him, basically cleaning cat boxes out and making sure there was food and fresh water. He brought the newspapers in and watered the plants. We received a 10% discount for using Angie's list for a referral to Dan the first time. We felt like we had known Dan forever - he is a caring individual. We were able to go away and feel comfortable that the pets would be cared for. They were, thank you Dan.

Description of Work: this is the second time we have used dan. he is cool. i have three dogs and one turtle. he comes as promised, feeds and walks the dogs, takes in the mail, does the trash and recycling, and anything else you would like. the dogs like him. they are happy, nice, and calm when i come home. i can tell they are relaxed and happy when he is here.

Description of Work: I had surgery on my foot and could not walk the dogs. Dan came soon after I called him to meet me and the dogs. He walked my dogs three times a week. He took the initiative to not only water my outdoor plants but fertilize them for me as well. Dan is a super nice guy. My dogs loved him. He has a special way with animals, very patient and loving.

He licks him to death when he comes over and jumps around in circles because he is so excited. I feel completely comfortable leaving my dog with him. Dan loves animals and they respond to him. He also gives my dog his meds and waters my plants. Dan is prompt returning phone calls and is fairly priced!

Description of Work: Dan house and pet sat for me three (3) days over Thanksgiving. My dog is very timid & "needy", so I needed someone to actually stay at my house. Dan took care of everything, brought the mail and newspapers in. Took care of the dog, took her on a daily walk. The house was very neat when I came home. My dog loves Dan. They are such great pals that I have permanently hired Dan as a dog walker. Dan comes to my house, while I am at work, four (4) days a week for one + hours and he walks my dog and plays with her. This is $25.00 per visit. I have been home a couple of times when Dan has arrived and my dog is so excited to him. I sometimes work late, but now I don't have to worry about being late because she gets a potty break in the middle of the day. So this is working very well for me and my dog.
